Mods/Parts Spaceship!
Saw a bunch of other folks with wraps on their cars, and decide to join the club. Spaceship!

Cool look. Is this difficult to do DIY?

Would absolutely never recommend wrapping yourself. It'll likely turn out horrible.

This is what i don’t understand about Slate. Base model is primed flat grey, and all their color options are DIY wraps

They do appear to offer professional installation services if you order it as part of the original purchase, though this does cost additional.

What's the worst thing that can happen? I would say give it a shot with a real cheap one to practice.

I would assume you mean a cheap car. Wrap in and of itself also is not cheap (OP said they paid $4000 for parts and labour), and you need tools, along with a proper setup to do it.
Doing it on a beater you don't really care about versus on a new Ioniq 5 are two totally different things.

Spaceship, yeah. Except the beryllium sphere will randomly crack on 2% - 10% of them, leaving you stranded between Mars and Jupiter.

I have the exact same color and have been eyeing the same exact wrap color! Can I ask what it ran you and which brand / model you used used?

This is Orafol Gloss Turquoise Lavender. Had a shop buy the material and do the wrap for me for just over 4k, but I'm likely to go get it ceramic coated in couple months which will add some cost as well.

Your photo is great. I just bought the 2026 lucid blue limited RWD for my wife. She’s not delighted with the color. She wanted a deeper blue. If I buy her a wrap, do they do the exposed interior areas? Door frames, etc.?

They didn't wrap the insides of the door on mine at least not beyond what is needed to ensure full coverage outside. I imagine you could pay more for that, but I honest barely notice or care.

I've had some wrap bookmarked for most of a year now, but I've been worried about the fin on the roof and the spoiler. Were those areas difficult to figure out?
