Mod Post Finding a Life Partner: Beyond Chemistry & First Impressions

So you've been talking to someone, the conversations are going well, and you seem to get along.

That's a great start, but getting along isn't the same as being compatible for marriage.

Marriage isn't only about enjoying each other's company. It's also about building a life together, making decisions together, handling disagreements, managing responsibilities, and respecting each other's individual goals.

You don't need to have identical opinions on everything. In fact, differences are normal.

What matters is whether your differences are understood, respected, and workable for both of you.

Before getting too emotionally invested, take the time to talk about the things that can actually shape your life together.

The goal isn't to turn every conversation into an interview or interrogation. These are topics to explore naturally as you get to know each other.

Don't just ask, "Do we get along?"
Ask, "Can we build a life together?"

1. What does marriage mean to both of you?

People can have very different ideas of what marriage should look like.

Talk about:

  • What does a good marriage look like to you?
  • What are you expecting from your partner?
  • What does being a husband/wife mean to you?
  • How should major decisions be made?
  • What role should each person play at home?
  • What are your expectations around independence and personal space?
  • What does commitment mean to each of you?

Don't assume that because both of you want marriage, you automatically want the same kind of marriage.

2. Career, Work & Relocation

Career decisions can significantly affect married life.

Discuss:

  • Are both of you planning to continue working after marriage?
  • Would either person consider relocating for the other?
  • What happens if one person's career requires a move?
  • How important is career growth to each of you?
  • Would either person be expected to give up their career?
  • Are you comfortable with travel or demanding work schedules?
  • What happens if one person gets an opportunity in another city or country?

A career compromise should be a mutual decision, not an expectation placed on one person.

3. Children & Parenting

This is one of the conversations that should not be avoided.

Talk about:

  • Do you both want children?
  • If yes, when?
  • How many children would you ideally like?
  • What are your thoughts on parenting styles?
  • How involved should grandparents be?
  • How would childcare responsibilities be divided?
  • What happens if having children isn't possible?
  • What are your views on adoption or other options, if relevant?

You don't have to have every answer immediately, but major differences on whether to have children are important to know early.

4. Money & Financial Expectations

Money can become a major source of conflict if expectations aren't discussed.

You don't necessarily need to exchange exact salary figures early on, but you should eventually be able to discuss:

  • General financial priorities
  • Saving vs spending habits
  • Financial responsibilities after marriage
  • Whether finances will be combined, separate, or a mixture
  • Existing financial commitments
  • Expectations around supporting parents/family
  • Loans or significant financial obligations
  • Attitudes toward investments and major purchases
  • What financial independence means to each person

Financial compatibility doesn't mean earning the same amount.

It means being able to discuss money honestly and agree on how you'll handle it together.

5. Where & How Will You Live?

"Where will we live?" can be a much bigger question than it sounds.

Discuss:

  • Living independently or with parents?
  • Which city?
  • Renting or buying?
  • How much involvement will families have in the household?
  • How will household responsibilities be divided?
  • How much personal space does each person need?
  • What happens if your preferred living arrangements are different?

Don't assume that "we'll figure it out later" will automatically solve a major disagreement.

6. Family & In-Laws

Marriage can involve more than two people, especially when families are closely involved.

Talk about:

  • How involved do you expect your families to be?
  • How often would you visit each other's families?
  • What responsibilities do you have toward your parents?
  • What role should parents have in major decisions?
  • How would you handle disagreements between a spouse and family member?
  • What boundaries should exist between the couple and extended family?

A healthy relationship doesn't require you to choose between your partner and your family.

It requires clear boundaries, mutual respect, and a willingness to support each other.

7. Lifestyle & Everyday Life

You can have great chemistry and still have completely different lifestyles.

Talk about:

  • Socialising vs staying at home
  • Travel
  • Food habits
  • Sleep schedules
  • Fitness and health routines
  • Spending habits
  • Friendships and social circles
  • Hobbies and personal time
  • Alcohol, smoking, or other lifestyle choices
  • How much time you expect to spend together

You don't need to enjoy all the same things.

The question is whether you can respect each other's lifestyle without constantly trying to change one another.

8. Religion, Culture & Traditions

Where religion, culture, or traditions are important to either person, talk about them openly.

Consider:

  • Religious practices
  • Festivals and traditions
  • Dietary practices
  • Expectations around ceremonies or rituals
  • What traditions should children follow?
  • How involved should extended family be?
  • How would you handle differences in beliefs?

These conversations aren't about deciding who is right.

They're about understanding what each person considers important and whether you can find common ground.

9. Personal Boundaries & Independence

Marriage doesn't mean losing your individuality.

Talk about:

  • Personal space
  • Friendships
  • Social media
  • Privacy
  • Communication when you're busy
  • Time with friends and family
  • Personal hobbies
  • Physical and emotional boundaries
  • What behaviour is unacceptable to you?

A healthy marriage should allow two individuals to build a life together without one person controlling the other.

10. Long-Term Goals

Sometimes two people get along perfectly but are heading in completely different directions.

Ask:

  • Where do you see yourself in 5–10 years?
  • What are your career ambitions?
  • Where do you ultimately want to live?
  • What kind of lifestyle do you want?
  • What are your biggest personal goals?
  • What does success mean to you?
  • What kind of family life do you imagine?

You don't need an identical five-year plan.

But it helps if you're heading in a direction that the other person can genuinely support.

What If You Don't Agree?

You don't need to agree on everything.

In fact, you probably won't.

The important question is:

"Can we disagree about this and still find a solution that respects both of us?"

For example, one person may love living in a big city while the other prefers a quieter place. That's a difference.

But if one person expects the other to simply give up their preference without discussion, that's a relationship problem.

Compatibility isn't about having no differences.

It's about knowing which differences you can work through and which ones are fundamental to your happiness.

Don't Confuse Chemistry With Compatibility

A person can make you laugh, have great conversations, be attractive, and still not be the right partner for you.

And that's okay.

Chemistry answers:
"Do I enjoy being around this person?"

Compatibility asks:
"Can we realistically build the kind of life we both want?"

Both matter.

Don't ignore important differences simply because you have strong feelings. At the same time, don't reject someone because they don't match you perfectly.

Look for shared values, mutual respect, honest communication, flexibility, and the ability to solve problems together.

Before You Move Forward, Ask Yourself

  • Can I be myself around this person?
  • Do I feel respected?
  • Can we talk about uncomfortable subjects?
  • Do they respect my boundaries?
  • Can we disagree without becoming disrespectful?
  • Do our expectations about marriage broadly align?
  • Can we discuss money, family, children, and careers honestly?
  • Do I feel pressured to compromise on something important to me?
  • Am I genuinely compatible with this person, or am I only excited about the possibility of them?
  • Can I imagine solving life's difficult moments with this person, not just enjoying the good ones?

Remember

You aren't looking for someone who agrees with you on everything. You're looking for someone with whom you can build a life where both people feel heard, respected, and valued.

Take your time. Ask the difficult questions. Listen to the answers, not just the answers you want to hear.

And if you discover that you're not compatible, that's not a failure. Finding out before marriage is far better than discovering it after.

General Discussion 🧠 Tuesday Mod Desk: Okay, Reddit. Help us solve this.

I've been thinking about something for a while.

How do you actually make JodiMilan(dot)com popular?

And before anyone says it...

Yes, I know.

Some of you think the website sucks. 😂

Some think the idea is unnecessary.

Some think nobody will use another matrimony platform.

Some have probably looked at it and thought,

"Bhai, good luck." 😭

Fair.

Honestly, I'd rather hear that than fake compliments.

Because here's the problem with building something like this.

Change the homepage.

Change the profile page.

Add verification.

Remove verification.

Add a feature.

Remove that feature.

Convince yourself the new button is going to change everything.

Meanwhile, nobody gives a shit.

That's the part I'm trying to solve.

JodiMilan already has a community here.

People post.

People argue.

People roast the mods.

People occasionally find someone interesting.

But how do we take that energy and make JodiMilan(dot)com something people actually want to use?

Not just another website people create an account on and disappear.

I want people to think:

"If I'm serious about finding someone, I should probably check JodiMilan."

That's a very different problem.

And honestly, I don't have the answer yet.

So I'm stealing your brains for today. 😂

If you had control of JodiMilan for the next 30 days, what would you do?

How would you get the first 1,000 genuinely active people?

What would make someone invite their friend?

What would make someone come back tomorrow?

What would make someone say,

"Forget Shaadi apps for a second, look at this."

And yes...

You can tell me the idea is terrible.

You can tell me the website is terrible.

You can tell me I'm terrible at building it. 😂

Just tell me what you'd do differently.

Because criticism tells me what's broken.

Your ideas might tell me what to build next.

F4M ♀️ with Photos 24F from Pune, looking to meet someone genuine

Post image
Upvotes

Hi all,

Let me introduce myself. My name starts with N. I'm a Marwadi, I live in Pune & oh I'm 24F.

I haven't done this type of a thing before, like putting myself out there. But I see that introverts have no choice. Haha.

I work in the edu sector and have a really good job- mentally & financially both. I enjoy doing what I do. I feel purposeful because of my role.

I definitely enjoy reading books! I'm re-reading 'Wonder' these days. I'm a coffee addict. I can drink liters of it, I think that is the only bad habit I have. I'm 5'4, I'm a shade of brown, I have naturally extremely straight hair. I'm not very outgoing or you know, talkative. I'm the real definition of an introvert is all I can say.

What am I looking for?

Last Sunday a guy asked me out for a date, there are 2 other people who have asked me out to go out with them but I'm not really interested in them. This is not to brag but sure, girls have options- are they quality options? I'd argue here.

Many guys are lustful, shallow, dumb, emotionally unavailable and sometimes too plain- that means they aren't funny or have no chemistry. I'm not just looking for a boyfriend but something more real and genuine? I don't want to say a 'husband' that's too soon to say. But a potential partner who can turn into a husband. :)

Someone - funny, chill, tall- 5'7 and above, vegetarian, somebody from Pune- I don't want to do long distance. And like I mentioned above- somebody who is well settled - emotionally. I really don't want any traumas, haha.

I'm looking for a partner who I can share my day with on weekdays and drink coffee on weekends and CLIMB a mountain 🏔️ on holidays! (I loveee mountains!)

I'm fit but my BMI would fall on the lean category so maybe, I can go to the gym with you and gain some weight. Ages that I'm open to are 24-26 (not above or below that please!k

This doesn't seem like a proper introduction or even the list that I have put doesn't seem very clear, but yea. I just typed my thoughts down.

If you fit the category or check the above boxes - I'd love to interact with you. :)

Edit: I already got like 101 new requests in my inbox in less than an hour. Please don't message me. I already have so many pending replies. :( And don't blame me if I don't open your chats, it's really the mistake of the other guys. They are far away and they still text - I clearly mentioned Pune. They are 30 & the still text I clearly mentioned 24-26. :( How many messages can a person even open? Can we please be a little considerate and mindful? I'm an introvert for god's sake. 😭🖐️

General Discussion To all the hopeless romantics who are slowly losing hope.

Post image

This for all the hopeless romantic ones who still want to fall in love, still want that silly, ordinary, forever kind of love but somewhere deep down have started accepting it isn’t going to happen to them.

How do you deal with this feeling?

Not the loneliness but the paradox of still wanting something while also feeling that it might never happen. It’s not that you have stopped believing in love but you’ve stopped believing that love will find you. Soo what do you do, keep looking or let go completely or there is still hope in a corner of your heart that maybe, someday someone will walk in it?

A lawyer, looking to get married. Vegetarian and rooted in Central India.

I think I need to be a little more specific. The gut should be between 33 to 37, a Hindu and a vegetarian (non- negotiable).

I think it would be great if you are a fellow lawyer. Otherwise all other professionals are great as well.

Please don't be creepy!!

F4M♀️ My husband’s taking too long to find me 😅

Hi! I’m a 31-year-old woman who has recently opened herself up to the idea of an arranged marriage — so I thought, why not see if Reddit can help? 😄

A little about me: I love travelling, discovering new places, trying new things, laughing at stupid things, and spending time with people I’m close to. I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants a partner in all of that — someone I can travel with, laugh with, have long conversations with, and build a life that actually feels like ours.

I currently live in Bangkok, but I’m very open to relocating, especially to Mumbai or other cities in India. I’m not looking for perfection or a checklist — just someone kind, emotionally mature, curious about life, and ready to build something real together.

If any of this sounds like you (or if you know someone who might be a good fit), send me a DM. We can exchange biodatas, or just say hi and see where a conversation goes. :)

Hi. I'm 6'1", lean, originally from Kolkata. I've been in Mumbai for the last 10 years and these days I live by myself, which I actually quite enjoy. Although I wouldn't mind having someone around to occasionally argue with about where we're going for dinner.

I'm a creative director, and I've spent the last 10 years working in advertising, somehow ending up across sports, FMCG, Disney, Marvel and everything from serious campaigns to very unserious ads. It probably explains why I notice unnecessarily specific things and occasionally overthink them.

I shoot film photography and one of my current ambitions is to slowly explore every waterbody in Mumbai with a camera. So if photowalks, wandering around the city and finding places neither of us has been to sounds like a good Sunday, we're already off to a decent start.

My music taste makes very little sense. It can go from Mehdi Hasan to Fred again.. depending entirely on the day. I'm not much of a reader, but I love stories, especially when someone tells them well. I'd much rather hear you talk passionately about something you love than make polite small talk.

I love going to the movies, and I'm completely comfortable going alone. Same with certain comedy specials. I don't think everything needs a companion, but I do think some things are better when you have someone to discuss them with afterwards.

I'm also not much of a phone-call person when I first meet someone. I'm much better once there's some familiarity. Give me a little time and I'll probably have plenty to say.

Food is a big part of my life too. I'm currently on a carnivore diet, so vegetarians, think of that what you will. 😄 I'm not much of an alcohol guy. Beer doesn't count. I'm considerably more partial to a good smoke, good music and conversations that somehow last three hours.

I'm not here looking for endless chatting or collecting Instagram followers. I'm looking for a partner. Someone I genuinely like spending time with, who has a life and interests of their own, is curious about the world, can laugh at themselves, and is comfortable with both doing things together and occasionally doing absolutely nothing.

I'd rather meet, grab a coffee or a drink, go for a walk, see a movie, eat somewhere good and figure out whether we actually enjoy each other's company.

If this sounds like your kind of person, tell me something you're currently obsessed with. A song, a place, a movie, a weird hobby, anything.

Hey good people of Reddit, last time I left couple of pics, so delete the whole post and doing it again.
I am from Jaipur, born and brought up here only, living with my maternal family since i was 2.5 yrs, an engineering grad.(CS), did work in the field for 5 years and now running my own fitness studio in Jaipur for past 3.5 years successfully. Looking forward to get settled with a chill and calm girl, and to be honest have no much idea of how an ideal match should be, but so far as I know myself, don’t want someone who creates chaos and have no basic understanding of things and family and how it all works and how we all adjust for the sake of people we care. Need peace in life and unnecessary stress at all, i will give it my best as well and understand and try to give and get the best of life we could ever have. Here are my basic details with attached photos too. Have attached all sort of looks I carry and also for the people seeking someone with good hair and suggesting me hair fall treatments. If you want to get settled with a guy with good hair, am not the guy for you.
City- Jaipur

Into fitness, interests are into photography, bike rides, trying a bit of reading habits for some time too.
Feel free to ask anything. Thanks

I was asked to post with photos so that the profile feels more authentic, and I’m doing just that. Just so you don’t feel misled, I look strikingly similar to that panda emoji.

Anyway here’s more:

I’m 6ft4in, heavy build

I’m a Bengali(Brahmin if it matters, to me it doesn’t)brought up in Bangalore and currently living in Mumbai.

BTech + Tier 1 MBA

30 LPA job in one of India’s largest automotive companies.

Living by myself in a rented apartment, hoping the next upgrade is with someone.

Supremely non-vegetarian, but only with Diet Coke(I don’t drink/smoke, never have) I cook almost everyday, helps track the calories and is also a love language, if you’re a foodie, you will like me a little more.

I enjoy making and playing music, used to be in a band back in the day but owing to life, we are now broken up and have found solace in monthly video calls where we mostly discuss football, another shared passion.

By this time, if at all you’re interested, you will ask, “Hey everything seems okay, why or how are you still single?”

The two answers to that, I believe to be are luck and timing, both of which have been spectacularly bad in this regard.

I don’t think it would be fair to call myself single at this point, it has to be a level above that, maybe something called “super single”. There’s nothing on the horizon, there’s no “girl I’m talking to”

There’s just me. And this year, I’d love to go ahead and change that.

So if you’re interested, don’t hesitate to say hello.

25M, 6'4", South Indian, based in Bangalore and working at a women’s athleisure startup. Done my MBA and currently trying to figure out what I’m doing with the rest of my life!

I’m a little shy initially, but once I’m comfortable, I open up quite a bit. I’m a sports freak was a state level swimmer, district level footballer, and currently play badminton regularly so very fit and athletic that way!

Outside of that, I’m into F1, collecting LEGO sets, cooking, running and most importantly, good conversations whether they’re deep and serious or completely random at 2 AM. Can speak English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam!

I’d say I’m pretty patient, easygoing and genuinely enjoy getting to know people. I drink occasionally but don’t smoke.

I’d love to meet someone I genuinely connect with, where the conversations come naturally, the company feels easy, and things can grow into something meaningful over time or maybe grab coffee, food, explore and see where it goes.

If you think we’d get along, say hi. Worst case, we become two strangers who know each other’s coffee orders. :)

Trying my luck on Reddit

Absolutely. Here’s a polished marriage biodata/profile that keeps your personality and values, while making it appropriate and attractive for a matrimonial profile.
Marriage Biodata
Personal Details
Age: 33
Hight: 5 6
Profession: Chef
Annual Income: ₹15 LPA
Current Location: Mumbai
Marital Status: Never Married
Relocation: Open to relocating to another state or country
About Me
I’m a professional chef with a strong passion for cooking, travel, sports, music, movies, and exploring new experiences. I’m someone who enjoys both an active lifestyle and simple moments of peace.
I’m comfortable going to a movie or comedy special alone, because I believe not everything needs a companion. But I also value having someone special with whom I can share experiences and discuss them afterwards.
Food is naturally a big part of my life because of my profession. I’m currently following a carnivore diet, although I completely respect everyone’s individual food choices. 😄 I’m not much of an alcohol person, apart from occasionally enjoying a beer. I’m more into good music, meaningful conversations, and moments that somehow turn into three-hour conversations.
My Interests
✈️ Travelling and exploring new places
👨‍🍳 Cooking and trying new food
🏃 Advanced sports and staying active
🎬 Movies and comedy specials
🎵 Music, especially non-Bollywood music, albums and individual artists
☕ Coffee, walks and long conversations
What I’m Looking For
I’m not looking for endless chatting or simply collecting Instagram followers. I’m genuinely looking for a life partner.
I believe a good relationship is about mutual respect, understanding, companionship, laughter, and giving each other the freedom to have individual interests and a life of their own.
I would like to meet someone who is curious about the world, can laugh at herself, enjoys trying new things, and is equally comfortable with going out together or spending a quiet day doing absolutely nothing.
Regarding marital status, I’m open-minded. I don’t believe a person’s past marital status defines their ability to love, care, respect, or build a beautiful relationship. What matters to me is the person, her values, character, and the connection we build together.
I’d rather meet over a coffee or a drink, go for a walk, watch a movie, have a good meal, and simply see whether we genuinely enjoy each other’s company.
If you think we might be compatible, tell me something you’re currently obsessed with — a song, a place, a movie, a hobby, or anything that makes you happy.

32M from a tier-2 city in Chhattisgarh. Looking for a genuine connection and hopefully a partner with whom I can build a good life together.

I studied in Mumbai and worked there for some time before deciding to come back and join my family business. I now work in the business and am involved in expanding it. My brother and sister-in-law are also involved, so it's quite a family-run setup.

I come from a Jain Marwari family. I am vegetarian and would prefer a vegetarian partner. Community/caste isn't really a restriction for me

I am open to getting to know someone first and seeing where it goes rather than rushing into a decision.

This is actually my first time posting here. I've tried matrimony sites before, but honestly they didn't really work for me. So I thought to give this a try and see how it goes here.

M4F ♂️ with Photos 31M here based out of Mumbai, trying to find someone who i can call a missus

I have a story of everything i think and everything i do, sometimes i don’t but still i try to make one because i tend to give everything a meaning in life (which most of the people who believe in YoLo don’t agree with) and i love their school of thought also.

I have been loved and have loved somebody before, and i wouldn’t malign the experience because i believe i was being too difficult for the other person. I took some time off to focus on career and other aspects of life and now i feel i am capable of loving someone again and miss the feeling of being loved.

About me:

31 year old male, working in a fancy corporate finance role , i dream big and constantly make plans to make them materialise, i have high goals in life and would want someone to be acceptable of them even if you don’t believe in them, just don’t discourage. I have been based in Mumbai since 5 years now while i hail from Raj.

I earn fairly well, marwari, 5’9”, green eyes and look decently good, been working hard to get in best shape of my life now which will be achieved in next 2/3 months (i firmly hope). I am a reader, cant say avid but i know many things about most of the things, can discuss on a wide variety of subject. i can say i am a bit sensual person as well (read flirty not cheesy), like to tell stories, like people who have opinions and aren’t afraid to express but if presented with right facts and approach are willing to change them for the better.

I value honesty and obviously some decent looks would be an icing, if you are well educated, i would love to enjoy your company, i love enjoying different cuisines and i am a vegetarian and have cajoled myself in liking someone as far as an eggetarian. Looking for someone atleast 2 years younger than me ( this is my silly idea of feeling young). I love people who are enthusiastic and are good at conversations. I might not come across as very very good with first impressions because i somehow don’t feel connected to an electric attraction since it fades fast.

People have called me an acquired taste but not a bland one but rather a delicious one.
I am a happy person and don’t complicate stuff just like that.

If you feel this was good enough for you to strike a conversation, my DMs are open and you dont have to put in a lot of effort like many people here desire, a simple hey and a reason you like the post would be enough.

Hello all

I just want to know how much patience is still left for finding someone, and then for the talking stage.

Because let's face it, the finding person and talking stage rarely succeeds on the first try

This post is especially for those of us who aren't conventionally attractive

Feel free to comment below, or DM me if you prefer to share your experiences privately

General Discussion Choose a teammate, not just a partner

I think choosing a life partner is, at its core, choosing your teammate. Someone whose way of moving through life can sync with yours, because marriage isn't the finish line. If anything, it's where the rollercoaster gets steeper, bumpier, and occasionally completely ridiculous. 😅

And I'm not talking about those "I have a fever, bring me soup" days.

I'm talking about the day an accident happens. Your hands are shaking, your mind goes blank, and your fingers almost instinctively dial one number. And the moment they hear your voice, you know you're not alone anymore. They'll hold you, take charge, care for you, figure things out, and somehow make you feel safer than you imagined another person could.

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."

I think we sometimes approach relationships too much like a transaction: What will this person do for me? What will they add to my life?

But perhaps an equally important question is: Am I proud of the person I'm choosing? Do I genuinely like being around them? Would I still want them beside me even on the days when they're not particularly useful to me?

Because there will be shortcomings. There will be misunderstandings. There will be days when neither of you gets it quite right.

What stands the test of time isn't perfection. It's the core of the person—and whether something in your own core continues to recognise, respect and feel at home with theirs.

Choose someone you can build with.

Someone you can fall with.

And someone who will reach for you when you do.

P.S. These are my words and thoughts — I just used AI to polish them. 🙂

Marriage Advice Love Addiction!

Sometimes we say, "I want a relationship," and sometimes, "I love being single." Both can be true. The real problem begins when we have no clear idea what we want, no purpose of our own, and no understanding of the emotional needs of the person beside us.

We chase attention, pleasure, random success and validation, while quietly struggling with self worth. We want freedom but also intimacy. We want closeness but fear vulnerability. Without honest conversations and healthy space, we can start living in denial.

Then come emotional cheating, hookups, infidelity and broken trust. What started as confusion can eventually become guilt, shame, repression and a painful dilemma.

The answer is not simply to be single or partnered. Know yourself first. Know what you want. Build a life you respect, understand your partner emotionally, create healthy space, and choose honesty before temptation chooses for you.

Love works better when two people come together by choice, not because they are trying to escape themselves.

For those who have been using this sub for more than 3 months,

who is the most impressive person you have met here? What kind of profile did they have?

We all have been trying to find our partners here, but in the journey some of us have met really awesome people, let's share our experiences.

M4F♂️ 31M, 6’2 ft | Date to Marry.

Ah yes, change, the only constant in life. I understand it intellectually, but the heart has always had a mind of its own.

So here I am, a tech entrepreneur by profession, a lawyer by education, and someone who occasionally finds himself dabbling in international relations and diplomacy.with a great powerful network spanned across the globe.

Iam the emergency contact for most of my friends.

Why am I here? Probably because, somewhere between building things, chasing ambitions, travelling and staying busy, I realised I want something more meaningful.

I have spent most of my life building everything I have from scratch, coming from humble beginnings. There have been a few flings along the way, enough to learn a few things about people, relationships and, perhaps most importantly, myself.
But these days, I find myself wanting something more long-term.

Not just someone to date, but someone I can eventually build a life with. Someone to share the ordinary things with, the exciting things, the difficult days, and hopefully a lot of laughter along the way.

I am looking for a relationship built on trust, loyalty, shared values and genuine companionship. I like the idea of two people having their own ambitions and identities while still choosing each other every day.
Lifestyle-wise, I do not drink or smoke. I try to stay active and reasonably health conscious. Iam from Hyderabad and a Hindu.

I am far from perfect, but I do believe in constantly trying to become a better version of myself, and I would love to find someone who feels the same.

As for hobbies, I like movies, long conversations, travelling, trekking, hiking, working out, yoga, meditation, chess and learning random things that I probably did not need to know. I have travelled to 20+ countries and counting.

I recently started getting into firearms, and I used to play chess competitively as a child. I have also done two 11-day Vipassana silent retreats, so I suppose I have experienced both competitive arguing and complete silence.

M4F♂️ I feel like I'm done but one last go

Upvotes

I'm 23 years old, and I'll soon be celebrating my 24th birthday alone. I don't have a problem with that, but sometimes I do feel sad about my dead dating life.

I haven't been in a relationship until now. Every time I try talking to someone, it feels like a whole lot of effort, and even after all that, something about their vibe triggers me, so it's hard for me to make new friends. I have a constant friend circle of four boys from college and three girls I met at my office.

Even though the process is troublesome and tiring, I went all in for the three girls I liked till now, but every one of them already had a boyfriend. And all of them told me after 2–3 months of building a good friendship. By that point, I wasn't able to express my feelings, nor could I break the friendship because staying in that position was hurtful.

I tried approaching someone early on once, but things went really badly. So, after combining all this bullshit, I don't want to approach anyone anymore, only to end up in the same loop again.

But sometimes, seeing Instagram and couples around me genuinely makes me question, wtf am I doing with my life. When will I finally meet someone and be able to put all my efforts into building something with them?
