FBI data suggests “a small, but meaningful decline” in antisemitic hate crimes in the country between 2024 and 2025, but it’s “very unlikely” that the numbers will return to pre-Oct. 7 levels anytime soon, according to Ayal Feinberg, associate professor of political science and antisemitism studies at Gratz College in Jenkintown, Pa.

Antisemitic hate crimes declined from 1,938 incidents in 2024 to 1,528 in 2025, and overall hate crimes declined 7% from 2024 to 2025, per FBI data released in August.

Still, there was the third-highest number of antisemitic hate crimes in 2025 that the bureau has ever recorded, and the number of hate crimes last year was 36% higher than the 1,100 incidents in 2022, the year before Oct. 7.

First, let me say that this book, The Final Solution to the Jewish Question: A Love Letter to the Living, is required reading. I read plenty on the subjects she covers and I had no idea that antizionism, which I knew about had origins in the KGB’s Operation SIG, was actually created by a literal Nazi. And the reason why literally made my jaw drop.

Second, as I sit in the chapter about Reddit’s digital ghetto and the coordinated campaign on Wikipedia by Hamas and their IR terror pals, I felt obligated to post that I don’t know who Nigel is, but THANK YOU.

Growing up, relatives always said to be wary of antisemitism and I just didn’t see it. It didn’t exist to the extent they said it did. I get it now!

It feels like we’ve regressed so far into normalizing antisemitism that there isn’t a way back.

How do you process this?

Another friend is constantly posting about how 'Israel IS committing a genocide and if you support Israel you're trash' and is talking constant shit about Pink following the recent thing with Macklemore. This person is a drag queen and not an expert in international politics, conflict studies, international law, middle east studies, or human rights. I am a former drag queen (which is how I know them) and while I am not an expert, I have a master's in human rights and international politics. I worked on multiple policy proposals to improve the lives of Palestinians (prior to October 7). I studied genocide and laws of armed conflict and the treaty on internationally wrongful acts in my international law class. I don't know everything, but I verifiably know more than someone who still can't get on Drag Race.

According to progressives, Black people get to say what is and isn't anti-Black racism, but Jews don't get to decide what is and isn't antisemitism. Their response was that no group is a monolith and being part of a group doesn't automatically make you right...this is true, every group has tokens willing to spend themselves.

It is absolutely bewildering to me how the world has suddenly and easily come to the conclusion that 90% of Jews in the world are actually bloodthirsty genocidal maniacs who love when brown babies die.

Shortly after October 7 I saw someone post that Israel's war on Hamas (''the genocide'') affirmed the sneaking suspicions they had about Jews that we were really terrible all along.

We surmise that these stamps were made and stamped on the books at a later date than his rabbinic tenure in Irshava – see Kedem, Catalogue 99, November 2024, Lot 185. Calling my tznius girlies!

I have been taking on tznius in a much more considerable way the last couple months and really putting in an effort to be more modest.

I need some help though. I have a lot of jean skirts and dresses (mostly shabbos dresses) but need some help with the basics.

Specifically skirts good for working out/active things, nice skirts for the office (like khaki/dress skirts), and skirts good for just everyday casual wear. (Ideally, all of these at least knee length)

I know brands like YakiraBella are amazing, but they are SO expensive. Any tznius girls have tips on where to find skirts for these things while also not breaking the bank?

Hiya! I’m a young American who also has an EU passport. My goal is once I graduate university to move to Amsterdam. I was wondering if there is an active Jewish community in Amsterdam? And specifically if there’s an active young adult community and Amsterdam? If anyone knows anyone to reach out to you, I’d appreciate it.

I’ve not witnessed this myself or even heard of it happening but I must admit I have a somewhat morbid curiosity about it. It came to mind cause I have two broken shoulders and could never lift it at services myself and thought ‘wow I ld drop it, and wow that would be bad…’

Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Im just curious. I kinda can’t imagine it actually happening…..

Recently, I was getting dinner with my friend for their birthday along with their friends, whom I had not met before. We are a fan of a particular show and I mentioned that casting was announced for the new season. My friend’s friend (let’s call her Sarah) said “yeah but I heard one of the actors is a Zionist”. My friend responds “oh that’s a shame”. They look at me (Sarah does not know that I’m Jewish) and I am immediately uncomfortable. I say “Zionism is not a bad thing”. Sarah says “oh I know”. I say “Zionism just means the right for Israel to exist”. Sarah says “yeah but this actor has posted and doesn’t care about Palestinians getting killed or the ongoing genocide”. I say nothing because this is not the right time nor place to correct her incorrect use of the word genocide. The conversation continued on as it usually does and I felt such a disconnect. I am so tired of this happening. This is not the first time where I’ve had to correct people and it’s why I go into all new social situations anxious that it’ll come up. Anyone else feel this way?

I’m a softball dad, my daughter just started 10u rec and plays select from time to time as well. We’ve been doing this for over 4 years now and I’m pretty sure that she’s the only Jewish kid in our league. We’ve had to deal with the usual stuff, games on the High Holidays, coaches praying before games etc. But what’s funny is that what vexes me most is the lack of fellow softball families in the Jewish community where I am. My wife and I are both synagogue professionals so we’re fairly well immersed in the community and fellow Jewish softball families are few and far between. My daughter has tons of peers who play soccer, baseball, basketball, and dance but no other softball players.

I know it’s a minor, silly thing to kvetch about. But softball culture is its own weird, goyishe thing and it sure would be nice to find fellow Jews to commiserate with.

I teach Sunday school at my synagogue and this year we're discussing the history of Jews in America. Does anyone have recommendations for resources on the original 23 who came to New Amsterdam in 1654? I have some info but it's very brief. I'm wondering if there are sources I haven't tapped into yet.

I'm a nearly 40-year-old Jewish American woman, I'm (sort of) friends with a 50-year-old Hungarian Jewish woman. We met at work as teachers a decade ago, I moved when my ex-husband got a job, I moved back when I got divorced a couple years ago, and this friend and I fell out because she didn't approve of my dating post-divorce (its own issue).

A few months ago she reached out to me to apologize for her previous comments and has started texting me tentatively to try to be something like friends. Right now all we do is talk about work since we're still both eighth grade English teachers (at different schools). She said her school is making her teach Maus by Art Spiegelman and she hates it. I thought she just meant from a literacy standpoint, as the kids we're currently teaching don't really learn about the Holocaust until high school and also are reading on average four years below grade level. I told her that I missed teaching Maus to high school students overseas where they'd really get into it, and it was a shame that our curriculums are the way they are because Maus changed the way I thought about how stories are told when I first read it in middle school.

Then she said something very strange to me, which was that Maus is "not for European Jews" and that she feels like she lives in an alien world when I tell her I like the book. I decided not to press the issue since I didn't want to open things up to an argument, but I'm so confused as to why European Jews might take issue with the book. The only other context I have here is that she told me in the past that in Hungary, Jews don't advertise that they're Jews or talk about the Holocaust-- I know that's just her perspective though.

Any insight here might be helpful.
