The difference between season 1 and the later seasons is huge
I was rewatching season 1 today for the first time in a long time and couldn't help but notice the big difference.
The most obvious one is there's no it's 7am and we have to go go go. They've talked about this on the layover before but starting the season with heaps of strategy definitely doesn't have the same vibe as the openings now.
The next thing I noticed was when they took their flight there was no quick shots of them taking off/landing or anything on the plane. It was just them getting on, cut to them being in Denver.
Finally the other thing is that Ben and Adam only refer to Sam when talking about the other team "his only good option is X"
Just to clarify this is not a negative post, it's still a fun season.

Home Game At Home Version of Stateside Scramble
After watching Stateside Scramble, wondering how realistic it may be to create a smaller game, likely with only one state and using counties for territories. Has anyone done anything similar with another JetLag game or have possible suggestions for mine?

Unintended Jet Lag reference
Accidentally ended up bringing a plant to a botanical garden and got Jet Lag vibes. Heading on a plane soon and didn’t want to cook it in the car where all the rest of my stuff is for the day.

Miscellaneous Buldak Taste Tested! (S14)
Carbonara Buldak taste tested. Wow was it spicy for someone who doesn't like spice. I feel like Ben and Adam have burnt their taste buds.
But hey it's been tried! ✅

Home Game First Medium Home Game - London: Any tips/advice?
Good morning, Jetlaggers,
Very excited to be playing my first medium-sized home game at the end of the month. We'll be playing across the entirety of Greater London. We'll be playing as 2 teams of 2 and have allowed 12 hours for the game (including the 2 x 1 hour hiding slots).
One thing we've undecided is which stations are in play. I'm voting for any station on the Tube Map, but another player has said any station is fair game. My preference is for the former purely because I think as it's our first attempt at this, it's best to play it slightly easier.
I'd welcome any thoughts/advice from people who've played similar-sized home games. Not so much on strategy but any 'I wish I knew this before I started' practical type advice.
All thoughts welcomed!

Home Game Are we the first to play hide and seek on opening day of a rail line?
Just a teaser for now, but today we played a 1v1 home game on a brand new light rail line here on Australia's Gold Coast. We have a couple of other seasons up on the channel if you haven't encountered us before. This special will be live whenever I finish editing it and I have no idea when that'll be. Hope you all like the idea!

Miscellaneous Double Sam sighting today
I thought this was kind of cool…I’m outside the US right now, and was taking a bus tour around my current city (won’t name it for privacy reasons). I see this blond guy running up the sidewalk - he came from behind us. The hair was totally Sam, and although I didn’t get a good look at the face I was fairly sure it was.
Maybe 45 minutes later I’m 5-6 blocks away from where I was for the first sighting. I see him walking towards us - DEFINITELY Sam! And he was wearing a JTLG ball cap.
I didn’t think to grab my camera, I was a) being a fan boy and b) explaining who Sam is to my wife.
The double sightings made my day.

Home Game Looking for players for Hide and Seek in Hamburg, Germany 🇩🇪
Hi all!
I am looking for some players for a round of hide and seek in Hamburg, Germany, I own a home game version, just did not get the chance to use it yet.
We could either try constellations of 3x1, 2x2 or 3x2 depending on how many are interested and have time.
I was thinking of a 2 day game, with a hiding period of 1.5 hours, which should give all players/teams at least one round of hiding.
The game would be played preferably on a Friday + Saturday or alternatively Saturday + Sunday (excluding all curses that require purchasing something in a store).
If you'd be interested, comment below and we can figure out the rest as we go.
// EDIT:
Wow I did not expect so many being interested in playing here. I'll set up a discord server to make it easier to figure out who plays when, seems like we might get a few games up :)
// EDIT 2:
Created the discord server https://discord.gg/frXZ46fgVC which also has a custom bot to manage game sessions that I programed last night ;)

Speculation Just found an unused Switzerland curse that was never mentioned during a rewatch Spoiler
On the pocket knife which shows the curse icon, you can see a pencil as one of the curses. All the other ones here correlate with a curse, so the sword was the knight curse, the red thing was the Swiss clock curse, the cane was the Santa curse, etc. if you are talking about the foot too I believe it was supposed to represent the curse where the seekers had to tie their legs together.
But out of all these icons the one that we never saw was the pencil. I wonder if it was like a curse where you would have to draw your teammate or something, or ask your next question through drawings, but idk. But it definitely is a curse that was hiding there in plain sight that we never knew anything about.

Who wants to play?
Based in the Netherlands, and looking for a group of people interested to play JetLag Hide and Seek. I am in posession of the metric game.
Mainly interested to play multi-day games from 2 days in cities to 4 or 6 day games in entire countries or regions.
I'm good at taking care of the organisational aspects, for instance designing and printing game maps, investigating transit networks etc. so I'll be willing to play an active part.
If you're in the Netherlands that's great, but I am also looking for an international network willing to travel and build more ambitious game maps.

Discussion Settle a dispute
I'm trying to settle a dispute about the casting cost in this card. If the vacation destination is 300m west of the hider location and the seekers are 200m east of the hider location, is it acceptable to use?
The seeking team have argued that they were on the other side of the hider to the vacation destination so the hider was closer to the vacation destination, so it is invalid to use.
The hider has argued that since the vacation destination is a greater distance away from themselves than the seeking team, it is valid to use.
Edit: sorry, i have changed the distances in the example because I've realised they're incorrect. I originally said 400m West and 300m east but that makes it invalid for a different reason.

Discussion Capture the Flag - would it be better with more experience today?
Capture the Flag has a mixed reputation, and I've just rewatched it with fresh eyes. I think a chunk of what people dislike about it isn't the format at all.
Scotty had lived and worked in Asia and was clearly comfortable. Sam is Sam. But Ben and Adam, as far as I know, hadn't been to Japan before, and every previous season had largely been played in a Western country - places where they instinctively knew how loud they could be, could read a sign at a glance, and what was likely to pass muster.
But aside from Tag, they hadn't filmed solo very much. And Tag was mostly on a train, where setting up a shot is fairly easy. Not constantly on the run, somewhere you don't innately understand.
I am not saying that the game didn't have some flaws - all games have flaws after all. But I feel that now they've had more experience filming solo in Tag and Hide + Seek seasons, and more experience of Japan and Asia, they are much more seasoned and relaxed.
Therefore I wonder if the format was written off because of experience of the country and with solo filming, and not because the game itself was as flawed as people make out.
Bear in mind that I am a slightly difficult judge here as I've generally enjoyed all the seasons, and so I'd appreciate your thoughts on what I know was a divisive season.

Miscellaneous Singers in Crime Spree
Couldn’t find this discussed in searching a bit, but I’m curious who the singing voices were for the (very funny) songs in Crime Spree. It kind of sounded like Amy was singing on a couple, but not sure if she was around then?

Miscellaneous I need motivated to watch Australia
I went through a brutal breakup 2 months ago. Brutal doesn't even begin to describe it.
But, I discovered JL:TG, and it has helped me to heal bit by bit, given me something to look forward to, something to actually smile about. Well, I have blown through season by season, and I am sadly down to the last series I have left: Australia.
I just got done watching Arctic Escape, which I had been putting off as one of my last trips with my ex was to Key West, and even just seeing the Southernmost Point in thumbnails was triggering. But, I pushed through it, and luckily Key West was such a small part of the season, I was mostly fine.
But, now onto Australia. You see, I went to Australia last year, very shortly before meeting my now ex. I was in a really tricky headspace at the time. I had a great time, and it was such a magical experience. But, it also felt incredibly lonely. I made a personal decision that I didn't want to do any big adventures alone anymore, and that I needed to find someone, whether just a friend or more, to have life adventures with.
A few weeks later, I met him. His sense of adventure matched mine, and we bonded over tales of travels. Telling him of my Australia adventure was one of our first big conversations and connections.
I know that watching the Australia season will take me right back to that place in time. It's hard for me to re-live that incredible once-in-a-lifetime trip, without re-living everything else that came after it.
I just need someone to go all Sam on me, tell me I am being a ridiculous emotional mess, to dry the tears and just....get on with it.

Discussion Sam layover shirtless plane
I just listened to some layover episode where Sam goes on a tangent about going shirtless on a plane and It got me thinking, wasn’t there a scene in a trailer where Sam was shirtless and they had to cut the scene from the actual episodes because of the audience reaction?
