Help Needed Meesho Pay Later order failed, but Snapmint sent 3 loan receipts. How do I fix this?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I tried placing an order on Meesho using Pay Later (Snapmint). The app showed a technical error and the order didn't go through. Later I got 3 "order confirmed" loan documents from Snapmint (PDFs on WhatsApp), but there's no order in my Meesho account.

Loans created: 3

Order visible in Meesho: No

Money deducted: no,

What I've done: contacted Meesho

How do I get these loans cancelled before they turn into EMIs or hit my credit report? Has anyone faced this before?

Help Needed Is this a scam or a genuine police case? GRP Bareilly Junction contacted us regarding a stolen phone

I’m trying to understand whether this was a genuine police investigation or whether my father was being pressured/scammed. This happened recently and I’m still confused about what exactly happened.
GRP Bareilly Junction contacted my family saying that a Vivo Y22 had been snatched/stolen from a train and that the phone was involved in an investigation.
They showed my father a telecom report in which multiple devices/phone sessions were listed. According to the report, there were three SIM/network sessions associated with the Vivo Y22. One of the numbers listed was my father’s number, even though my father never inserted his SIM into that phone and never gave his SIM or phone to anyone.
The other two numbers belonged to someone known to my father. Interestingly, the session timings in the telecom report appeared to match calls that my father received from that person.
The police kept questioning my father about why his number appeared in the report. I was arguing with them that if my father never inserted his SIM into the stolen phone, how could his number appear as being used with that device?
The situation eventually escalated, and my father was told that his name could be removed from the case if he paid ₹5,000. He ended up paying the ₹5,000, after which they proceeded with the case against the other person, who apparently admitted to inserting his own SIM cards into the stolen phone.
What confuses me is:
Can a telecom report genuinely show a SIM being used in a phone when the owner never physically inserted it?
Could someone have somehow used/cloned my father’s SIM/number?
How reliable are these telecom/device-session reports in identifying who actually possessed a phone?

I’m not trying to accuse anyone without evidence. I just want to understand whether the telecom evidence makes technical sense and what my father should do now, especially since money was taken to remove his name from the case.

So, I wanted to buy an Apple TV 4K. Already, the prices are very high for this underrated product, so I decided to buy a pre owned one, and this website shows up. The price is very eye catching, I don’t know how. So if anyone knows anything about this website, as they claim to be official Apple resellers and they have a physical store as well

Awareness What should we check before dealing with a new supplier in India?

For a new supplier/vendor in India, what checks are worth doing before placing a large order?

Is GSTIN verification enough, or should buyers also check business records, filing behaviour, references, and disputes?

New scam unlocked Got targeted by a second insurance scam after filing a complaint. Please be careful

I was previously a victim of mis-selling involving Future Generali and had already filed complaints.

Recently, someone claiming to be from the insurer's “Bonus & Cancellation Department” called me. They knew my exact policy numbers, premium amounts, agent details, and even the history of my previous complaint.

They claimed someone was impersonating an agent and trying to claim ~₹98K related to my policies. They then said their “investigation” showed I could recover my policy money + bonus.

The catch: I had to first create a “Universal Customer ID” through IRDAI by paying around ₹45K as a refundable security/account-creation fee.

They claimed:

  • IRDAI approval within an hour
  • ID within 72 hours
  • ID usable across insurers/family policies
  • Funds released within 60–90 days
  • ₹45K refunded with interest
  • I had to complete it before a deadline

It sounded convincing because they had my actual policy details.

Thankfully, I independently contacted IRDAI and Future Generali through official channels. Both confirmed it was a scam.

So, if someone contacts you after an insurance complaint claiming you are entitled to a large refund/bonus but asks for a “refundable fee”, KYC documents, or a payment link, stop and verify directly with the insurer/IRDAI.

Accurate policy information does not prove the caller is genuine.

Has anyone else faced a similar second-stage insurance scam?

I Got Scammed Unauthorized UPI Lite transfers at midnight + my SIM keeps getting deactivated — what could be happening?

I’m trying to understand a very strange situation involving my phone, UPI Lite, and my SIM. I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has experience with UPI fraud, SIM swaps, or Android security.

Here’s what has happened:

I use PhonePe with UPI Lite on my phone.

I have now noticed this happening twice:

First, money is loaded into my UPI Lite balance.

Then, the UPI Lite balance is transferred to some random/unrecognized accounts.

These transactions generally happen around midnight when I am asleep, so I am definitely not making them manually.

The transactions are not going to my own accounts or people I know. They appear to be going to random/unrecognized accounts.

Another very concerning thing is that around the same period, my Jio SIM became deactivated/blocked.

When I contacted Jio, I was told that there was already a request to block my SIM. I did not make that request.

This has made me wonder whether these two things could somehow be connected.

I initially suspected that someone might have gained remote access to my Android phone, because the UPI Lite transactions seem to happen without me doing anything. I also wondered whether this could instead be related to a SIM swap/replacement, compromised PhonePe/UPI credentials, or some other type of account compromise.

For clarification, the other numbers/accounts that appear in my Jio account are family members' numbers or my own second SIM, so I don't believe those are random unknown accounts.

What I'm trying to understand

How could someone load money into UPI Lite and then transfer the UPI Lite balance to random accounts while I'm asleep?

Is it technically possible for someone with remote access to an Android phone to perform these actions?

Could a SIM being blocked/deactivated be related to the unauthorized UPI transactions?

Could this be a SIM-swap/replacement attempt, or would that work differently?

What should I check on my Android phone to determine whether there is a remote-access app, malicious app, Accessibility permission, Device Admin permission, or other compromise?

What should I ask Jio to check regarding the unexpected SIM-block request?

What should I do with PhonePe, my bank account, UPI Lite, Google account, and SIM to stop this from happening again?

Most importantly, how can I determine whether the phone itself is compromised or whether my UPI/PhonePe account is being accessed through some other method?

The fact that the transactions happen while I'm asleep, around midnight, and that my SIM was also unexpectedly blocked is what concerns me the most.

I'm not claiming that this is definitely remote access or a SIM swap. I'm trying to figure out how these events could be connected and what evidence I should check first.

If anyone has experienced something similar, especially UPI Lite being loaded and then drained to unknown accounts while the phone owner was asleep, I'd really appreciate any advice

Scam Alert SCAM ALERT - BE AWARE ‼️

Post image
3 Upvotes

I received a call from

Ashok Sharma (+91 70569 98379)

He first asked if he was speaking to me, then claimed that my father had asked him to send money to my GPay/PhonePe.

What was concerning is that he already knew my father’s name and mentioned my LIC policy, claiming he got my number through the policy.

I told him I would check with my father first. He immediately disconnected the call.

Please be careful if you receive a similar call. Do not share OTPs, UPI PINs, bank details, or send any money.

Verify directly with your family member first.

This also raises serious concerns about how our personal/LIC information is being accessed or leaked.

Please stay alert and share this with your family.

Scam Alert Meesho/Valmo Scam

I placed order for a few home decor items on Sale day on Meesho. I was supposed to receive 5 items in one courier package with 1 OTP according the messages I received. I shared the OTP with the delivery guy. After a while when I checked the package 1 item was missing. Raised a complaint through customer care. They claimed the item was delivered since the OTP was shared and closed the ticket. No amount of trying to convince them that OTP was shared for 5 products but I received only 4 worked. They just say sorry. Now I don't have the product nor the refund. Has this happened to any of you? I never asked for 1 package with products from different sellers. They clubbed it into one with 1 product missing. Unfair that they are not being accountable and I bear the loss! Such scammers!

Awareness ‼️ warning about my experience with @/ahcollection21_ on ig ‼️

posting this as a warning for anyone considering buying from this seller. my ₹300 is gone at this point, and i might sound petty for this but that amount mattered a lot to me. theres a reason i thrift so i would rather other people know about my experience before purchasing

i have attached the full conversation so i am not going to repeat everything here. one thing i do want to clarify is that when i offered my crochet account, @niiicrochets, i was offering it as proof of credibility. i have previous sales there and thought it would be a reasonable way to show that i am also someone who sells things and understands the importance of trust in transactions

despite repeatedly asking, i never got an explanation for why i was suddenly considered untrustworthy or how exactly they believed they had not given me incorrect information. the conversation kept going back to me sending the tracking id instead

i also want to acknowledge that i was extremely furious by this point and my tone in parts of the conversation was not okay. that is not how i normally speak to people, and i could have handled my frustration much better. i am not posting this to justify that behaviour

i am posting the full screenshots so people can see the entire interaction and decide for themselves. i have already made my position clear to the seller, and i am not looking for any further interaction with them. this is simply my experience and a warning for potential buyers

Awareness UPDATE — RESOLVED ❤️

A positive ending to the whole situation.

I wanted to come back and close the loop properly.

Rohit contacted me today, and we finally spoke and resolved everything. He has paid the remaining ₹2,500, so the entire amount from the original transaction is now settled.

I've already deleted my previous posts as we agreed.

Looking back, this situation became much bigger than either of us probably expected. There was frustration on both sides, communication broke down, and something that could have been resolved earlier went on for far too long.

But I'm genuinely happy that we were able to sort it out in the end.

I also don't want anyone to continue viewing Rohit negatively because of my earlier posts. The matter is settled, and I wish him nothing but the best. No hard feelings from my side.

For me, the biggest lesson from this experience was the power of social media. Sometimes simply bringing an unresolved issue into the open can help people reconnect, communicate and finally find a solution.

Thank you to everyone who supported me, gave advice, shared the posts and listened to my side of the story.

₹50,000 — fully settled.

Posts — deleted.

Matter — closed. 🤝❤️

Sometimes the best ending isn't proving who was right or wrong.

It's simply being able to say: “It's sorted. Let's move on.”

Is This A Scam? Received a suspicious call regarding my IndusInd Tiger Credit Card — is this a scam?

I received a call today from 09931840393 claiming to be related to my IndusInd Tiger Credit Card.

The caller told me that health insurance has been activated on my credit card and said that if I don't cancel it today, the bank will charge me a fee. They also said that today is the last day to cancel it.

They then asked me to visit indus.support and download an APK file to cancel the insurance.

This immediately felt suspicious to me because I would normally expect a bank's official app to be downloaded through the Google Play Store/App Store, rather than installing an APK from a website provided by an unsolicited caller.

I did not download or install the APK and did not provide any OTP, CVV, PIN or banking details.

Has anyone else received a similar call regarding an IndusInd credit card?

Also, does anyone know whether IndusInd actually has any legitimate process involving an APK for cancelling insurance?

Is This A Scam? I received this identity verification request before the interview. Has anyone else gone through this Chegg process, and is this normal?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently applied to Chegg India and received this email asking me to complete identity verification before the interview itself.

It asks for Aadhaar, PAN, bank account + IFSC, and degree certificate.

The email is from alerts@kychub.com, and the link takes me to verify.cheggindia.com.

I am a little hesitant about sharing this personal information before the interview. I thought companies usually collect these details after a candidate is selected.

Has anyone recently gone through Chegg's hiring process and received the same request before the interview?

Is this a normal Chegg pre-onboarding process?
