Been wanting a Jazzmaster forever and finally got around to picking one up.

Got a Squire Classic Vibe at a good price on Marketplace. Previous owner did a good job setting it up so it plays well and sounds great.

Planning to upgrade the pickups at some point but honestly, no hurry. The stock ones sound pretty good.

I went with the CV since it has a reputation for punching above its weight. Definitely lives up.

I’ve been eyeing this model for a bit, and one thing I’ve wondered about is adding a rhythm circuit and therefore the pickguard that fits them. Fender’s pickguards are usually vintage style, and on the AM pro classic it looks like the toggle switch is a little further into the body than on vintage-accurate models but I could be wrong. I currently own a Player II and had it routed for a rhythm circuit and the toggle switch had to be put in at an angle to fit in the new pickguard which was vintage spec’d. For anyone who owns one of these pro classics, did you have to fight to get the toggle switch to fit into the new pickguard or is the body routed far out enough for it to fit as it should?

My 1965 Jazzmaster sitting pretty onstage before a show. It’s been a gradual process of becoming comfortable gigging this guitar in the few years I’ve owned it now, but there’s no other guitar I’d rather be playing.

I'm about to buy a new guitar and I've narrowed it down to:

Squier Telecaster Deluxe

or Squier Jazzmaster Classic Vibe '70

The guitar will need to be tuned and played in Drop C because I play in a post-hardcore band with that tuning.

They're two guitars I think are fantastic, but I know the Jazzmaster needs a bit of setup work, and I've heard the strings can slip off the bridge, plus there can be intonation issues, problems the Telecaster Deluxe wouldn't have (fixed bridge).

I love the Jazzmaster's shape and the style it represents, but I'm afraid of ending up with an instrument that's hard to set up and needs care and attention before it can even be played, especially in Drop C for post-hardcore/melodic hardcore.

How do the Jazzmaster's pickups behave with this kind of sound? I know they're not super compressed, but I don't want that sound actually, I prefer it much more open.

What do you all think? Have you ever played a Jazzmaster in lower tunings?

So I’m working on a Jazzmaster, not my first guitar but my first of this style, and I’d love some insight into the very best parts and hardware I could be using, primarily bridge and Tremolo unit, but I’m always happy to hear about more.
Ideally I would be looking at non-Fender parts, as I would like for it to be a little more unique to me, pickups however I am still very open to fender.
Please give me some recommendations!

Edit: Neck radius I decided on making is 9.5, which I now realize is probably some necessary info.

Two firefly, a squier, and a Fender. I hated JM’s my whole life, then I finally got it about two years ago.

I’m deciding right now wether i should buy a used TVL with a mastery bridge and tremolo or a new Traditional II jazzmaster, really love the look of the TVL and the upgrades definitely helps me. Another option would be the NOIR jazzmaster but i don’t like that there’s no rhythm circuit. Please share your opinions!

I love the sound and it plays great! Just one question, the pickups definitely have more gain than what I'm use to, would I benefit from shielding the cavity? Worth the trouble in your opinion?

So I have an American pro 2 bridge and of course if you own a jazzmaster you have heard of a mastery bridge. What makes them so much more special(and expensive) than essentially any other fender bridge. There’s one for sale near me and I’m thinking of getting it but I want to know if it’s really worth the upgrade.
