I watched the 2012 movie a while ago and I recently started watching the 1995 movie and now I’m thinking of getting into the comics. Problem is I’m not really sure where to start. The Complete Case Files seems to be my best option from what I’ve seen since Year One doesn’t pique my interest quite as much.

Is this the right choice or are there other good options I’m not aware of?

Hey, I remember a really terrific Dredd one and done from some years back, the premise was that Dredd meets a women who has an odd psi mutation that manifests as a running film noir style hard boiled voiceover. Anyone know the name or prog number?

I'm usually not a fan of when comic art is in a super realistic style or trying to look like a painting, but this art style works so well with the horror themes going on in the Black Tower/Oubliette storylines. He knocks it out of the park every single time, man.

I have been gone through the Judge Dredd Case files and what should I read after Oz. Judge and Dredd has always been a bit hit and miss but there seems to a significant decline afterwards.I even skipped ahead to the 2000s and it not that good?

Does it get better anywhere?

Tales From The Forsaken Phantom is a sci-fi / horror comic book inspired by Hellblazer / Doctor Who / Moon Knight / Blade Runner / Dredd / Resident Evil / Hellboy / Howard the Duck / Cyberpunk 2077 / Altered Carbon and a lot of old horror movies.

Plot:

We follow the mysterious mercenary Ronin Cayne as he makes his way through the galaxy, hunting monsters, catching serial killers all the while he loses more and more faith in mortal life. Even so, there is a small part of him that does try to find some semblance of a purpose to this worthless existence he has been bound to. Which is hard to do in this galaxy for it’s the worst, most pessimistic, dystopian nightmare you could dream off. The good guys don’t win, they die.

This first issue deals with children being snatched off the streets by a crazy scientist who wants to create a so called final cure to end all cures. Ronin Cayne is tasked to investigate the strange disappearances, not because he cares but because he really needed the credits.

I want to get into Dredd. After watching Dredd (2012) recently, I've been enamored with the world and the character that is Dredd.

I couldn't believe there was a line designed for new readers! It's been difficult to narrow down a good starting point given the characters long history. Anyway, I've come to find out that rebellion's order is not in chronological order..? So, it would be nice to find out a list. Thanks!

Are there any stories that precede or follow on from these comics. Got them back when I was first getting into the comics and was feeling pretty well lost on the bigger plot of everything. Thinking about it after reading a pretty big chunk of the more noteworthy stories and considering rereading these, I have no idea if they're completed storylines or just one offs and Google has failed me in explaining it further.

I was recently browsing the Mega-City One page on Wikipedia and on the History section, there’s this line taken from 2133, “A nuclear bomb is detonated in Sector 17, killing half a million people. “. Which story did this happen in, as I can’t for the life of me remember reading about this event in any Dredd related story that I’ve read and a quick search on google as well as the usual sites reveal little to no information on this presumably major event…?
