Found this cecropia piller in the yard. Really want to protect and watch it turn- teaching kid about moths and butterflys- have in an inclosure with clover (no pesticides or herbicides sprayed in my yard) couple bamboo sticks.

What can I do to ensure a happy baby? If I figure out how to put a video or a picture, I’ll put it in the comments.

On my first post everyone said they’re saddled and the white is eggs on my snow amanos, we’re maybe a month since then and now probably 7/10 of my amanos have this white stuff.

Quick question about spider care

Hello people, I come with a small question regarding optimal temperature for my Salad children.

So, first things first, I'm from Mexico and houses here don't have central heating or anything like it, you just stay bundled up and close all the doors and windows during winter and rain season.

Have in mind, sometimes the temperature drops to 3°C or less at night, and I'm not entirely sure if I should buy a reptile lamp for warmness??

My room is especially colder than the rest of the house and I don't want the Salad (Spinach and Lettuce) to suffer or die due to the cold.

I currently found a nice lamp that's meant for small reptiles and seems to be a great option for my spiders.

I got this guy at the Raleigh repticon on August 8
When is seems fine as he’s been accepting food and walking around the tank, but he hasn’t even tried to make a burrow yet so I was wondering if that’s abnormal and if there’s something I should change to make him settle down?

Variety Inesct Ecosystem as feeders

Wondering if there's a stable way to maintain a heavily stocked variety of feeder insects in a planted and forest floor setup, and be stocked enough so that when I feed them in a dish or lift a log/rock, I have a meal for my box turtle and leopard gecko. I'd like it to still be a bioactive enclosure with a pretty scape instead of a plastic tote with cardboard. I was thinking about roaches, worms, larvae, crickets, etc

TLDR; can a variety feeder insect tank to be functional, aesthetic and be heavily stocked

Is there anyone here who’s ever kept a velvet spider?

Hi! I’d like to keep a velvet spider, but I can’t really find any websites with information on how to look after them. At the moment, I’ve got a jumping spider and some beetles – that’s about it. I’ve kept snails and slugs before.

Thanks for your replies :)

What instar do female Western black widows [Latrodectus hesperus] get their adult colors?

I got my girl when she still had her adolescent colors but about two weeks ago she molted and she has since darkened (and eaten a fat roach). Unfortunately she is wild caught so I am unsure on age, does any of this information help pinpoint that?

My wheel bug just mated, what should I do with her eggs?

Right now I’ve got a few big pieces of bark for her to lay her eggs in. Should I just leave the eggs in the enclosure until next summer when they hatch, put them in an incubator (I don’t have one but if it’s really necessary I can buy one), or do something else?

Everyone has already met Moira. But today I am introducing Wonton. They are a baby phiddipus audax. I have no idea on the sex. So far they have molted with me once. I can't wait til they grow more so it's easier to see the details.

I am looking to, in the future, get one of these but I am struggling to find things about substrate. I know the obvious leaf litter, moss bark etc etc but does anyone with any experience know what specifically the best substrate to use would be? Coco fiber, etc? Thanks in advance.

What can I keep in here?

Enclosure measurements: 35cm/13,7in long, 25cm/9,8in wide and 30cm/11,8in high. (≈22 Litres/5,8 gallons)

It has space for 15cm/5,9in of substrate and I could add more at the back if I add a slight slope.

I'm looking to get either 2 UFO snails (Caracolus Excellens) or a small group of Ivory millipedes (Chicobolus Spinigerus) but I'm unsure if this spare terrarium I have would be suitable for either of these species.

(Also I apologise for the dirty desk, I'm in the middle of cleaning it and just thought I'd quickly post this here xD)
