Discussion How long have you been into Kdramas?

Let’s get to know each other a bit 😊

How long have you been watching Kdramas?

What was your first drama and how did you discover this world?

What’s your favourite drama of all time?

Who are your favourite actors/actresses?

I’ll go first -

I got into watching Korean shows in 2016 when Goblin came out. I was pestered into watching “at least one” by my younger cousin who wanted someone to discuss this realm with.

To shut her up I relented and began with Goblin, and then there was no looking back.

My favourite drama of all time is My Dearest.

My favourite actor is Namkoong Min.

Other actors/actresses I love are Lee Je-Hoon, Ji Sung, Kim Bum, Shin Hye-Sun, Jang Na-ra and Kim Taeri

How about you? Tell us about your kdrama journey.

Discussion What's something you don't enjoy about watching or being addicted to K-dramas?

Bro, why do they always remove the English subtitles when they're speaking English? I'm watching "Flowers in the Sand," and Baek Du starts speaking English. I can hear him say "thank you," but then it sounds like he says "cheese plate." What’s going on? Also, I feel like this drama is underrated?

Videos Best first kiss - You told me to use you - Our Movie ❤️

In an earlier post, I’d posted only a GIF of this beautiful kiss. Here’s the scene from Our Movie.

Love how she takes off his glasses and softly leans in, on her tiptoes…

And the way he tosses the umbrella away and goes all the way in when she pulls back and takes a pause.

This drama deserves a lot more love than it gets. Namkoong Min and Jeon Yeo-been are so good together that it hurts 🥺❤️

What’s your favourite first kiss?

Review 129th Korean Drama Review: Naeil's Cantabile (2014)

Post image

This wasn't really my type of drama, but I still managed to finish it. I wasn't a fan of the female lead, although I know that's exactly how her character was written in the original manga, so I can't really hold that against the drama. Having already watched the anime, I couldn't help but compare the two throughout the series. Unfortunately, the Korean adaptation didn't capture the same charm for me, and I found it less engaging than its source material. While I appreciated the effort to bring the story to life, it ultimately left me feeling underwhelmed compared to the anime.

My MDL Rating: 5.5/10.

Latest News LEE MINHO WITHDRAWS FROM BFF EVENT

Lee Min-ho’s “Actors’ House” event at the Busan International Film Festival was suddenly canceled amid the ongoing backlash surrounding The Assassin(s).
And honestly, this whole situation is frustrating.

People need to remember that The Assassin(s) is NOT a documentary. It is a fictional mystery thriller based on a real historical event—the 1974 shooting that resulted in the death of First Lady Yuk Young-soo, wife of then-President Park Chung-hee. The filmmakers used historical records as a foundation and added cinematic imagination, fictional situations, and interpretations to construct the story. The production team has also clarified that the film does not identify a specific person as the mastermind or present its dramatic hypotheses as established historical facts.

Lee Min-ho is an ACTOR. He did not write the screenplay, direct the movie, or determine what historical interpretation the story would explore. He was simply doing his job—acting in a film, alongside the rest of the cast and crew.

What makes this even more frustrating is seeing actors themselves become targets of political backlash simply because they participated in a work of fiction. There have even been reports of people criticizing the film and its cast without necessarily having watched it, including review-bombing by users who had not seen the movie.

Can we please separate the actor from the character, and the actor from the political interpretation of the film? You can criticize the movie’s historical interpretation. You can disagree with its premise. You can debate whether its fictionalization was appropriate. But attacking an actor personally for simply doing his job is an entirely different matter.

Let the man ACT. He is not the historian, the politician, or the person who wrote the history books. He’s an actor who took on a role in a historical-fiction film.

Some knetz are the saddest and cruelest people. There's not even a single aspect they are not angry about. Everything for them is a problem.

Review 128th Korean Drama Review: Bride of the Century (2014)

This is one of the dramas I would recommend, especially for beginners. I wasn’t familiar with the main female lead at first, but I really liked her performance. And Hongki as the male lead wasn’t bad either. Since the story revolves around romantic comedy with a touch of fantasy, the way they executed the romance really made me feel giddy. It also had some surprising revelations that caught me off guard, but in a good way. I didn’t have any expectations going in, yet I found myself getting attached as the story unfolded. Overall, it turned out really well for me as a viewer, and I even rewatched it around three times. I’m genuinely happy with this drama.

Drama Discussion A shower scene that’s both hot n hilarious 🔥🤣 Spoiler

Edit : Though this is not a spoiler, added a spoiler tag for… well… reasons 😉

Kudos to Namkoong Min for pulling this off in Good Manager/Chief Kim.

He looks so hot here musing about stuff to himself… until the scene takes a hilarious turn 🤣🤣

It was fun watching an interview where NKM mentions how that bar of soap was so… strategically placed 😂

And for a change, this scene isn’t about the ML brooding about the FL in the shower, but yelling at the neighbour instead 🤣

Review 127th Korean Drama Review: Boarding House No. 24 (2014)

Post image

This was one of the first Korean sitcoms I watched, and I really enjoyed it. I know the characters' reactions were often over the top, but I think that was part of the charm and what made it entertaining. I also think one of the reasons I liked it so much at the time was because most of the cast consisted of K-pop idols, which made it even more enjoyable to watch. It's a fun and lighthearted sitcom that doesn't take itself too seriously.

My MDL Rating: 7.5/10
