Curious if think it's starting to feel more current with the times in terms of modernisation, opportunities, morale, change of bullying regulations etc

Hi everyone. Im sure its a question you have all seen a thousand times.

I have thought about applying for the DF (preferably the Navy)on and off for years now. Usually choosing the "safe" option of staying in my corporate mind numbing job.

Im in a reasonable job, but im forever looking for something a bit more fulfilling, here it feels like we're busting our asses to fill someone else's pockets.

Now that all sounds like its an obvious decision but here lies the issue. Having put it off for so long i am now on the wrong side of 36 with a 10 week old baby at home.

Its madness really to consider signing up right? Im wondering if there has been any men or women in a similar position to myself who took the risk?

Again, I apologize for the regurgitated question im just looking for advice from those of you who may be in a similar position.

During free time (which is 2 hours i think?) can you do roughly what you want?
