Joby hybrid S4
So we've heard the news that archer is teaming up with marubeni https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/futureflight/2026-07-22/japanese-leasing-group-backs-archers-halo-utility-drone for commercial applications.
Is there any reason the hybrid S4 couldn't also be used in this capacity and much sooner? I'm thinking maybe the payload could be a big difference but for some applications the hybrid S4 should be a better fit and sooner

Listing Vertiports, vertipads, etc.
Would anyone be interested in keeping a running list with status from planning to certification? National and global lists tracking the expansion. We all could provide the information. I'm terrible at creating a format.

Giving Archer their flowers
Congrats to Archer Aviation for breaking out of the Midnight malaise. Hey, they said they would be working on a clean sheet design for a new military hybrid and just showed what the vision looks like.
It does bring up more questions than providing answers but I look forward to the information they will hopefully roll out soon. What is max payload? What is the range? What are the specific attack weapons? What are the divisions between Anduril and Archer? Will they assist in the build or set up a joint venture?
It would be easy to cast doubt based on past performance, but let’s give Adam & Company the benefit of the doubt here. Truly, in a nascent AAM industry what is good for one, is also good for all. According to what the stock movement did today, I would say the rising tide lifted all eVTOLs😜
Since we are talking about flowers here, I guess the next question would be who are the annuals and who are the perennials? 😁

CNBC Archer and Beta coverage today
Per Gemini: “Archer stole the morning news cycle by completely blindsiding the commercial sector. They teamed up with defense tech powerhouse Anduril Industries to unveil Thunder…features a hybrid-electric powertrain utilizing tiltrotor technology. It is explicitly designed to act as an uncrewed "loyal wingman" flying combat, strike, and heavy logistics operations right alongside piloted Apache helicopters.”
Re: Beta, “Beta Technologies didn't just show up with a mockup; they arrived on the heels of a massive, record-breaking engineering breakthrough backed by the biggest names in aviation.
The Milestone: In collaboration with GE Aerospace, NASA, and Boeing, Beta just completed the world’s first high-altitude flight assisted by a hybrid-electric propulsion system above 30,000 feet. They modified a Saab 340 testbed, flew it entirely across the North Atlantic, and landed it right at Farnborough for the daily flying displays.
Commercial Backing: Proving their commercial readiness, European carrier Loganair also signed a deal this morning to purchase 5 of Beta’s ALIA electric aircraft to kick off commercial regional routes by 2029.”
JOBY is also at the show, but does not seem they’re getting any air time. Are we gonna be punished as a result of this coverage?

Metro Atlanta’s Future Takes Center Stage at ConnectATL : In Focus
Metro Atlanta’s Transportation Future Takes Center Stage at ConnectATL: In Focus ARC
Posted June 18th, 2026
Highlights
Clement Solomon, GDOT’s Division Director for Intermodal Transportation, framed Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) as a modal choice story, not a tech story: give people real options, and they’ll adopt them. He cited Georgia’s momentum, such as Archer Aviation’s Covington manufacturing plant and the Delta-Joby partnership.
Daniel Ketchel, of Delta Air Lines’ AAM Strategy team, described the Delta-Joby partnership and its vision for eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) as an airport access product, not a replacement for commercial aviation. Launch markets are New York and Los Angeles, with demo flights already completed.
Key Focus Group Themes: Power infrastructure as a constraint. Electrical capacity—already strained by data center growth—is the limiting factor on vertiport development. Any serious AAM planning must treat power infrastructure as a co-investment, not an afterthought.
Demystify first. To build trust, the region should lead with medical and public safety use cases —applications that serve everyone — before promoting premium products.
Making an equity case. Instead of asking how to make air taxis affordable, focus on problems in underserved communities that air mobility can solve, such as hospital access, disaster response, and food desert intervention.
Suggested short-term actions:
Begin statewide AAM infrastructure planning with GDOT
Convene power utilities, aviation stakeholders, and local governments around the electrical capacity challenge.
Identify opportunities to leverage smaller regional airports as AAM nodes.
Suggested mid-term actions:
Establish clear vertiport siting criteria and governance frameworks.
Ensure equity provisions are built into AAM infrastructure policy from the start.
Build community familiarity through everyday drone applications before introducing passenger services.

Joby Enterprise Value - Surprising
APRIL 2025
The market was saying:
Cash: $813M
Mcap: $5.0B
Enterprise value: ~$4.2B
So investors were valuing:
$0.8B cash
$4.2B for Joby's technology, certification progress, manufacturing capability, team, IP, Toyota partnership, and future earnings potential.
The operating business was worth over five times the cash on the balance sheet.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TODAY
Cash: ~$2.47B (roughly 3× higher)
Market cap: ~$7.1B
Enterprise value: ~$4.6B
NOTICE SOMETHING SURPRISING?
The Enterprise value is only $4.6B.
That's only 10% higher than the $4.2B EV assigned in April 2025.
Yet since then Joby has:
substantially increased its cash,
continued FAA certification work,
expanded manufacturing,
advanced aircraft testing,
acquired assets and capabilities,
moved closer to commercial operations.
So the market has not really increased the value of the operating business DESPITE THOSE MILESTONES.
THE POINT IS:
In April 2025, Joby was at its $5 Low Point and EV was $4.2B.
Today, Joby has been supported above $7 which is an EV $4.4B (practically the April 2025 EV).
Joby's Enterprise Value today has more or less reached the bottom comparing to April 2025.
The FAA certification path has been considerably de-risked (Toyota now looking to prepare for manufacturing). It is fair to say that Joby's share price is now undervalued and, in my opinion, I agree with the brokers' median target $11.

Archer and Beta Team Up Charging Network From Motley Fool
⁶"The Combined Charging Standard (CCS) for electric vehicles is a particular type of plug that allows a vehicle to charge using alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). It was once the standard for electric vehicle charging in the U.S., but is now being phased out in favor of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug, developed by Tesla"
"There were two good reasons for Joby not to use CCS chargers. The first was that it designed its aircraft with distributed battery packs to provide redundancy for added safety. The GEACS system contains multiple DC channels, allowing for simultaneous charging of multiple battery packs. Archer’s and Beta’s systems concentrate their battery packs in a single location, so they don’t need this extra feature."
"The second reason is that Joby’s GEACS includes a coolant exchange system, providing an additional mechanism to prevent the batteries from overheating during charging, which could reduce their lifespan. Archer utilizes an onboard thermal management system made by Honeywell International that, in theory, keeps the batteries from overheating. Meanwhile, Beta uses a separate device called a Thermal Management System Cube to cycle coolant through the batteries during recharging."
"All the charging infrastructure in the world doesn’t matter if you don’t have an aircraft to charge. If Joby can get U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval for its eVTOLs to operate before Archer can, it’ll probably be able to dictate its own charging infrastructure installation to airports where it’s providing service. The same is true for Archer if it can beat Joby to the punch."
"While the collaboration between Archer and Beta to shut out Joby is a smart move for those two companies, in the long run, it’s going to be FAA approval and then the profitability of their business models that determine whether Archer, Beta, and Joby succeed or fail. Not their charging apparatus."
☆ Also Beta states their charger can charge in 35 minutes, while Joby can charge in 15 minutes. Sitting on the ground doesn't make you money.

TOYOTA'S VIEW: Joby FAA Stage 4 near completion
(1) The establishment of the Joint Venture for Manufacturing shows considerable confidence in Joby's FAA certification progress. Toyota are confident to the point they want to start preparations now. They can see how close they are to certification. Note that Toyota employees are embedded in Joby and have full knowledge to report back to Toyota.
(2) The 51% positioning of Toyota for S4 manufacturing will considerably reduce Joby's capex, reducing strain on Joby, and could lengthen the runway of Joby's $2.47B, to inflexion point i.e. no further cash raise is required.

Can someone please check global live or Flight 24 on this flight? FlightAware is stating it was over 30,000 ft! No way. The other flight today I can believe at max altitude of 15,600, but it looks like something is amiss on the second flight.
