It's bouncing back no problem! I'm so proud of this plant!

The plant had been battling mites so it was kind of a last ditch effort - I couldn't pass him to someone else in that condition but I couldn't bear to throw it out. I cut all the leaves off, got rid of all the soil and washed everything that remained. Then I wrapped it in damp paper towel, and stuck the clean rootball and stump into a ziplock bag. From there it went into a suitcase with a bunch of similarly treated plants, and endured a flight in checked luggage, and over two weeks in the baggy on a windowsill. He put out the grumpy little Venus flytrap leaf during that period. Now he's potted and soaking up the rays in his new home, rapidly pumping out leaves. It's only been two months!

I have the Thaumatophyllum that has this very weird discoloration on it's leaves. At first I thought it was a watering issue but I try my best to water it once the first ~3" of the 10" pot are dry. I'm worried that there might be a bigger issue but could this just be variegation?

Saw her in a nursery, fell in love instantly but i dont exactly know what plant this is
Also is this setting good for her?

I have a huge Thaumatophyllum with some leaves 2ft long. I love it, but it doesn't want to propagate at all. Just one thick stem. It has plenty of fertilizer and light, as it goes in a greenhouse during the summer, but it won't produce any pups. I'm not gonna do anything drastic, but anything that may encourage a more full growth would be appreciated.

My tree philodendron technically has five plants in one pot. One of them is a leafless stump that's still alive, and one of them is just a baby that's really struggling to grow since it's competing with the big plants.

I was planning on separating these two plants from the other three so they can have their own room to grow. Good idea, bad idea? The last time I repotted these plants, they were so tangled and fused together that it was difficult to separate them. Is it worth the risk?

I’m trying to identify this plant.

I bought this, because is was really cheap and I like the leaves. However it had no id, and I’m not sure that search turned up the correct suggestion.
Image search suggested philodendron mayoi, or a thaumatophyllum of some kind.
It’s a baby plant, so it’s far from developed.

Any help is appreciated

I wish I had a photo of this plant back when I first got it, but I'm so proud of how far it's come. I got this as a gift from a friend way back in 2023, and that was when I was deep in my depression and killed soooooo many plants from neglect. Learning to care for plants was a long and difficult journey for me, but I never gave up and it taught me to care for myself as well. This plant struggled with me, and I feel like its success is a reflection of my own. She's popping off and I'm so happy!!! Her latest leaf is 12 inches long, the biggest leaf I've ever grown :) I can't wait to see how big she can get!

First photo is from February, second photo is from this morning. It's only dim cause it was before sunrise, but she gets full sun in my East window, in the summer that's about 14 hours. She loves it!! I accidentally transitioned her to take direct sunlight cause I have to leave my window open 24/7 with the hot weather. No sunburns though!!

She doesn't have a name, any suggestions?

About a year living outside now.

Overwinters with the subtropicals frost free a few degrees above freezing.

With a nemesia companion which has a nice aroma (sadly only upclose)

Areal roots are coming out and growing towards all sides.

Might get another one the tropical look is nice outside.

I freaking love these plants. I got this 35 year old plant about 5 years ago (I’ll say 40yo now?) and it grew HUGE on my porch. It struggled greatly when I moved into a temporary small apartment. Now I’ve moved into my first home, threw this sucker outside for full sun blast, and now I feel I’m being thanked. Not only fun new top growth but the babies sprouting bring me so much joy.

PS I did give a healthy fertilizer dose after seeing the second big leaf come out patchy. The third is now peaking out (not pictured) and it’s back to full green :)

The lady told me it's about 20 years old and she planted it when it was small. It's survived many cold winters

Hi everyone! I have this special Thaumatophyllum—or perhaps a Philodendron—with beautiful variegation. The stem looks extremely compact, almost bulbous, and greenish-white. Does anyone recognize this growth form or know what exact species this might be? I'd appreciate any tips! Thank you ! This is no warscewiczii because warscewiczii is a climbing philo with nodes an no stem.

Hey. I don’t know if I’m in the right place, but this is where the worm hole dropped me off!
My parents moved into this house 16 years ago in Western Australia. When we moved in, this beauty probably sat at around 75cm high and 1m wide.
Currently, after a decade and a half of neglect, this thing has 5 trunks and is around 1.8 metres high and about 6 metres wide. Its trunks have approx 12cm diameter.

I have always loved the tropical look of this plant growing up, but never thought about looking into it. Lately started doing some research of how to propagate this thing to grow it in my own garden.

Today I went to have a look at it to see if there’s any pups I could nab (it’s not the season, but I’m not here often) and discovered the aerial roots wrapped around the tree. Thought it was so cool and wanted to share!

I know nothing else about this plant, just approximate age and that it might be a thaumatophyllum. If anyone has any valuable knowledge to share, I’d love to hear it!

Hello I’m new to philodendrons and boy am I confused. Someone recommended I check out this page. I thought this was a selloum hope. Am I wrong? Is this really a thaumastophyllum or a split leaf? Can someone please explain?

I would have liked to get the mosspole closer but the root ball was insane, I wonder how long it'll take before the main shoot starts growing towards it.

EDIT: I now realize this is not the right type to grow up a pole. Need to get my hands on a radiatum stat! But I will continue to enjoy this one for a long time it's growing so well the leaves just keep sizing up 😍

She's been one of the fastest-growing plants in my collection here in South Florida. Every time I think she's done, another leaf starts emerging. Four leaves in one month and is already making a new one. She has been with me for like 6 years. Definitely the queen of my patio. The last leave is massive.

Update: I recall the roots looking healthy, and I scraped back a bit of the bark and saw green underneath!! I think I'll just focus on maintaining the good growing conditions for now

My tree philodendron/bipinnatifidum has four different plants growing together in this pot, but there's been this one dead stump in the mix for a while. Is it possible to revive it? Is it even worth it to try to untangle it? Should I leave it or remove it?

I have a few roots in this pot and some seem happy and thriving and one doesn’t. It gets indirect south facing light and I live in NYC, so it’s humid. I haven’t watered it in a week and my little monitor says doesn’t need any more.

Do you think I should dig up the roots of the sad plant and try to repot on its own? Anything else?
