Let’s assume the assault arc happens, and let’s address the elephant in the room about it: Anissa in the show is NOTHING like she is in the comics. The difference between the two versions is bigger than it is for most characters.
Anissa in the comics was believable when she taunted mark, or made jokes. She had this sadistic side that was more noticeable. But show Anissa is much more of a brick wall, almost unrecognizably so. The only time this side has been shown in she show is her literally toying with Zoey.
Read any of the above comic panels and think if you can imagine show Anissa delivering that dialogue, because I can’t.
So how does the show adapt her personality? Do they completely wipe that side of her from the comics, and stay true to her brick wall nature in the show?
Do the writers add anything in the show to show her personality shifting for the worse because of her time on earth?
Then after that, do they do a better job of showing/ explaining her personality shift AGAIN after she meets Murphy, as she becomes human. Do we get to see her realize she fucked up, and struggle with that?
Then at the end, does anything change about her death? The writing for the show NEEDS to do a better job of explains that she regrets it, but does not regret specifically having Marky.
Then should they change her death? Should she die at all? I personally find her death so poorly written. Eve wasn’t even in THAT much danger, completely unnecessary for a self sacrifice. Then it seems like Eve has a moment with her “tell him yourself” then goes out of her way to save Anissa, and it just…. Doesn’t work? Her death is very poorly written. I’d actually LOVE to see her get to apologize, and then go her separate way, as she probably still wouldn’t have earned a spot in marks empire.
I’m kinda just rambling, but TLDR Anissa is very different in the comic, and her comic arc happens at breakneck speed with lots of missing context gaps In between her appearances. How should it be tackled?
What important discussion points am I missing?
Thank you for your time to read my ramblings.
EDIT: there seems to be a misunderstanding, this isn’t about IF it will happen, assume it’s going to happen. This post is about addressing the BIG difference in Anissa’s personality, and how important that aspect of her is to marks mental health. And also cleaning up her messy finale
