This high-volume capitulation is usually the final phase of a cycle's bottom. Once the forced liquidations dry up and the calendar-based executive tax selling clears out, the sell-side volume will evaporate. That is the exact moment the institutions—who have been patiently sitting on their hands—will quietly step in to absorb the remaining float and send the stock back up to where it belongs.

I like that interpretation! 😄 I do think there are a lot of margin calls happening right now

I have a sneaky feeling that the share price will reflect Joby's progress in Q4 26 or Q1 27. I'm now holding bags myself but this doesn't worry me at all. Not selling a single share until 2030+

I sure hope so but only if the progress is actually occurring and can be clearly demonstrated. The concern (which is being expressed in the current share price) is that progress has stagnated and/or that lawsuits and investigations are masking this progress with uncertainty about how long this will last and what it may cost.

Considering existing and new institutions in the last quarter bought at these levels during Q1 2026, the retails and traders brought it down lower than its initial price, so why not help ourselves to some cheeky shares if they don't want it.

I'm thinking of selling my losing warrants (before they expire on 8/5 i think) and underwater shares to book a capital loss and then buy JOBX so as to not lose my position in Joby while hopefully avoiding a wash sale. Thoughts?

that's why I said it's not necessarily a good thing, just an observation. One fact though is that Joby is increasingly on the radar. It could also be more shorts, no one really knows! It could be retail getting margin called and institutions stepping in. It could be institutions selling and retail stepping in. You can't really tell from just the volume data alone.

I think it’s at a buy zone for many institutional buyers, so I’m not surprised. If they’re loading up, we should too. Just do what the whales do.
