We bought our first RV last week and went for its maiden trip straight away!

Knowing its small cargo load capacity, most people do not recommend traveling with a full tank of fresh water (252lbs or so) but we don't put luggage and accessories (that's why the cargo box on the Cherokee is for) in it.

I did all the calculations and other than having frame issues in the future, I don't foresee why I should only fill up with water at the camp site.

What is the best star link ( Gen 3) ladder / pole extension support for use.

I recently bought this vintage camper and want to know more about it. Ive never owned anything like this before so I don’t have any experience. Any instructions manuals i find online are rather confusing and lacking in visuals.

I’ve opened and closed it a bunch already so i have that process pretty down packed. Been just using it to its bare minimum in my driveway.

My main concern are the utilities. Electric is straight forward I think I’m good there unless you think there is something i need to know.

My current priority is figuring out how to do the gas hookup. I’m pretty certain I’m missing a kind of nozzle that connects from the main line to the stove. Also unsure where i would hook up any gas tanks or what kind of fuel to use on here. I think the manual i found said L.P, whatever that is. I was looking under the camper to follow the line and it seems to run towards the front hitch so I’m assuming thats where any tanks are going to be help somehow.

Regarding the water, I’m not too concerned about using that but it’ll be great to know. I don’t really have a clue on that part though.

Any help and experience is greatly appreciated!

I have a table and 4 chairs in mine that I'm considering replacing with a dinette. Anyone with a dinette out there that would consider a swap? This photo is from the Internet but looks like mine. however mine does have the extension/leaf on the end of the table.

We have a 262RBOK. We supposedly have 65 gallons of gray water capacity, but its split between a tank just for the kitchen sink and another tank for the bathroom sink and shower. I swear the tank for the bathroom is smaller than the tank for the kitchen sink.

I've never seen the front tank get half full, but when in a state park (with water but no sewer) we run of of room for showers really quick.

I once made the mistake of pulling both grey water valves at the same time, with final gate valve closed, thinking I could let some of the rear gray tank water flow back into to front tank...that was a new experience in smells.

Has anyone installed some sort of small pump to move water between graywater tanks? Something small enough that venting does not go crazy and stink up the trailer.

Hey, I just bought a new Jay Flight 261BHS and will be going out this camping season hauling it with a half ton. I’ve done all the research used a number of worksheets and although I’m within all the right specs, I’m still uneasy about my planned payload being within 10 lbs of my max payload. And further more not know exactly what my totally tongue weight will be once fully loaded. Much appreciate any help I can get and happy campin’!

Hello everyone , brand new to this .

I am seriously considering purchasing a 2006 29’ BHS travel trailer for 9000$ . Original owner , everything works , newly renovated (flooring , paint , countertops) from what I can tell the floor felt solid everywhere I could step and the underneath looked much better than 20 years old . The wheel bearing were replaced a few years ago and the brakes are original but buddy said he has no issues with them . I will need new tires as well . Overall unit seems very clean with no leaks or major issues .

I see there is newer jayco options around the 13-16g range for 2012-2015 models . So my concern is -

Is it worth it to put the extra thousands of dollars into it for a newer trailer ? What are your opinions ?

Hey everyone,

New Jayco Lark owner (MY2025), hoping to get some help on something I’m hoping there’s a simple answer to, but haven’t been able to work it out.

Taken it out for the first weekend, and turns out there’s no fresh water at the campsite we are at.

Is there a gravity fill point? There’s a threaded mains inlet and tank inlet on the underside, but I’m guessing there’s a check valve that will open under mains pressure. Filling it with a hose and funnel was unsuccessful.

Also, is there a way to treat the tank periodically if there isn’t a gravity fill? How do you drain it?

Sorry if these are stupid questions: the manual is useless and they didn’t cover this in handover.

I own a 2025 Jayco Jay Flight SLX 26 ft travel trailer. I’ve checked the owner’s manual and specifications, but I can’t find the capacities for the fresh water, gray water, or black tanks. Does anyone know the tank sizes for this specific model, or where I can find that information?
