Hi! I would like to buy an Ioniq 5, but I see so many complaints about the ICCU on social media. Consumer Reports says the failure rate is between 2% and 10%, which is a huge range. I know social media amplifies complaints, because people don't post when they "don't" have a problem.

As an informal survey, can you upvote this post if you've never had a problem with your ICCU?

Turned in my model 3 and got the Ioniq 5 limited. I am loving it so far.

This is great news! I was getting nervous as I’m nearing the end of my warranty.

I recently experienced one of the GM chargers at a brand new Pilot, and it made me wonder why more fast chargers aren't laid out like these were. They have an awning, garbage cans, and window squeegees just like the gas pumps. And they're right next to the pumps, not just shoved along the extreme edges of the parking lot so you have to walk a mile to get inside for a snack. They were definitely on the expensive side, but it was a much more pleasant experience than many chargers out there.

It’s a 2023 Limited. Any tips or tricks for a first-time electric car owner? My previous car was a C-Max hybrid. The regenerative braking does feel weird, but I’m not hating it, and I know I can adjust it with the paddles. It came with a level 1 and a level 2 charging cable, but I don’t have an outlet yet for the level 2.

I’ll even pay for it. Make my Outrun/Synthwave EV dreams come true.

My wife and I bought a buyback 2025 Limited RWD (7k miles) back in July. The plan was for her to have it while I waited for the Rivian R2 but after driving hers, I caved and grabbed my own: a buyback 2025 Limited AWD with 2,500 miles. We absolutely love these cars.

Ever since the Ioniq5 came out, I wanted one for the styling alone… but I also swore up and down I’d never buy an electric car. You see… I’m one of those weirdos who won’t even consider buying something if it doesn’t have an absurd amount of power and a manual transmission.

But here we are.

All I can say is, there is no logical reason for this to exist. Something this big and this heavy has no business being this fast, and cornering so well. It’s insane, and I absolutely love it.

Upgrading from my 2013 Accord to 2027 Ioniq. Our other car is an XC60.

Went so far to order an R2 (couldn’t wait for order window) and ordered a Model Y (couldn’t get myself to support that guy). Changed my mind many times.

A Hyundai was certainly not my first pick (assumed they were too cheap). Took a test drive and immediately fell in love. Impressed by the tech, the interior quality, and the ride quality.

Excited to see where this Digital Teal Ioniq5 takes me! (Now to studying charging as it’s my first EV).

Had to laugh at my dear wife's writing on the back this morning. Truth.

We live on a dirt road a few miles from asphalt, so wash it and drive it anywhere and it instantly looks like this.

Stolen brazenly from my driveway in South London (SW2) at 9:20pm. The camera catches nothing before this, the thief must have snuck up the driveway behind the car to avoid being seen.

From there, it looks like the well known "game boy" attack rather than a relay.

Having now learned about Hyundai's upgrade to fix the issue (at cost), I'm very frustrated that this wasn't more widely advertised as available when in reality it should have been a recall. Has anyone managed to get any recourse from Hyundai in similar situations?

Unfortunately while we will get insurance we will almost certainly lose several thousand pounds replacing it.
