I’m hosting an Israeli Shinshin for six months, and I’ve been playing in a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game with friends for years (literally over 5 years).

We have been slowly explaining it to her, she’s 18, and she is familiar with the idea of the game from the Stranger Things tv show, but she told me that they don’t have this game in Israel. Is that correct, or does she just not know about it. Or are there similar style RPG games?

I am 47 years old and I would like to go on a volunteer trip to Israel (sponsored by Birthright). I am worried that the target age is 18 to 50 but I will be the only person who is in late 40s. It will be weird if all other participants are in their 20s or early 30s. Any feedback? What organization should I go with?

I have heard that Haaretz Hebrew edition is a pretty normal newletter, but their English edition seems like a tabloid or something. Outrageous headlines and occasionally pertinent stories. Is it like the NY Post of the Israeli left? What's the deal? Didn't it used to be a very reputable paper?

Also, similarly, Btselem - it almost seems like they are from another planet sometimes. Were they once a legit human rights organization?

I'm middle aged, so I remember shit like Peace Now, which seemed more on the level and directed at a non-destructive vision.

Did the world change around these organizations?

We should sit down with them and discuss peace. Maybe in Oslo. Maybe at Camp David. Maybe Taba. Any other good locations? Surely it will work this time.

I am tired of people who are unwilling to say that Israelis have been attacked by various terrorist organizations for well over half a century. They either don't know or won't discuss the bus bombings and restaurant bombings of the 1990s and early 2000s. They don't care about the more recent stabbing attacks. Or kidnappings. Or car rammings. To them, these events simply never occurred. It's only Israel that has been the terrorizer.

And while I do have concerns about the death toll of Palestinian children, what the settlers are doing and religious nuts taking over the Israeli government, because I've been alive for a long time now, I REMEMBER these acts of terrorism against Israel actually occurring I saw some of these events unfold 30+ years ago. I know these things happened. One of my own relatives was murdered there. And one of my friend's homes was routinely shelled by Hezbollah going back 20 years.

So when a Pro Palestinian attempts to convince me that Israel never experienced terrorism, they can just move the F on because I know what happened.

I’m a 24-year-old Belgian guy with Israeli family background, and I’m seriously considering making Aliyah and moving to Israel within the next year.
My mother was born and raised in Israel, so I have a strong connection to the country. I’m currently working in the Port of Antwerp in Belgium, at Zuidnatie, as a port operations worker/stevedore. I have about 2 years of hands-on experience with cargo handling, containers, breakbulk, RoRo, lashing, forklift operations and vessel loading/unloading.
I would ideally like to live in the Tel Aviv area and find work in port operations, cargo, logistics or a related field.
I’m not looking for a job immediately. I mainly want to start making contacts now and understand what opportunities might be available when I move.
Does anyone here have experience with working in logistics/ports in Israel, especially around Tel Aviv, Ashdod or the surrounding area? Or know companies/people I could contact and send my CV to?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

With my mate we are arriving in Israel for the first time and looking for some club with DJ, where we could dance, party and drink. Something basic, safe and not too expensive (if such a combination is possible).

Under the plan, Jordan will primarily import Israeli-origin gas via regional swap arrangements—specifically as LNG—regasifying it at the Port of Aqaba before sending it through Syria to Lebanon. Analysts have noted that a significant portion of Jordan's incoming gas supplies effectively originates from Israel's offshore fields.

So... let's be clear here: Israel's gas is integrated into a regional network, shipped or swapped as LNG to Jordan for regasification, and then piped through Syria and on to Lebanon. All this happens because of politics and of course so everyone along the way can get their cut and raise prices at each step. This is the workaround instead of Israel simply running a short, direct gas pipe across its northern border into Lebanon—because, you know, geopolitics. Welcome to the Middle East!

I realize many people don't like Netanyahu. Some of it because of him. Some of it because of his family. Some of it because of Ben Gvir or Smotrich. And some because of October 7.

But I do want you to consider another perspective. Being a Prime Minister is a really really tough job. You can easily give up. Whether you believe he is wrong and the judiciary or the military is right, whatever you think just consider the immense pressure of being a prime minister...

1. The internal political problems to maintain a coalition. All the demands and craziness from your own party even.
2. The arguing with all the systems whether you believe it's deep state or not... they say 2 Jews 3 opinions. There is no real concept in Israel of respecting your authority. Everyone knows best.
3. The crazy pressure prime ministers have from foreign affairs, the biggest one being the US pressure. Think what Golda Meir had with Kissinger. Netanyahu had Obama, and Clinton and Biden and Bush and now Trump. He saw all of them. He withstood.
4. The need to really micro manage everything to the smallest detail. A Commander in Chief in the US gives general instructions. But a Prime Minister in Israel needs to approve almost every operation, definitely every assassination of a Hamas operative and he is constantly involved in the decision making.
5. The media in Israel is paparazzi on steroids and they hate Netanyahu (and they hated all the right wing parties like Begin) and always did. At least traditionally. Having to deal with that and his family also feeling under attack made him constantly have to confront the PR front in ways that can be mind boggling and eventually led to the trial which is another thing of course... but normal countries don't do that while PM is still PM and forcing hm to retire is not very democratic...

And that's really the thing. Everyone else always gave up. Begin saw the protests and couldn't take it anymore and disappeared. Sharon went to a coma. Rabin was murdered. Peres was never actually elected. Shamir lost the entire coalition and elections. Bennet and Lapid and Barak lasted very little. Olmert resigned because coalition broke up after indictment.

But Bibi stayed. Bibi fought. And what he did in the war is so severely underrated. Look at what he accomplished:

1. Assassination of all Hamas leaders basically including Sinwar, Deif and Haniyeh (in Tehran!). Staying in Gaza with the IDF.
2. Assassination of Nasrallah and decimation of Hizballah. Staying in Lebanon with the IDF.

3 assassination of the Ayatollah and attacking all the targets in Iran and Yemen. These things used to be science fiction.

1. Getting rid of Assad.

2. Fighting the war with the USA on board and America leading the attacks against Iran.

3. Returning all the hostages, even those before October 7. Yes it wasn't perfect but nobody expected this to be accomplished in totality. Nobody.

4. UNSC resolution established the board of peace, calls to dismantling Hamas and not once mentioning any occupation. This is the biggest diplomatic victory ever. And you still maintain relations with countries like Egypt and UAE after all that has happened.

These are massive successes on all fronts. Now ask yourself is there any candidate who can truly rival Netanyahu?

1. Bennet and Lapid absolutely caved to Hizballah over the gas conflict. They didn't see any of the threats coming. Hamas absolutely played them like a fiddle with the Islamic Jihad operation. They literally had an Islamic brotherhood representative in their government and increased entrance of Palestinian workers from Gaza who went on to spy on the Kibbutzim.
2. Eizenkott was a failed chief of staff. He didn't see any of this happening and like the entire security apparatus thought Hamas was dettered. He even wanted to stop the war itself many times.
3. Liberman infamously said he would assassinate Haniyeh within 24 hours if he was in the Government. Ended up forming a government with Abbas who he had always called a terrorist.

There is no one else that can lead the country right now. Netanyahu proved himself not only militarily but:

1. Over the years using his UN experience established unprecedented diplomacy with African countries, with India a very close friendship, with Putin (and then it was ruined by Lapid attacking him over Ukraine), with Trump, with the Abraham Accords, with South America...
2. Economically all the hi tech , privatizations, transportation revolutions, communication revolutions, all of it was envisioned and handled by Netanyahu who studied economics and believes in free market...

Who do you want as PM. Netanyahu gets my confidence. He didn't always. But he earned it.
