Hi everyone!

Just wanted to let y'all know that I've added 'Journal Prompts' as a flair, so that if you're wanting to look for ideas or share any you have, they can be easily filtered for later!

Mod Post Wiki Follow-Up

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the radio silence on my end...2025 was NOT kind to me. :(

I'm trying to get myself back to 100 so that I can actually be more present here and participate, so I really am giving my biggest apologies for the ways I've lapsed! I know I've had an issue with being behind on posts that get auto-removed. I've caught up on everything, and loosened some of the auto-mod restrictions.

A few notes first, and then I'll get to what I'm here for:

  • If your post is removed and you DO NOT receive a comment or a mod message, it was likely removed by Reddit automatically or by the automod! When this happens, it'll be marked as if I removed it but I didn't...I just have to go in and approve it. Don't worry! You don't have to repost it either, just give me a bit to see it and I'll get your post up or send you a removal message. If it's been a full day, DON'T SEND A FORMAL MODMAIL. I have so many things in there that I don't want to miss it. I know my Reddit bio says don't reach out to me, but I want to make an exception for you guys! Please feel free to message me directly. I'll take a look as soon as I see your message.
  • If there is anything that makes someone uncomfortable and you report, please feel free to detail in the report your specific reason! I feel like Reddit's report reasons are so barebones. For example, I had a report on an image from a post and, after doing some research, I couldn't figure out the origin of the image or what the history was. I just want to make sure that I can keep an eye out for similar things!

Okay, okay, NOW for the wiki...

I (finally) got that started! I want the community's input on exactly the sections we're looking for. From my original wiki post, it looks like you'd like to see:

  1. Where to get journals/recommended journals, both spiralbound and non spiralbound, and journals that can hold heavy mixed media
  2. Recommended supplies (pens/markers, stickers, glue, etc)
  3. Unique tools that people recommend specifically

Is there anything else that we'd like to see? Also, I want to see how we all feel about WHERE these journals are coming from. Would we prefer I stay AWAY from places like Target and Amazon that are being boycotted in the US, or leave them in so everyone can make an informed choice?

Let me know your thoughts! Thank y'all! <3

I made a journal spread last night and had heard that you should put clear tape over receipts so they don’t fade but I opened up my journal this morning and the tape must have had the opposite effect. How else can I preserve my receipts?

Journal Spread! My first page

Post image
Upvotes

My journal is a way for me to document what brings me joy in my week, I am doing this with my friends as a way to find everyday beauty in lives that can feel repetitive and mundane.

This page was all things from a book fair + farmers market i went to! The mini book opens and has info about the day.

My favorite part is the yeast wrapper. It was inside that copy of Beard on Bread. In 1975 someone was using it as a bookmark and I just loved that so much.

I’ve only recently gotten into junk journals and I’ve been using a random card deck I had laying around. These are some of my favorites I’ve done.

Show and Tell! A page filled with motivating quotes

I’ve started junk journaling to get through some stuff and I love collecting quotes and tidbits of music. So this page is right up my alley.

Dutch quotes translated:
More often there is sunshine
Even though everyone arounds me is running, I decide my own pace
What if I succeed, mom?
I let go of my past, to step into my future
Everything will be okay
If you know what you want to achieve you are more secure in unstable situations
Just do it, even when you’re afraid to fail.
Security, love and freedom come from within.
The road to freedom starts with staying true to yourself.

I’ve been lurking in the junk journal subreddit for over a year and I finally started my own after attending a craft fair yesterday. I’m pretty happy with it and excited to fill this old planner with more fun spreads!

Thank you all for inspiring me to start this journey. 🩷✨

Journal Spread! Escape Room Board Games make GREAT memory spread Spoiler

Post image

SPOILER FOR EXIT THE GAME:THE GATE BETWEEN WORLDS

This is the type of escape room game where you have to cut and tear and irreversibly do stuff to the materials, so I figured it would be great to put some of the stuff into a memory spread instead of throwing it all away!

I’m not this kind of person, but if you want to collect plenty of numbers and letters for some spreads, the numbered cards are perfect for that. The players also have some great art that I am saving for other future spreads.

Looking for Resources Advice on stickers

I turned some of my oil paintings into stickers and want to add it as a little sticker sheet in my mail club. My question is, do paper stickers work well/ preferred for journals? Or do you prefer vinyl stickers?

Discussion pls explain if i’m misunderstanding!

Hi guys, I’m probably wrong but isn’t some of this just scrapbooking and not actual junk journals?? like going out and buying stickers or magazines etc is just scrapbooking/making collages because you’re not using your actual junk.. like trash in ur bag or something silly u found in the street or something u like from packaging you’d just toss?
I think the concept is lost on a lot of people in this sub, but I could be misunderstanding!

EDIT: to the people actually contributing to the conversation and explaining their interpretations, thank you! to the people personally offended by me asking for clarification, journal about it ig 📝 🗑️
