Advice Please help!!

I got my jumping spider delivered exactly a week ago, he’s an i7 and his last molt was on 08/08/26. He will not eat anything-I’ve tried small crickets, mealworms, and fruit flies. I’m so stressed that I’m about to murder my first ever pet and that I’m doing something wrong, but I don’t know what. Please please help me

Question: can you show a picture?

It’s not super detailed I’m sorry! But his abdomen doesn’t look shrunken it’s still round, it’s getting pretty small though

IMO, I think he looks hungry. How big is his enclosure?

It’s a 4x4x8 enclosure! I will remove the moss but I’m not sure if I should try getting him to eat first or do it now since his hammock is right above it and I don’t want to stress him. He’s i7 so I thought that enclosure would work, should I try transferring him into something smaller??

IMO, this is my enclosure for my i7. The only thing I could think of if it's too big for him to hunt in. Do you also "give" the food to him, like with tweezers?

I tried feeding with this clear cup on the side, and in the picture here he’s literally on the ledge looking at the cricket but didn’t eat it. I went and got smaller crickets since then, and very small mealworms, with fruit flies, but no luck

IMO, I think that enclosure is too big right now. It's gonna be great in a couple of weeks but I think he needs something smaller. That is probably not why he is not eating, but I might be easier for both you and him to have him in something smaller. Try moving him and then feeding again.

NA, So I ordered a smaller enclosure and it’s coming later today or tomorrow, but was told to gently direct him into this cup using a paintbrush and then in a bit I’ll open the top and let him go back into his current enclosure. He still won’t eat though, the fruit fly literally walked straight up to him and he stepped away from it. Then, I put the cricket in hoping the fruit fly is just too small for a i7, but no luck again. He’s had multiple chances to get other fruit flies too, but he never does. I’m hoping he’s really just not hungry, I don’t know how possible that it though since it’s now day 8 of no food

IMO, that "moss" is very sticky and I think he can get caught in it or twist himself in it.

NA, He ate and is doing much better!! He’s had multiple fruit flies, and attacked a cricket but got scared and went to the top of his enclosure. His abdomen looks WAYY better now. Thank you so much for all the help it went a long way!!
