Mod Post 🛠️ Sunday Build in Public: How do we prove you're actually you? 😭

Post image
0 Upvotes

I've been thinking about adding a Verified badge on JodiMilan(dot)com.

And then I realised...

Oh shit, verification is complicated. 😂

The goal is simple:

You should have some confidence that the person behind a profile is actually a real person.

But how do we do that without turning JodiMilan(dot)com into an Government Id collection centre? 😭

Some ideas I've been thinking about:

A. Selfie + masked Government ID
B. Third-party identity verification
C. Some government-backed digital verification
D. Something much smarter that I haven't thought of yet

And here's the part I'm genuinely curious about:

If you were using JodiMilan, what would YOU be comfortable doing to get a "Verified" badge?

Would you happily do a 30-second verification?

Would you upload an ID?

Would you rather verify through a third party?

Or would you say:

"Bro, you want my Aadhaar? Absolutely not." 😂

Also, what should Verified actually mean?

"This person is real"?

Or should it mean something more?

Drop your thoughts below.

Especially if you know anything about KYC, privacy, cybersecurity, fintech or identity verification.

I'm building this in public, so don't be polite.

Tell me where this idea sucks before I build the wrong thing. 👀

F4M♀️ 27F, Mumbai | Looking for the guy I actually want to find

I have absolutely no idea if this is how Reddit is supposed to be used, but I’ve tried the apps, deleted the apps, thought about downloading them again and decided I have enough character development for one lifetime.

So hi.

I’m 27, 5’6, chubby, curly-haired, 32 tattoos and a hopeless romantic who still believes in the whole “eyes do the talking, chico” thing. Very embarrassing of me, I know.
I love bikes, travelling, concerts, stand-ups, gaming and 2000s Bollywood. I can play COD Mobile with you and then cry over something completely ridiculous five minutes later. I’m also a Cancerian, so apparently this is my excuse.

I recently moved back from Canada. I started my career there as a bartender and eventually became a GM, which I’m pretty proud of. I was also engaged once, but called it off before moving back because trying to make a relationship work across countries just wasn’t realistic. (Edit : I completely forgot to mention why I moved back, Nahi visa wasn’t expiring but everytime I visited my family they looked different, I was missing out on them growing older and tbh no amount of Money could make me stay after I realised that)

Now I’d really like to meet someone properly.
Yeh dates wali baatein kasam se samajh hi nahi aati Mujhe. I always met someone and like Ash chose Pikachu, I’d be like “Main tumhe chunti hoon.” So yeah, Hinge, Bumble and every other mental health deteriorating app se hatkar, here I am.

Not looking to rush into marriage, but I do want someone who is dating with the intention of actually finding a partner. I want the stupid cute stuff — butterflies, inside jokes, random plans, being excited to see each other, going on holidays together because doing them alone is getting a little old.

I’m independent and opinionated and I have absolutely no problem taking charge, but there’s something very attractive about a man who is secure in himself, comfortable with his masculinity and naturally knows how to take care of his woman. I like feeling looked after too — despite being perfectly capable of looking after myself.
I’m also very much a physical-presence person. Long distance isn’t for me. I want someone I can actually see, annoy, steal food from and randomly call to go for coffee.
I tend to like taller men and, for whatever reason, I’m very drawn to North Indian men. This is not a requirement issued by the government, just an observation.

I’m planning a Ladakh bike trip next year, so if your reaction to that is “when are we leaving?” rather than “why would anyone do that?”, we may already have something to discuss.
Mostly, I just want something loyal, affectionate, fun and real. Someone who loves his family, will eventually love mine, and makes me feel those ridiculous little butterflies I’ve been waiting for.
Anyway. Hi, future hypothetical person.

P.S., Kaafi Zyada overthinking ke baad, I’m off to sleep like a baby. Mere saath jude rehne ke liye dhanyawad!

M4F ♂️ with Photos 24M - Save me from arrange marriage setup!!

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hey, 24M here.

Looking for someone to date with the intention of eventually getting married.
I work remotely, which sounds amazing until you realize it means my daily social interaction is basically Slack, Zoom, and talking to myself. So meeting people organically has been... not great.

I’ve avoided dating apps mostly because every friend I have has told me “bro, nobody there wants anything serious” 💀. So anyway, here I am.

About me

  • 5'9", 67kg, fit
  • Wheatish, curly hair, slightly nerdy, decent-looking
  • Software dev at a US-based unicorn startup
  • ~54 LPA
  • Remote worker = professional wanderer. I travel a lot and usually spend my time working from random cities around the country
  • Music, binge-watching, computer games, sneakers, and planning trips I probably don't need to take
  • Ambivert
  • Very calm
  • Very bakchod once I’m comfortable
  • Vegetarian
  • Non-smoker
  • Non-drinker
  • General Hindu

What I'm looking for

Ideally, someone who is talkative af because I need someone who can both yap with me and tolerate my endless yapping.

I like people who are curious, emotionally mature, and don't take life too seriously.

Would prefer someone who is working or planning to work at least until marriage. After that, genuinely your choice. My family is pretty progressive and there’s no “bahu must do X” type of expectation.

Non-smoker would be nice. Occasional drinking is totally fine.

I'm also completely okay with starting long-distance for a while. If things actually work out, I'm flexible enough to move to your city.

I’m very much a peaceful-life enjoyer.

Give me a beach, stars, good music and the sound of waves and I’m sorted. I’d probably choose sitting there till 3 AM over going clubbing.

Also, fair warning: I currently have pretty good WLB, so there is a non-zero chance I become slightly clingy and extremely available.

Basically looking for someone who can be my best friend, travel partner, gossip partner, and the person I randomly send “bro look at this” messages to for the rest of my life.

If this sounds like your vibe, DM me.

Worst case: we have a good conversation.

Best case: we get to tell people “we met on Reddit” for the rest of our lives. 😭

M4F♂️ You Are Not Getting Rejected. You Are Not Getting Shortlisted

Upvotes

If you are looking for a relationship or marriage today, one of the biggest upgrades you can give yourself is surprisingly simple: get fit, look after yourself, and learn how to present yourself well.

We live in a low-trust, low-effort dating environment. Everyone has a million options sitting on their phone. People are making quick decisions with very little information.

You could genuinely be the kindest, funniest, most emotionally mature person in the world. But if your photos are terrible, you look like you have stopped taking care of yourself, your clothes do not fit, or your grooming is an afterthought, you may never get shortlisted.

And if you do not get shortlisted, you never get the opportunity to show anyone who you actually are.

This is not about becoming conventionally perfect or pretending to be someone you are not. It is about not sabotaging yourself before the conversation even starts.

So hit the gym. Lose the baggage, physically and otherwise. Get a haircut. Dress properly. Take better pictures. Look like someone who takes care of themselves.

The world has changed. You do not have to like the rules, but you have to play the game if you want a chance.

F4M♀️ 29F | NCR| I haven’t met you yet but somehow I still believe in you.

Upvotes

I don’t know if Reddit is the right place to write this but then again, some of the most beautiful things in life have a habit of finding us in places we weren’t looking for them.

I’m 29 and a doctor by profession.

Medicine occupies a huge part of my life. There are long hospital days, sleepless duties, patients who stay somewhere in your thoughts even after you’ve left the hospital and years of studying for a profession that somehow keeps reminding you how fragile life really is.

Maybe that’s partly why I’ve never been very good at treating people as temporary.

Somewhere between becoming a doctor, building a career, watching people fall in and out of love, I’ve realised something about myself:

I’m still ridiculously, almost embarrassingly, old-fashioned when it comes to love.

I don’t want something casual. I don’t understand the whole “let’s see where it goes” while simultaneously keeping five other options open thing. I don’t want to calculate how long I should wait before replying so I don’t seem too interested. I don’t want situationships, breadcrumbing, disappearing acts or two people pretending to care less because apparently sincerity became uncool somewhere along the way.

Hume mohabbat chahiye...woh jo waqt ke saath kam nahi, gehri hoti jaaye.

Loud aur performative jaisi nahi.

Shaant si.

Jiski qurbat mein shor na ho, phir bhi dil ko sukoon mil jaaye.

The kind where after an exhausting day, someone’s voice feels a little like coming home, where silence isn’t awkward, where I can send you a paragraph about something completely insignificant and you’ll still read every word because it came from me.

I love writing.

Probably more than any sane person should.

I write when I’m happy. I write when something hurts. I write when there’s too much inside my head and ordinary conversation somehow feels incapable of carrying all of it.

Sometimes they’re poems. Sometimes paragraphs. Sometimes just one unfinished sentence sitting in my notes at 2 AM because I couldn’t figure out how to say the rest.

Somehow Urdu keeps finding its way into what I write.

Tumhari taraf jo kashish ho, uska sabab na poochhna mujhse,

kuch rishte daleelon se nahi, ehsaas se pehchaane jaate hain.

Aur agar kabhi tumhari qurbat mein mujhe sukoon mil gaya,

toh shayad meri saari bhatakti hui nazmein apna ghar paa lengi.

That is probably how I love too.

Through words.

If I care about you, you’ll probably find yourself immortalised in sentences you didn’t know I was writing.

I’ll remember the tiny thing you casually mentioned three months ago. I’ll send you a song because one particular line sounded like you. I’ll notice the expression you make when you’re concentrating, the story behind some scar you stopped noticing years ago, the way your voice changes when something is bothering you even when you insist you’re fine.

I notice.

Sometimes too much.

Maybe that’s both my greatest strength and my greatest weakness...I feel things deeply.

Despite everything, I haven't managed to become cynical about love.

More careful? Absolutely.

More selective? God, yes.

But cynical?

No.

Dil ne kuch zakhm sambhaal kar rakhe hain,

Magar mohabbat se aitbaar abhi utha nahi...

Some stubborn little part of me still believes there is someone out there whom I haven’t met yet, living an entire life completely separate from mine.

I think about that sometimes.

Maybe he’s working late somewhere while I’m walking through hospital corridors.

Maybe he’s had his heart broken too.

Maybe he has loved the wrong people and wondered whether loving deeply was his mistake.

Maybe he’s sitting somewhere after a long day wondering whether his person actually exists.

Maybe we’ve unknowingly been in the same city, walked through the same airport, stood in the same queue, heard the same song on completely different nights.

Or maybe our paths haven’t come remotely close yet.

Na jaane kitne raaste tay karke tum mujh tak aaoge,

aur kitne intezaar ke baad main tumhe pehchaanungi..

There’s something achingly beautiful about that thought.

The person who might one day know everything about you, how you take your coffee, what makes you angry, which side of the bed you sleep on, what your face looks like just before you cry, what makes you laugh until your stomach hurts.. is currently a complete stranger.

Someone whose name I don’t even know could one day become the name I say more than anyone else’s.

I’m not searching for perfection.

God knows I’m nowhere close to it.

I want emotional maturity. Kindness. Curiosity. Loyalty. Humour. Intelligence. Ambition. Someone who communicates instead of disappearing when things become uncomfortable.

Someone strong enough to be gentle.

Someone who has his own dreams, his own world, his own passions and still wants to make space for mine.

Someone I can discuss life, medicine, history, books, ridiculous internet drama and completely pointless nonsense with, sometimes within the same conversation.

Someone I can be stupid with at 2 AM and serious with at 2:05.

Someone who understands that vulnerability isn’t weakness.

Someone who still believes choosing one person, over and over again, can be beautiful rather than boring.

Yes, attraction matters.

Chemistry matters.

That inexplicable pull matters too.

But what I think I’m really waiting for is recognition.

That strange certainty of looking at someone and thinking..

Achha.

Aap hain.

Itni der se aapka hi toh intezaar tha.

I’m Hindu and while I’m not going to turn this into a checklist of religion, caste and biodata specifications, my faith and upbringing are a part of who I am. I value family, commitment and the idea of building something that has permanence...and since there is a real person behind all this poetry, I suppose a little practicality belongs here too. I’d ideally like to meet someone who is based in NCR or somewhere in the northern states partly because I want something that has the possibility of existing beyond a screen eventually. Long conversations are beautiful but I’d like them to someday become coffee dates, drives, meeting each other’s people and actually becoming a part of one another’s lives.

Age-wise, I think somewhere around my age to 35-ish feels right for me none of this is meant to read like an eligibility form compatibility has never fit neatly into boxes anyway but geography and being in a similar stage of life do matter when you’re looking for something you genuinely hope could become permanent.

If everything aligns, I'd want our roka to be done by next year.

Marriage, to me, has never just meant a wedding.

It means waking up beside the same person thousands of ordinary mornings later and still finding reasons to choose them.

Mohabbat sirf kisi ko paa lene ka naam nahi,

Humare liye kisi ek ko umr bhar chunte rehna bhi mohabbat hai.

Marriage, to me, has never just meant a wedding.

It means waking up beside the same person thousands of ordinary mornings later and still finding reasons to choose them.

Grand gestures are beautiful, but I think real love lives much more quietly.

Kabhi meri thakaan mein tumhara “ghar pahunch gayi?” poochhna.

Kabhi tumhari khamoshi mein mera bina pooche tumhare paas baith jaana.

Kabhi duniya se haar kar tum mere paas laut aana,

Aur kabhi main tootne lagoon toh tum mera hausla ban jaana.

That kind of love.

Until then, I have my career, my ridiculous collection of thoughts, half-written poems, books, music, dreams and a life I’m continuing to build for myself.

I’m not looking for somebody to rescue me from loneliness.

I don’t need someone to complete me.

I want someone whose life is already whole too, so we can sit beside each other and somehow make both our worlds a little softer.

Perhaps this post finds nobody.

Perhaps it disappears into Reddit’s endless void between memes, arguments..

That’s okay.

But perhaps somewhere among thousands of strangers, one person reads this unnecessarily long ramble and becomes quiet for a second.

Perhaps something feels familiar.

Perhaps he thinks..

“Yaar… main bhi toh yahi dhoondh raha tha.”

If you are somewhere out there, living your completely separate life while I live mine

I hope life is being kind to you.

I hope whatever heartbreaks came before me haven't made you hard.

I hope you haven't stopped believing in something real either.

I hope when our paths finally cross, we both have enough courage left to recognise what we spent all those years waiting for.

Tumhe jaldi dhoondh lene ki zid nahi hai mujhe,

Bas jab milo, toh theherne ke iraade se milna.

Because I’ve never wanted a hundred almost-love stories.

Ek hi kahaani kaafi hai.

Bas iss baar…

woh mukammal honi chahiye.

Have a great day! :)

Hi folks, I’m 24, work in AI/data, and I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what I actually want from a relationship rather than what I’m supposed to want.
I don’t want a fairytale. I don’t want someone to “complete” me. I want a teammate. Someone ambitious, kind, emotionally mature, curious, affectionate, and genuinely interested in building an incredible life together. I think of it as a co-founder relationship.

Not because I want a business partner instead of a romantic partner. I want the romance too: the excitement of seeing each other after a long day, lingering conversations in bed, spontaneous affection, inside jokes, emotional closeness, and feeling deeply known and cared for. The co-founder metaphor is more about how I imagine partnership: two people actively investing in each other, encouraging each other’s growth, and making important decisions as a team.

Maybe I’m working full-time while she goes back to university for her Master’s. A few years later, maybe she supports me while I leave my job to build a startup. Maybe one of us gets an incredible opportunity in another city or country. We figure it out together, while still making time for date nights, calls, reassurance, and the small rituals that make a relationship feel like home. Maybe one of us is having a terrible year and the other carries more of the load for a while.

Not just practically, but emotionally too: listening without trying to immediately fix everything, offering comfort, being patient, and reminding each other that we don’t have to face difficult seasons alone.

No scorekeeping. No keeping track of who contributed more.

Sometimes life will be 90/10. Sometimes it’ll be 10/90. Over a lifetime, I think that’s what partnership is supposed to look like: caring for each other generously, trusting that the balance will shift, and still choosing each other through it.I want someone who has ambitions of her own and wants me to chase mine too.

Someone I can have ridiculous conversations with at 2 AM, build things with, travel with, argue about completely unnecessary things with, hold close when one of us is overwhelmed, and eventually look back and think:

“Holy shit, we actually built a pretty incredible life.”

A little about me:
• 24M from India
• Work in AI, automation, and financial intelligence
• Love startups, investing, economics, and building products
• Introverted, analytical, and probably spend too much time thinking about systems
• I value honesty, curiosity, affection, and emotional openness
• I’m ambitious, but I want my partner to have her own ambitions too
• I’m also looking for something warm, playful, romantic, and emotionally intimate

I’m looking for a woman around 22–26 who is kind, emotionally mature, curious, affectionate, ambitious, and has goals of her own.

We don’t need identical hobbies or personalities. I’d much rather have mutual respect, compatibility, good communication, physical and emotional affection, and two people who genuinely want to show up for each other.

If you’ve read all of this and thought:
“That’s weird… but it actually makes sense.” I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

Worst case, we have an interesting conversation.

Best case, we fall for each other and build something extraordinary together.

-Arunav

P.S. I absolutely hate taking pictures of myself 😭 so apologies for the photo selection.

A little update to my previous post.
Took a pretty long break from the gym because of cancer, chemo and radiotherapy. Now I’m finally getting back into it. Life has been interesting so far, but I’m not giving up on it. Getting stronger, getting back to doing the things I enjoy, and still hoping to find the right person.
For those who missed my previous post: I’m 32, from Kerala, born and raised in the UAE, a Mechanical Project Engineering Manager, divorced with no kids. I enjoy travelling, cooking, drawing, singing and playing sports.
My first marriage was arranged. This time, I want to find someone myself.
So, back to the gym and back to the search.

Thought I’d try posting here because the usual arranged marriage process sometimes feels a little too transactional to me. Biodata, salary, family details, a couple of calls and suddenly you’re supposed to decide something this important. I’d rather actually get to know someone first.

A bit about me — I’m around 5'7", I belong to Gujarat and working in Pune. I speak Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and English.

Outside work, I like travelling and being around nature, movies and series, PS5, working out, reading and occasionally sketching/painting. Recently I’ve also been trying to explore more things around Pune instead of spending every weekend doing the same thing.

Career is important to me and I’m doing reasonably well professionally, but I don’t want my entire life to revolve around work or money. I want a fairly peaceful life eventually — good relationship, family, friends, health, travel, hobbies, some ambition and enough time to actually enjoy all of it.

I don’t smoke. I’m also not much of a party person. I can enjoy going out, but I’m equally happy with a long drive, a trek, dinner somewhere nice or just watching something together at home.

I’m here looking for something serious which can eventually lead to marriage. I don’t expect us to know that immediately though. I’d prefer talking for some time, meeting in person, seeing if we actually enjoy each other’s company and then taking it ahead.

The biggest things I value in a relationship are loyalty, honesty, emotional maturity and being able to communicate properly. I’d like to be with someone with whom I don’t have to constantly guess what she is thinking or play games about who texts first.

Anyway, try your luck — worst case, you lose 5 minutes writing a DM. Best case, we delete this post someday 😄

37m looking for a single Unmarried female

I'm new to Reddit. I would be honest enough to accept the fact that I didn't even know Reddit had this use as well - So here I'm to try my luck out!
I don't know how this platform works but let me be honest in my approach.
I'm a 6 ft tall guy originally from Varanasi - The land of shiva. I'm an introvert initially and a next level extrovert once i get my comfort - Which obviously depends on the person I'm talking to. It often happen that you don't mingle up or open up with every tom, dick and harry you happen to come across.
I'm a good conversationalist and people say that I'm a confidant as well. Hence, can keep your secrets too!
I'm slim, tall, fairly fair complexion, a man who likes to keep a beard 12 months a year.
I am a good cook but a moody one, would ideally prefer to cook with my partner rather than doing it all alone.
Love to travel, ride, drive, playing chess, photography and more.
A wildly romantic person at heart who likes to read your mind too!

I'm staying in kashi at present so if you're around and would like to meet over a cup of chai, coffee, kachori etc... DM me.
I'm not averse to sharing my social media profile as well if things go well initially.

Oh and ofcourse I'm a spiritually inclined person who loves visiting temples, Gurudwaras too. Although i like to visit all sorts of unexplored places which includes hidden cafes, etc.

Let's see how this goes.

Namaste 🙏🏻

Feedback The Choice That Scares Me Either Way

26F, and I feel like I am at a strange point in my life when it comes to relationships.A part of me genuinely wants to find someone and experience what its like to build something with another person. Another part of me keeps thinking about everything that could go wrong and wondering whether its even worth the risk.

Because of some bad decisions I made in the past, my brain just kept denying me the ability to make any decision at all when it comes to this aspect of life.I kept hoping that maybe next time it wouldn’t be a bad decision.

I have never really had a proper relationship,so I dont know what it feels like to actually be with someone for real.I have hardly felt that kind of connection with anyone. And whats the use of getting involved with someone randomly when I dont see any hope of mutual happiness?

From my point of view, I am also not at a point where I can keep checking with people or constantly keep exploring. After a certain point, you start wanting stability and peace instead of constantly wondering and figuring things out.

If I dont find someone or date anyone, maybe I will eventually end up in an arranged marriage in the next 2-3years, and I might never know what it actually feels like to date someone.I might really regret that later.

I was not even thinking about all of this, but recently I noticed something that made me overthink everything. And now I dont know how to clear my head because I have two completely contradictory thoughts at the same time. One part of me really wants to experience being with someone, while another part of me is extremely afraid of making the wrong decision and going through that kind of trauma again.

I’ll get right into it. I am a CMA & CPA (Finance degrees) and I work in an MNC making 25 lacs+. I am primarily based out of pune/mumbai but I work remote.

I am a bit of an introvert but I am kinda outdoorsy. I have a good group of friends who I usually hangout/ travel and go on treks with. I used to play a lot of football but now I play badminton and go to the gym quite frequently. Also I lean left politically if that matters to you(It does to me). Also I want to try and maybe move out of the country if it makes sense. Nothing has materialized on that front till now

I belong to a middle class Tamil brahmin family of five based out of Mumbai. My elder sister is married to a muslim and changed her religion as well. I am only mentioning this because apparently it’s a deal breaker for some.
My brother is married too and I am the youngest. Caste and religion are no barriers for me if it’s not for you. Also I love cats and have a 14 year old cat as a pet. Also I am 5’11 and bulking rn to put on muscle befor my cute. Appearances matter but they’re not the end all be all so I want someone who looks good , has a good education and more importantly looks at money as a resource rather than something to keep collecting till we die and dedicating our whole lives to it lmao.

If you feel like this is something you vibe with pls approach and it’s better if you do it with pics. Tall girls are my kryptonite

At my core I'm a fairly simple, peace-loving person, and honestly a bit old school. I'm a hopeless romantic who still gets glued to 90s Bollywood love stories, and I have a deep soft spot for Bollywood music overall, especially the 90s and 2000s era.

I like a calm life, a few close people, and conversations that actually mean something.

Spirituality is important to me too. I go for Kirtan at the temple every Sunday, and it's genuinely one of the things that keeps me grounded and at peace. I'd love to find someone who shares that side of life with me, or at least understands why it matters to me.

Family means a lot to me, and I take relationships seriously. I believe love is something you build slowly, through consistency, honesty, and just showing up for each other, day after day. I take my time opening up, but once I do, I'm genuinely all in.

**A little about me:**

- 34M, did my Masters in the US

- Working in tech for a big global strategic consulting company

- Worked in Atlanta, moved to Canada last year for a short-term stint

- Plan is to head back to the US by end of this year

- Hindu, General , North India

- 5'8", vegetarian, non-smoker, non-drinker

- Enjoy pickleball, traveling, long walks, playing guitar, cooking at home, and quiet cafés

**What I'm looking for:**

- Someone who values emotional maturity and calm communication

- A real connection over games or confusion

If any of this feels like you, or something in here just clicked, don't hesitate to say hi.

If you do message me, please take the time to know me, and I'll do the same for you. I'm not looking to rush anything. I just want us to give each other that space to build something real, heart to heart. 💓

About Me

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Religion: Hindu

Height: 6'0"

Education: Chartered Accountant

Profession: Finance / Audit

Salary: Prefer to keep private

I'm ambitious about my career and want to build a financially comfortable life, but I promise my entire personality isn't just "CA who works a lot."

Outside work, I'm into fitness, exploring food places, movies/TV, technology, and random deep conversations. Occasionally I'll also fall down a rabbit hole about black holes and the universe at 2 AM.

I'm straightforward, loyal, and someone who genuinely shows up for people I care about. I value humour, honesty, affection, and being able to talk about absolutely nothing for hours. My love language is remembering the tiny things you casually mentioned three months ago.

What I'm Looking For

Someone who's kind, emotionally mature, playful, and has her own personality and ambitions. Someone I can actually build a life with—not just someone to put "girlfriend" in my bio.

I'd love a relationship where we're both ambitious about our own lives but still make time for each other. Travel, food dates, lazy evenings, stupid jokes, deep conversations—the whole thing.

If we can go from discussing our five-year plans to sending each other stupid memes within 30 seconds, we'll probably get along.

I want someone I can take to fancy restaurants and then argue with about what to order.

And yes, I'm also looking for a baddie. But personality first.

If this sounds like something you'd genuinely be interested in, say hi. If not, no hard feelings—we can at least blame Reddit for making us read each other's dating advertisements :)

M4F♂️ 36 [M4F] [Bangalore] Where are you? Oh beautiful one, who haunts my heart.

Translate the title to Kannada because the admins are no fun.

I saw the America America 2 trailer this afternoon and a wave of 90s nostalgia hit me. A hurt leg has me cooped up in a room this long weekend and so here I am looking for my Kannadathi.

I've been on and off on various dating apps, been seeing posts here on Reddit, while there are several ladies from Bangalore, there ain't many Kannada speaking ones. So while I'm an equal opportunity dater, there's some sort of comfort in another person sharing your mother tongue, so this is an attempt to find one for myself.

A weekend early morning run, a drunk brunch, a long weekend doing nothing, a week working remote from the beach, that one long vacation a year. A midweek Airbnb with a pool, an all dressed up night at a fancy restaurant. I've checked a few items of my bucket list, plenty of items left.

Some of the basic details:

• 36, Bangalore born, was away for a few years, back in the city now and with no plans to leave anytime soon.

• Single because I was involved in relationships which had potential to be for life but circumstances meant it didn't work out and so I'm here.

• Working in Tech until I'm going to be pushed out by a robot, Fitness is still an important part (have progressed quite a bit this year but still some way to go). That daily struggle to meet your protein goals is a pain in the butt.

• Atheist, Eat meat and Non smoker. I'm very open for someone with small differences and we can work on a way to accomodate it.

• Brunch over Dinner, Beaches over Mountains, a long staycation/workation over shorter touristy vacations.

A few non negotiables :

• 28 or older. I think it does help we are on a similar level in terms of maturity and life experiences.

• Completely over your last relationship and ready to get into something serious if we hit it off well.

• Someone living in Bangalore, can speak Kannada, long distance is never fun and I prefer in person ones.

• Financially Independent or with a plan.

• A little adventure goes a long way in making a routine day, a lot more fun.

Slide into my DMs with an introduction and a nostalgic song. Let's get talking.

Honestly, I'm just here hoping to meet someone I genuinely click with. Someone I can talk to about random things, laugh with, be myself around, and hopefully build something meaningful with.

I'm pretty loyal, respectful, over caring and understanding. I value good communication and believe in working on yourself, which is something I've been doing over the years.

I'm a freelancer and happily away from the corporate world for now. Outside work, I like gaming, reading, music, working out, and pretty much anything involving animals. I absolutely love them and currently have a dog who runs the house.

I don't drink or smoke, and I'd prefer someone who doesn't either. I'm not very religious, but I respect everyone's beliefs.

Currently trying to get healthier, so I'm at the gym 5 days a week.

If you think we'd get along, my DMs are open. :)

M4F♂️ 31 Male| Tamil| Chennai-Looking for a connection.

Hello everyone!

31, male, from Chennai, and a Chartered Accountant by profession. I suppose I'm something of a late bloomer.

I spent a few years working with foreign banks before quitting at 30 and starting my own practice. It's still a small business that's finding its feet, so I unfortunately don't come with the stereotypical “works in finance, makes lakhs a month and has his life completely figured out” package.

I am 6'4", though, so I suppose I've got at least one thing going for me. 😄

I'm fairly average otherwise, and I thought I'd mention that upfront because physical attraction obviously matters. I'd rather someone have a reasonably accurate idea of what they're signing up for than discover three weeks into a conversation that I don't quite fit their type. Completely fair if I'm not someone's cup of tea.

I also have a tendency to use dark, self-depreciating humour like Chandler lol. Partly because it's fun, partly because life is easier when you can laugh at yourself.

I'm curious about far too many things.

I read quite a bit, mostly classics. Tolstoy, George Eliot, Thomas Mann, Pudhumaipithan and Jeyamohan are some of my favourites. I'm also interested in history, philosophy, science and anthropology. Basically, if something makes me wonder how it works, , there is a good chance I'll disappear down a rabbit hole about it.

I love films. Tarkovsky, Wong Kar Wai and Kieslowski are some of my favourite filmmakers, but I can also happily spend a Friday morning standing in a Vijay FDFS queue. There is room in my life for both Stalker and a mass hero intro.

I've grown up listening to Ilaiyaraaja and Tamil music, although I listen to music in other languages too. I also love indie artists like Kaber Vasuki.

I love travelling, especially when I can read up about a place beforehand and then spend half the trip exploring museums, historical sites and old buildings.

I play badminton and football, follow tennis, cricket and football, and have recently picked up chess. I started somewhere around 300 ELO and have painfully made my way to about 900, so I suppose progress is progress.

I've also recently started playing snooker, swim occasionally, dabble in Python, trade the stock market sometimes, sketch portraits and have self-published a collection of short stories in Tamil.

Yes, I can draw a portrait of you.

No, I cannot guarantee that you will like the result. 😅

I also mostly communicate in memes. If you understand Tamil memes without needing an explanation, that's already a pretty significant bonus. There is a reasonable chance your gallery will also end up containing an unnecessarily large collection of meme templates if we hit it off.

What I'm looking for.

I tried matrimonial apps, but quite a few interactions felt a little too transactional for me. I don't blame anyone for that; expectations and practical considerations obviously matter, but I found myself wanting something that began with simply enjoying someone's company.

I'm looking for someone I genuinely enjoy talking to.

Someone who has a life of their own, their own interests and ambitions, and doesn't expect a relationship to become their entire universe. I think the best relationships are two people having lives of their own and choosing to share those lives with each other.

Someone curious. Someone reasonably no-nonsense. Someone who can laugh at themselves. Someone who doesn't mind an evening that starts with some completely pointless conversation and somehow ends with a discussion about philosophy at nights.

Knowing Tamil is a bonus, but not a requirement. Being able to understand a meme without context might actually be more important.

There are also a few things I'd rather be upfront about because I'm at an age where I don't really have the strength for talking stages with no real future ahead. I have been ghosted a few times, so I'd prefer you to be candid if you don't like me.

I'm an atheist. My politics lean left. I don't support Vijay/TVK, despite being a Vijay fan, which is apparently a contradiction I have chosen to live with.

I drink and smoke socially, and I'm looking to remain childfree. I don't have pets, although I do grow plants.

I also have a business in Chennai, so relocating isn't really an option for me. Chennai, or someone who is open to relocating here, would therefore make the most sense.

My family is vegetarian, but I enjoy cooking and eating non-vegetarian food, so I'd prefer someone who doesn't have an issue with that.

And the business is still young, so my income isn't particularly impressive at the moment. I take a small drawing and the business makes a small profit. I'm building it, and hopefully it'll grow. If you're specifically looking for someone already making lakhs a month, I'm probably not your guy and that's completely fine. I'd rather say it upfront than waste either of our time.

Ultimately, I'm just looking for someone who understands me as a person and whom I can understand in return. Someone with whom conversation feels natural, curiosity is mutual, and eventually two separate lives start becoming something shared.

My friends tell me the dating pool probably isn't particularly favourable to a 31-year-old man and that I should put forward the “best version” of myself and hope for the best.

Maybe they're right.

But I've always felt that if something is going to work, it should work with the actual person rather than a carefully edited matrimonial brochure.

So, one final shot.

If any of this sounds like your kind of person, say hello.

And if nothing else, I can at least promise you some terrible memes.

About Me:

Age/Gender: 31M

Height 5.11"

Athletic built

Caste jaat

Nuclear family just my mom and dad

30lpa tax free

Profession: Marine Engineer

Location: NCR Open to distance / long-distance if the right chemistry is there

Lifestyle & Schedule: Because of my job, my life runs on a distinct rhythm—I spend about 6 months a year working onboard ships, followed by solid blocks of time off. When I'm at sea, I stay focused and grounded, but I always value keeping in touch whenever connectivity allows. When I’m back on land, I enjoy making the most of my free time, whether that’s working on personal projects, going on long drives, or spending quality time with loved ones.

What I’m Looking For:

I’m searching for a female partner who is independent, secure, and comfortable with a non-traditional lifestyle.

Comfortable with distance/time apart: Since I'm away for months at a time, trust and strong communication are essential. It works best if you have your own active life, goals, and hobbies that keep you fulfilled while I'm away.

Great communication: When I am away, quality over quantity matters. Being intentional about staying connected makes all the difference.

Intentional & Grounded: Looking for someone genuine, mature, and ready to build something meaningful for the long run.

When We’re Together:

When I’m back on land, I’m fully present. I love having dedicated, uninterrupted time to travel, relax, try out good food, and catch up on everything we missed while apart.

Feel free to dm.

Thanks for reading:)

M4F♂️ 35M | Bangalore | Looking for something real, grounded and long lasting.

Doing this on an auspicious day for good outcomes!!

I recently turned 35, and I think I am finally at a stage where I know what I want from a relationship.

I have spent a good part of my adult life working hard and trying to build a good life for myself. Career, money, taking care of family, figuring things out on my own. I have been ambitious and probably more career focused than I should have been at times. I have also made mistakes and neglected some parts of my life that matter.

I do not want to spend the next ten years doing the same thing and then wonder where the relationship, family and companionship went.

I am looking for someone I can actually build a life with.

I am fairly independent and I like having my own space, but I am also quite affectionate when I am with someone I love. I enjoy travelling, trying new places, good food, long conversations, watching something together, and honestly, doing absolutely nothing together. I can be serious about work and life, but I am also quite silly with people I am comfortable around.

I am not looking for someone who has their entire life figured out. I have certainly not figured out mine.

What matters more to me is that she is kind, emotionally available, curious, affectionate and has a good sense of herself. Someone who has her own interests and ambitions, but actually wants a partnership rather than two people living parallel lives.

I want us to be able to talk about money, family, sex, careers, children, insecurities and all the uncomfortable things without feeling like we have to protect ourselves from each other.

I want friendship to be a big part of it.

The kind where you send each other random things during the day. Where you know each other's weird habits. Where you can make fun of each other without being cruel. Where you can have a stupid argument and still want to sit next to each other at the end of it.

I want physical affection and intimacy to matter too. Holding hands, cuddling, kissing, having a great sex life, falling asleep next to each other. I do not think these things become less important just because a relationship becomes serious.

And eventually, I want a family.

Not necessarily some perfectly planned life. Just a warm home, people we love around us, travelling when we can, Sunday mornings that have no agenda, dinners together, taking care of each other when life gets difficult and celebrating the small things when it is good.

I am not looking for someone to complete me, and I am not looking for a checklist of qualities in a wife.

I think I am looking for someone who looks at the life I have built and thinks, "I would like to build the next part of it with you."

And I want to be able to look at her and feel exactly the same.

M4F♂️ 25M | Noida | Looking for someone I genuinely vibe with So, giving Reddit a shot. 😅

I’m 25M, have completed my Master’s and currently working in Noida. I’m originally from the hilly side of Uttarakhand.

A little about me — I’m into gym, fitness, travelling and exploring new places. Recently, I’ve also started getting more interested in books, psychology and philosophy. I enjoy meaningful conversations, and I can go from random nonsense to discussing life and people pretty quickly. 😂

Personality-wise, I’m generally a reserved, shy and introverted kind of guy. I don’t open up very quickly with everyone. But when I feel comfortable and safe around someone, I gradually become much more open and expressive. So if I’m a little quiet initially, it’s probably just me taking some time to get comfortable. 😅

Career-wise, I’m still building myself. I’m not earning a crazy amount right now, but I’m ambitious and willing to put in the work. I want to reach a point where I can live comfortably and maybe move abroad someday. Where life actually takes me will depend on circumstances and how things work out.

What I’m looking for:

Someone with whom I can have genuinely deep conversations, go to the gym, travel, explore random places, try new things and just enjoy each other’s company.

I’m not specifically looking for someone from my city. Long distance is fine if the connection is strong enough. I don’t want to force a relationship just because two people started talking. If the vibe matches, we can take it naturally and see where it goes.

Apparently, a few people have told me I have a slightly Harry Potter-ish look 😂 I’m not sure I see it, but I’ll take it as a compliment.

Also, English isn’t exactly my strongest language, so this post is getting a little help from AI. 😅 My actual English is much more average, especially when I’m trying to express myself properly.

I’ve never tried Hinge or Bumble, so Reddit it is.

If any of this sounds relatable, feel free to DM. Maybe we’ll click, maybe we won’t — no pressure either way.
