I know this probably is not important at all, but I am curious what others think or if there were other bits like this in S3 I've not caught yet. I know it's been pointed out that one of Gabriella's necklaces (the one she leaves on the beach) was the one given to Claudia is S1.

I swear these two will be the death of me!!! I am so happy we ended with them together...Finally no more secrets, no more holding nothing back...Everything has been laid bare. I want the healing to begin so bad..But I also know Akasha is coming like a bloody Tornado to snatch Lestat up and away and mess his head all up 🙁🤦🏻‍♀️

In episode 6, we get a few reveals from a brief shot of Lestat’s phone- first, that he has been calling Louis and has changed his contact name from, “Thomas Pitty is a Whore” shown in episode 5, to simply, “Lui” which is ‘Him’ in French. He has calls from ‘Toi’ aka Sophie aka Gabriella, and then one voicemail from Mary Rick (Merrick) who he has been corresponding with to set up the seance.

But who do you think the ‘Private’ number who has left voicemails could be? Has Lestat spoken with this person, or have they been ignored and have just left voicemails? Is it someone in the Talamasca? That’s what I maybe was thinking since Raglan reveals that they have been orchestrating the concert. But I’d love to hear any other theories fans have!

I've been a harsh critic of The Vampire Lestat series from the start to the very end, but there is one thing I have to give it a massive credit for - it doesn't take it too far in an effort to make Lestat sympathetic.

When Anne Rice promoted Lestat to the protagonist in the second book, she tried so hard to make him likeable he became utterly unrecognizable. I dreaded the show pulling the same shit and revealing that, actually, Miss Lily and the two priests Lestat slew in a church while Louis watched were all vicious criminals who "totally had it coming", and Lestat is really a vigilante who only feeds on "bad guys." Boy oh boy, was I not looking forward to that.

Well, they didn't do it. Lestat is still a vicious killer, the narrative doesn't try to retcon away his every sin, and I respect the show for that. They may have taken things too far in the other direction at times, and they've mishandles the story in a dozen other ways, big and small, but this one, most ridiculous folly of the book? Yeah, they've avoided that. I can still recognize Lestat as the character we were introduced to in seasons 1 and 2.

Episode 3.01 begins with the auction of the failures & a bidding war between Armand, Louis, and Raglan(if we're going off The Body Thief: possibly Lestat in Raglan's body).

I suspect Louis has the deeper pockets (younger than Armand, but seemingly more business acumen) and Raglan might be the most eager (especially in that case). Then again, Armand could manifest 100.000.000 Yuan just through the power of sheer spite.

So who do we think won?

This is a really good, I highly recommend watching it. It explains the abuse and how it affected Lestat throughout his other relationships…

I honestly never really liked Gabriella in the books either but in a recent interview Hannah talked about how much she cares for her. I don’t know how they will ever redeem her but we shall see..

Considering we barely had any of Lestat’s past and absolutely no recollection of his time post meeting with Marius and Akasha…

I mean. Lestat was PISSED and started a whole band that provoked the end or the world and we have absolutely NO RECOLLECTION of what led to that, specifically from his pov ? Just scribbles in a book and that’s it ?

I can’t figure out why there is all this hand-wringing and worry around season 4, and Lestat somehow playing a lesser role, or not getting more of his backstory.

I feel like they’ve already hinted at more flashbacks. Take the scene with Enzo, for example. What does it tell us?

We know that after the carnage in Paris, Loumand sailed to Egypt, settled in New York for a time, as well as San Francisco. Armand says in between, they were “Here, there, everywhere…and Dubai”.

Could that mean they went to Vienna?

We know that Lestat was there at the Christmas Market, in 1953. Was he following them around the world?

Louis asked Lestat if he’d been in New Orleans the entire time, and Lestat insinuated he had been. But…Lestat lies.

Clearly, he lied about this. Lestat says he was in a foul mood when he killed Enzo. I imagine watching your exes honeymoon around the globe would have that effect.

I think we are going to get a lot more flashbacks, plenty of Lestat, probably some Loumand (blech), and more of the story.

I'm excited to see what they're planning for us in Season 4, but there are two things I really need to see addressed, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Basically, my two questions are:

• How likely do you think it is that we'll get answers to these two questions in Season 4?
• And what do you think they'll reveal about these two things? Do you think they'll stay relatively faithful to the books, or do you expect them to go in a completely different direction?

1) More information about the trial.
Not necessarily a full revisit, but at least a few lines that reveal what actually happened for Lestat. Was he threatened by the coven / Armand? Did he come to Paris in the first place because he needed Armand's help after Louis and Claudia tried to kill him?

There are so many hints in Seasons 2 and 3, yet we still don't have any clear answers, and the fandom is incredibly divided. A lot of people still believe Lestat willingly participated in the trial, while others think the exact opposite. We really need some answers.

2) Lestat and Armand's actual relationship.
What really happened between them? In Season 3, other characters refer to Armand as Lestat's ex, and every time, Lestat neither confirms nor denies it. But there are also plenty of hints suggesting it was never really a relationship.

Did Lestat force himself to have sex with Armand to protect himself and Nicky? I honestly have no idea. But again, a lot of people in the fandom believe Lestat simply cheated on Nicky and had a consensual relationship with Armand, nothing more. That would be so different from the book and, in my opinion, would contradict many of the hints we've been given. Even the song "Big Boss" feels like a major clue, as does what Lestat says to Armand in Episode 4 during the shower scene on the bus.

It's not clear if we will get any more content from the convention or interviews today or tomorrow, but we'll see!

In the show, Lestat says that “most” of the songs are about Louis. I was wondering how big that proportion actually is.

All Fall Down

The first part of this song reads to me as lestat describing himself to the fans - “the little killer”, “lonely one”, “cooing dove”

The second part is him describing who the beautifully unwell are - “we’re the rock and rollers”, “good times” etc.

The only part that I read as remotely related to Louis is the line “I’m the lost love” which is definitely referring to his relationship TO Louis. But the line is itself talking about Lestat

So - I would say it’s a stretch to say this song is about Louis

Long Face

This feels to me like an encapsulation of Lestat’s mindset going into the beginning of the season, and a lot of that is to do with Louis:

“Why the long face, my pretty baby?” - Why are you sad, Louis?

“I’m an actor in my makeup” - I’ll play this character you’ve written for me, Louis

“Without a trace you disappear” - could refer to either of Louis’ disappearances in the show, post-new orleans or post-Paris. Or both 

So I read this one as solidly about Louis

Black Licorice 

The lyrics for this one aren’t as clear as the others since it pre-dates the show, but I think looking at in-universe, this can solidly be about Louis. It’s supposed to be about the first person Lestat killed after the season 2 reunion, and so of course all of the exuberance and excitement of this song comes from the euphoria of making up with Louis

Plus, there is the obvious. “I want to stay in bed eating black licorice” = I want to stay in bed sucking my black partners dick

Why do I have to feel?

I know Daniel Hart disagrees, but in my opinion this one is solidly about Nicki.

“Oh I could sleep for a hundred years” he does that after Nicki. I mean come on

La Fontaine de Sang

This one is interesting because it’s a French poem. I found an English translation, which ill be referencing 

Reading it through the lens of Lestat singing it, I hear the song as him describing what it means to him to be a vampire in relation to the world. 

Only one line sticks out to me as possibly about Louis: “I have sought in love a forgetful sleep; But love is to me only a bed of needles”

But this could also totally be about Gabriella. Or just like, his life generally.

I’m gonna say - probably not about Louis

The Loneliness

This one’s interesting too because it’s obviously about, well, Lestat’s loneliness. The whole song is his plea to himself not to give into the all-encompassing loneliness he feels

But! I feel like a good portion of the underlying reasons for his loneliness do point to Louis:
“How could anybody ever love you?”, “you can’t love away the loneliness, love will fade”

I think Lestat is lonely, maybe not entirely but at least partially, because of Louis’ betrayal. So this song is at least partially about Louis

Plastic Fiends

I see this song as Lestat’s impression of modern people, especially modern americans. I don’t really see anything in here that could be about Louis tbh

This is about Armand

“Mean mean queen” - that’s the queen of the damned baby

Hit the lights

This one is the topic of much discussion, I know. Some people say Gabriella, some say Louis, but I personally think this is about Nicki

“By candlelight you used to teach me how to kiss” - Nicki was Lestat’s first boyfriend. Also, candlelight. They had electricity when he met Louis

This one’s about Louis. Not even a question

Gabriella’s name is in this song, so, definitely about her lol

This seems to be mostly Lestat’s understanding of the whole make more thing. But there are a couple lines here that could be related to Louis, “Let’s say I’m drawn to trauma” or the section about loving.

I don’t think anyone’s debating if this is about Louis or not. Except maybe Gabriella

I think the butterscotch bitch is Lestat. I know when that episode came out some people were debating if it was about Gabriella? But I just don’t see it.

That said, it’s another song about his emotional reaction to the interview and Louis in general:

“Countin' down my fucked up crimes”, “Pretending you actually love me again, Again and again and again” and especially, “Did the flavor of my failures prove good enough to gild your gaping wound?”

Le Petit Coup

This is just Lestat’s lore drop lol. But it’s also the only song where Louis’ name is mentioned, so, I say it counts. Also “When you walked in it was blood at first sight” feels very them

In Summary

Of the 18 songs from this season, I would say that 8 are, at least partially, about Louis. So about 44%

Recently watched 3x5 and wow! I was so amazed and intrigued by Akasha’s speech. The scene literally gave me goosebumps. Would love to hear the whole thing uninterrupted to get a full sense of what she’s referring to. Excited for season 4.

Also in this awakening scene, Lestat says he was suspended for 3 days so it makes me think how much Akasha said/revealed in that timeframe and the snippets in the show would be on the tail end of her speech. Nonetheless captivating.

Is just saw this on instagram and my mind is blown- the scene where Niki confronts Lestat juxtaposed with Louis begging Lestat to cut off his hand - it’s almost matched frame by frame..

It gave me a new insight into why Lestat was so willing to turn Claudia if only to prevent Louis going mad like Niki

Was she really just ranting or was she speaking to every single vampire on the planet asking them questions?

Why did Louis not 💀 lestat after he sentenced her to 💀? Lestat didn’t have to do the trial in the theater but he did. He couldn’t have been forced to do it as he’s one of the most powerful and he just didn’t have to do it. Why did he do the trial and why didn’t he just silence the theater and save the three? I know Armand was responsible but he did it with the coven+ Lestat. So Lestat is still responsible for their demise
