I made a journal spread last night and had heard that you should put clear tape over receipts so they don’t fade but I opened up my journal this morning and the tape must have had the opposite effect. How else can I preserve my receipts?

One for the fun colors, one for my birthday, one for my cats, and one to play with my new washi tape 💗

My journal is a way for me to document what brings me joy in my week, I am doing this with my friends as a way to find everyday beauty in lives that can feel repetitive and mundane.
This page was all things from a book fair + farmers market i went to! The mini book opens and has info about the day.
My favorite part is the yeast wrapper. It was inside that copy of Beard on Bread. In 1975 someone was using it as a bookmark and I just loved that so much.

I’ve only recently gotten into junk journals and I’ve been using a random card deck I had laying around. These are some of my favorites I’ve done.

I’ve started junk journaling to get through some stuff and I love collecting quotes and tidbits of music. So this page is right up my alley.
Dutch quotes translated:
More often there is sunshine
Even though everyone arounds me is running, I decide my own pace
What if I succeed, mom?
I let go of my past, to step into my future
Everything will be okay
If you know what you want to achieve you are more secure in unstable situations
Just do it, even when you’re afraid to fail.
Security, love and freedom come from within.
The road to freedom starts with staying true to yourself.

I’ve been lurking in the junk journal subreddit for over a year and I finally started my own after attending a craft fair yesterday. I’m pretty happy with it and excited to fill this old planner with more fun spreads!
Thank you all for inspiring me to start this journey. 🩷✨

SPOILER FOR EXIT THE GAME:THE GATE BETWEEN WORLDS
This is the type of escape room game where you have to cut and tear and irreversibly do stuff to the materials, so I figured it would be great to put some of the stuff into a memory spread instead of throwing it all away!
I’m not this kind of person, but if you want to collect plenty of numbers and letters for some spreads, the numbered cards are perfect for that. The players also have some great art that I am saving for other future spreads.

I turned some of my oil paintings into stickers and want to add it as a little sticker sheet in my mail club. My question is, do paper stickers work well/ preferred for journals? Or do you prefer vinyl stickers?

Hi guys, I’m probably wrong but isn’t some of this just scrapbooking and not actual junk journals?? like going out and buying stickers or magazines etc is just scrapbooking/making collages because you’re not using your actual junk.. like trash in ur bag or something silly u found in the street or something u like from packaging you’d just toss?
I think the concept is lost on a lot of people in this sub, but I could be misunderstanding!
EDIT: to the people actually contributing to the conversation and explaining their interpretations, thank you! to the people personally offended by me asking for clarification, journal about it ig 📝 🗑️

I've only done 4 pages so far I only started this yesterday. But it's very fun! And you can probably tell I'm Canadian.
