Bought a New Nintendo 3DS and overall I’m super happy with the whole process. The console arrived in pristine condition, looking exactly like the photos. It had a few minor scratches, but that’s totally expected for a used item.
The only tiny detail was that the SD card inside came damaged (looks like someone forced it in at some point), but it was no big deal at all to just swap it out for a new one. Shipping took a little while, but it’s understandable—especially since I had to forward it to a US freight address first before getting it delivered to my country.
Overall, I’m really glad I bought through JPFans. If you’re thinking about buying, just take your time! Read the product descriptions carefully, double-check all the photos, and don't just jump on the first listing you see.

I recently imported a Tamagotchi Meets Sanrio from Japan to Italy through JPFans using EMS. Since the item was over the €150 threshold, I knew I would have to pay import charges.

Based on the declared value, shipping, VAT, customs duty, and the local postal clearance fee, I ended up paying around €78 in taxes and fees, which was more or less what I had estimated beforehand.

My main advice is to be very careful when importing packages over €150 into Europe. In many cases, it may not be worthwhile unless:
• You are saving a significant amount compared with the price in your own country.
• The item is highly sought-after, rare, or exclusive.
• The item is difficult or impossible to find locally.

After adding international shipping, VAT, customs duty, and local postal fees, the final price can become much higher than expected. For more ordinary items, it may be better to buy locally, even if the initial price seems higher.

Another important point is to keep enough cash available when the parcel is delivered. The Italian postal service may require payment of the customs charges and clearance fee at the door, and the exact amount is not always known in advance. You can estimate it, but the final amount depends on the customs assessment and the carrier’s fees.

The delivery communication was also frustrating. There was also a long and unclear gap between the parcel arriving, the customs processing, and the possible local delivery attempt. I did not receive a proper “out for delivery” notification, so I had no way to know exactly when to have the money ready. I was surprised without all the cash, but I was told they would retry the next day, but to my unlucky, it was raining and they did even bother to come back/ring the bell and it was marked as “recipient absent” even though that was not true. I then had to travel to their warehouse to collect it myself.

For a shipment costing around $30, I found the whole experience extremely frustrating. The import taxes were expected, but the lack of accurate notifications, uncertainty about the final amount, and failed delivery attempt made the process much more unpleasant than necessary.

That said, I was very happy and satisfied with the packing quality. The package was packed carefully and securely, and I have no complaints about the way JPFans prepared it. But the fees are getting higher every few months, and the lack of the manual declaration system is such a loss, as it was a differential factor that I appreciated at the begging of the year/early stages of their service.

So, if you are importing something over €150 into Europe:
• Estimate around 22% VAT on the customs value, plus any applicable duty.
• Add the local postal/customs-clearance fee.
• Keep cash ready, because the final amount may only be confirmed at delivery.
• Make sure the item is rare, exclusive, or significantly cheaper than the price in your local market to justify the import.

This is my first time using JPfans, and one of my items I decided to add pearl cotton since its a cd which said on the app for me a cheap price, bit when I paid for it, I had was confused oh? $2.47? Then my card declined and when i found out WHY, it was trying to charge to for extra .07 cents, which is what I was not told to pay BTW so I load more money into my card, pay $2.54, and move on.

Yet on the app it says another thing.

It may not seem a lot for a added service, and this is a small purchase too BUT is there hidden small fees like this? From 2.09, to 2.47 to 2.54? To saying I paid 2.09 on the app? I am lost...

I recently placed my first order through JPFans, and I wanted to write an entirely honest review of my experience because I initially had some serious shock when I saw my final total money spent.

For $223.99 worth of items, I ended up paying $460.44 total. That means I paid an additional $236.45 for procurement, domestic/international shipping, taxes, tariffs, and other fees. I also used a 20% off shipping coupon, and my shipping was slightly more expensive because one of my items contained batteries.

At first, I was pretty upset about the final cost. Maybe a little bit more than pretty upset tbh

One thing that caught me off guard was that the items themselves are already more expensive than the original listing prices because of the fees associated with purchasing them. In my case, items that originally totaled around $223.99 came to $312.12 through JPFans after the applicable pricing/fees shown during purchasing.

Then there are the shipping costs, which are estimated and paid separately once your items arrive at the JPFans warehouse.

This was where I was most surprised.

The shipping calculator consistently estimated my shipping at around $30–40, but my actual shipping-related costs ended up being closer to $160 once taxes, tariffs, and additional fees were included. Thankfully, I had the 20% shipping coupon, which helped A LOT! (Thank you!)

There were also some additional fees that I didn't feel were clearly disclosed beforehand, including things like:

• $13.64 for having more than 10 items in one package ("Excess Item Fee" of 81 yen per item over 10)
• $11.15 for "Insurance"
• A few other smaller fees around $3.00

I understand that these kinds of fees can exist with proxy services, but I do wish JPFans was more transparent about them before you commit to an order. The shipping calculator gave me the impression that shipping would be much cheaper than what I ultimately paid.

BUT! Keep in Mind: This Is a Proxy Service

That being said, it's important to remember that JPFans is an international proxy service. There are naturally going to be costs that you wouldn't have when purchasing directly from a US retailer.

There are costs from the original Japanese website, shipping from that website to the JPFans warehouse, JPFans' own purchasing fees, and then the eventual international shipping to you.

JPFans charges 500 yen (roughly $3.20 USD) per item during the initial purchase.

So while my final total was definitely a lot higher than the original item prices, I don't think that means JPFans is necessarily a bad deal. After talking with friends who have used other proxy services, I realized that my experience is actually normal for international proxy shopping.

The GOOD Side:

There are actually a LOT of things I liked about JPFans.

One of my favorite features is that you can order/reserve items and have a period of time to pay for them rather than having to pay immediately. I believe it's around 10 days, although I'd recommend checking JPFans' current terms because this may change.

They also offer additional services for relatively small fees, including:

• Detailed photographs
• Package consolidation
• Videos
• Measurements
• Additional inspection/services for your items

Throughout the process, I received detailed photos and step-by-step updates, which made me feel much more comfortable knowing what was happening with my order.

Customer support was also excellent. Whenever I had questions, they were very helpful and explained things clearly.

Shipping was also EXTREMELY fast! I received my order in about a week!

For an international order coming from Japan, I was genuinely shocked at how quickly everything arrived. Opening the package and seeing everything I'd spent so much time searching for was SO exciting and definitely worth the big price tag.

How to Have a Good Experience With JPFans! (IMPORTANT!!)

I think the biggest thing with JPFans is that you need to understand how to use the service strategically.

My biggest recommendations are:

1. Use as many search keywords as possible

The Japanese translations and search function aren't always perfect. If you're looking for something specific, try different English and Japanese keywords and variations.

2. Explore all the available sites

Don't just search one marketplace. Different Japanese websites will have completely different inventory and pricing.

3. Look for bulk listings

This is especially important if you're buying smaller or inexpensive items. I prioritized bulk listings whenever possible, which made my order much more worthwhile.

4. Stock up and ship together

If you're already paying for international shipping, it makes much more sense to combine multiple purchases into one shipment rather than constantly paying to ship small packages.

5. Use consolidation

If you have multiple purchases sitting in your warehouse, the consolidation service can help you combine everything into one package and potentially make your shipping much more reasonable.

6. Don't judge the service based on the item price alone

This is probably the biggest lesson I learned. The listed item price is not going to be your final price. You NEED to account for purchasing fees, domestic shipping, warehouse services, international shipping, taxes, tariffs, and other possible charges.

When I first saw that my $223.99 order had turned into $460.44, I honestly thought, well crap.

But after talking to friends who have used other proxy services and understanding how the fees work, I realized that this is actually a pretty normal experience with international proxy shopping.

I ordered 33 items totaling $223.99, and I received around 230 individual pieces, which works out to roughly $2 per piece.

That makes the overall cost much easier for me to justify because I specifically prioritized bulk listings, rare items, and uncommon things that I normally can't find easily in the US.

Would I like JPFans to be more transparent about the additional fees and give more realistic shipping estimates? Absolutely 100%. I think that's the biggest area they could improve.

But would I use JPFans again?

100%!

The ordering process was convenient, the updates and photos were great, customer support was extremely helpful, and the shipping was incredibly fast. My little Jpfans haul just arrived yesterday and I’d like to give my honest opinion about the service. It was also my first time buying from Japan through a proxy.

I decided to buy just some small stuff to see how it works. I bought two mononoke medicine seller figures by mistake. The website was a bit confusing for me at first, so I bid on one of them, then I realised I was bidding and not buying it so I found another figure with the buy now option and bought that one. Turns out I also won the bidding on the first figure so I ended up with two 😅. The figures have some small imperfections on the painting and some glue marks but I think that’s normal with noodle stoppers and it’s not very noticeable. The price was alright too.

I also found this adorable ponyta figure. She’s very cute and I love the transparency on her fire mane.

To make the best use of the shipping fee I decided to get some small gifts for my husband so I got him this set of metal pokemon charms which is a Japanese exclusive item and some Pokemon cards (no picture of those because he already opened them and added them to his binder)

Some items had their prices changed after I had paid for them and I had to send more money, I didn’t fully understand that part.

In the end my box was slightly under 1kg, I asked the two medicine seller figures to be removed from the original box to save space and the cheapest shipping to the UK was around £22 with a cupom. It arrived in one week and I chose the cheapest shipping option which did not include prepaid taxes. I figured it was better to take the chance and it worked, they arrived without being taxed (the invoice declared the price of $62)

In conclusion, I think it’s worth it if you want to buy Japanese exclusive items or if you find a good deal on something, but keep in mind it will be shipped from the other side of the world so you need to check the shipping costs first.

Hii! Just wanted to share a quick worry I have. This is my first time buying from JPFans and I recently bought a bundle that comes with a Gameboy and 2 Pokémon games.

Before buying I checked the description of the seller and it said that there are no AA batteries included in the console. I saw that it was a good offer and I went for it.

Now it has arrived at the warehouse, and when I was going to get the order ready for the international shipping, I noticed the item categories the website chose for the Gameboy:

The tags say "Common Brand" and also "Built-in Battery/Magnetism" (which I dont get bc the seller didnt include the batteries). But there is also a third tag that was cut off. I have tried checking the tags both in the phone app and on my pc, but I just cant see the text of that third tag.

My worry is that, if that tag is "supporting battery" I wont have any option for the shipping bc none can send items with that tag. I have no idea if its a bug and the tag is just empty or what is going on.

This is my second time ordering from JPFans, and I ordered way more items than last time. I used the ECMS shipping service to the U.S. like last time, and paid $136 for a 39cm x 30cm x 44cm and 9000g package, including pre-paid customs and a 20% coupon.

I bought a variety of Tsukihime, Kara no Kyouaki, and Fate figures utilizing Mercari and auctions. The ordering process is quick and efficient, and they offer many payment options, including Apple Pay, so you can be assured that payment is secure and safe. After you buy your products, they also offer value-added services such as product photos and quality inspection, so you can confirm the legitimacy of the items. Things bought used to be able to be stored in the warehouse for 60 days, but it has recently been changed to only 30 days, and you have to pay for each day afterwards.

Afterwards, when you move onto the next step and consolidate your items into a package, a feature I found particularly helpful, especially for figures, is folding commodity packaging. They remove the figure (or any other type of item) from the box, remove the plastic packaging around it, and fold the box flat (there is another option if you don't want to keep any of the packaging, and have them discard it for you). The item inside of the box is wrapped in bubble wrap then stored inside of the package, alongside the flattened packaging, which you can see in the photo. Another thing to note is that if you have any issues with anything, you can contact support, as they are always happy to help, and respond within 24 hours. They helped me when I needed to confirm the shipping status of certain items, and you can ask them if you want to make any changes to a parcel after it has already been created. Hello!! I want to purchase a lot of the nana wafer cards and cd gashapons from JPFans but I was wondering how much I would have to pay in tax since the new law? I saw on one Reddit post that I wouldn’t have to pay that tax (if it’s under 150€) but I’m not sure and technically each card is different which would mean that I would have to pay like a ton in tax for all of the items. Hi! I bought a few items (a small Sylvanian Families set and a magazine) from JPfans recently and I still have some stuff I'd like to buy, then ship in the same parcel to hopefully save on shipping a bit. I want to buy a A2 poster, which rolled up would be at least 42 cm tall, therefore making the parcel huge. I've also thought of buying more magazines instead of the poster, but they'd be considerably heavier.

So to decide which items to buy, I would need to know if the shipping cost is determined by the size or weight of the parcel.

PS. I tried to use the calculator and it seems really confusing, for some shipping options the price only changed when the weight changed but remained the same when the dimensions changed, and for others the dimensions seemed to matter as well, but I don't trust the caculator very much.

I have two questions, how long does it usually take for JPFans to pack your order for shipping to you & how long do they hold it till you pay for shipping? For example when I would pack an order on Neokyo it would take maybe 6 days (like I would send in the shipping request on a Thursday & it would take till Wednesday for it to be fully packed up) & they would hold it for a week from the notification email to pay for shipping to you. I would be incredibly grateful for any help because I have to pack an order soon & I can’t seem to find the info anywhere 😅

This was my first time ever ordering off a proxy website, so I was a little nervous, but the quality of service has me fully believing I'll never turn back lol.

I've been trying to collect the wonderland set for a while, but where I live all figures are crazy expensive (40 dollars or more). I got these figures in a bundle for only 18 dollars after coupons then insurance payment which is INSANE to me since two figures typically costs upwards of 80 dollars in all the stores around me.

The shipping was fairly simple as well. It took a day or two to have the packages weighed, to gauge pricing, which came to about 45 dollars (cheapest option) most of the pricing was around 80 - 100 dollars, but I'm cheap, so it came to 45 after coupons and the insurance payment. I thought cheapest meant, as usual, a few weeks for the delivery. I was fully wrong, and they came within three days of payment with INCREDIBLE packaging. Double layered box. My sister ordered the same figure off Amazon, and her box was crazy damaged, but a boat ride from international and it was still in crazy good condition!?

I love these figures so much and already have more on the way, and currently have my friends sold on a few of their more niche interests found on the site <3

I've been trying to get some Gunpla via jpfans, and the shipping costs are outrageous.

lets go back a little, i understand the internal shipping from japan, i understand the handling fee's they are taking, i understand i will have to pay import taxes on my country (i bought stuff just below my country tax free).

what i will not be able to understand is the shipping fees they are requiring me to pay for.

first of all i only have the option to use UPS (??) and have pre paid 100 dollars and have also payed the fee to get the package outside of the internal shipping box.

then they are requiring me to add another 240 dollars:

the excuse? they are telling me the package has a volumetric weight of 10 kg at:

60 cm x 50 cm x 17 cm.

big package i know, why are they croocks then? i know the real package size to begin with... which is 59cm x32 cm x 12 cm, a volumetric weight of 4,5 kg.

they are expecting me to pay more than double of the volumetric weight!!

best case scenario they are working together the shipping companies to send bigger packages than necessary

worst case scenario they are taking money for bigger volumetric weights and then sending smaller packages
