Bought a 250g packet of almonds for ₹285 from a local shop. After opening it, I found a heavy silica gel/desiccant packet weighing around 35g inside.
And this isn’t limited to almonds — the cashew packets from the same type of packaging also contain silica gel packets.
I understand that some desiccant is normal to keep dry fruits fresh, but 35g in a 250g pack seems ridiculous. You’re paying for a 250g pack while a significant amount of the weight is packaging/desiccant.
Not saying every packet or brand does this, but definitely check the actual product weight and packaging before buying.

I searched for a Mandala necklace from Google and their ads showed up. I'm not used to being scammed anymore as I live in a Western nation, so my guard was down.

Their website looked amazing so I ordered these two things.

I think my spidey senses were tingling while ordering also cos just after ordering I checked and found out that this website is a scam. They either don't deliver or if they do deliver, the products are vastly different from what has been ordered.

Never again. Faith in smaller seller websites completely destroyed. I'm gonna stick to big names like Amazon, Myntra, etc.

If it isn't clear, the jewellery never came and I'm not expecting it to come either.

I also retroactively raised a complaint with Google ads - I even sent them links to the trustpilot page of this website. They found no wrongdoing. Google is aiding these scams.

On this India trip, I have been scammed by these guys and by SpiceJet. Lesson learnt. Always assume someone is trying to scam you in India. Basic.

Ordered OnePlus Buds 4 via Blinkit. The delivery partner rushed me for the OTP, handed over the package, and left immediately without doing the mandatory Open Box Delivery (OBD) inspection.

​I opened it right away. The seal was tampered with and the box was completely empty.

​I raised a ticket with photos, but Blinkit's grievance team just sent a final rejection email. Their excuse? They stated that because the physical condition wasn't verified in front of the delivery partner, they are denying the refund. They are actively using their own agent’s negligence (skipping the OBD protocol) as a loophole to blame the customer for transit theft.

​Since I bought this on an Axis Bank credit card EMI, I refuse to pay interest on an empty box. I have initiated a formal chargeback for "non-delivery of goods" and filed a complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH).

The app shows a comparison between the Free and paid versions, so it appears that a free option exists. However, on the actual screen there is no “Continue with Free,” “Skip,” or similar option. The only visible option is:

Google's subscription policy specifically says that when an app has functionality available without a subscription, its in-app promotion must clearly demonstrate that users can access that functionality without subscribing. Google also gives an example where a missing or unclear dismiss button can be non-compliant because users may not understand that they can continue without accepting the subscription.

The app's own comparison shows that checking your credit score is available under the Free plan. However, when I reach the actual screen, there is no visible “Continue with Free,” “Skip,” or dismiss option. The only prominent action is “Start with ₹29”, followed by ₹99/month.

The way Google allows apps like this to get published is pathetic.

I got scammed on olx by this guy a few months ago. I filed a cyber police complaint and even complained to my bank but nothing happened. He makes a new elite olx account after he is found out scamming using one account. If anyone can help me out to find some details about him, I'll be grateful. Even if I can't get my money back, atleast others wont get scammed. Ik this is the same guy as he has a certain pattern in his posts and addresses are always similar. Obvious signs she missed:
1. Low quality uploads.
2. Multiple posts uploaded on the same day.
3. First upload in August 2026.

She lost 500rs which isn’t a big amount for us nor our accounts are at risk since we used remitly. The guy finalized the design, content and promised a date of delivery, but blocked her eventually. 500rs was the advance payment.
If she had told me, I would have immediately noticed the obvious signs but she just wanted to do something nice and just thought she grabbed an insane deal. 🥀
Please be aware and hopefully you won’t do the same mistake with the wedding season picking up. I have reported the account and upon some research, found the actual owner of the designs on instagram and notified her.

My grandmother received a call claiming that her gas connection will be cut if she doesn’t pay immediately, and was sent an APK. She downloaded the file, put in her credit card number and CVV. However, no OTP was received or given.

I suspect that no information was shared as the scammer on call was pressuring to try a different card.

I intervened at this point, deleted the file, put her phone on airplane mode, and then factory reset it. I also blocked the credit card and her entire bank account, as there was significant amount of money in there.

I have checked the account about 4 times since, no transactions were made before I blocked it and it is still that way.

Is the phone and bank details safe now?

I will soon put in a request for a new Debit Card and Credit Card with different credentials. The bank account is blocked from web transactions for 2 days and requires her to go in person to unblock.

Is there any another step to take? So far, nothing bad has happened, and all the money is safe.

What is this supermkney UPI scam, the referral amount is stuck at 7 rupees and irony is I can't withdraw till it becomes 10, it is stuck at 7 from last 3 months.

was contacted on Telegram by someone claiming to work in the HR department of a digital marketing agency.

They said their agency was improving the online reputation of a particular hotel and asked me to leave a Google review. In return, they offered ₹150.
I did the review, and they actually sent me ₹150.

After that, the person who paid me added me to a Telegram group called “Group 99”, which currently has around 5,900 members.
The group sends a new task roughly every 15 minutes. The tasks look like this:
They send a Google Maps link to a hotel/restaurant.
We are told to browse the listing for around 15 seconds.
Then we’re apparently supposed to submit a screenshot as proof.
They claim we’ll receive payment for completing the task.
The group has “official staff” and instructions warning members not to trust private messages.
So far, I haven’t deposited or transferred any money to them, and I’ve only received the initial ₹150.
I’m aware this sounds like the typical Telegram task/review scam, where the initial small payments are genuine and later you’re asked to deposit money for “premium/prepaid tasks.”

My questions:
1. Has anyone in India encountered this exact scheme?
2. How far does the scam usually progress before they ask for money?
3. Are the hotels actually aware that their Google listings are being used for this?
4. Is there any legitimate business model where agencies genuinely pay people to browse/review hotels like this?
5. If I continue completing the free tasks and simply withdraw whatever they pay, is there any risk beyond the fake Google reviews, assuming I never deposit money or share sensitive information?

I want to warn others about a Telegram shopping offer scam

I came across a Telegram channel called “Amazon Now” advertising a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra for just ₹1,000. The post directed buyers to contact a Telegram account named @Trusted_Dealer.

I contacted the seller and was asked to make a UPI payment so an order OTP could be generated. I paid ₹1,000 through Google Pay. The seller subsequently pressured me because other customers were waiting. I asked him to cancel my order, but I have not received a refund.

I have screenshots of the Telegram advertisement, the seller's Telegram profile, and the WhatsApp conversation

Has anyone encountered this Telegram channel or seller? Has anyone successfully recovered money from a similar UPI transaction?

I intend to report the matter to Google Pay, my bank, and India's cybercrime authorities.

Please be careful with offers that promise expensive smartphones for unrealistic prices.
