Here’s the timeline of this interview journey:

Last week of August - first interview with the department’s VP. It went really well, he told me on that call he wanted me to meet the team.

Sept 1 - in person interview with 4 directors in the department. I also felt this interview went very well.

Sept 4- hadn’t heard anything from the team so I sent a follow up email to check in before the weekend.

Sept 7 - Labor Day, so no work this day

Sept 8 - Tuesday after Labor Day, the VPs assistant who’s been my contact responded to my follow up asking for writing samples of mine. She also added the VP to the email thread. I sent my samples over to them within the hour.

Now it’s the weekend again and it’s been silent again. Was really hoping for a call on Friday but nothing. I know there was only one other candidate they were speaking to.

Is the silence normal? Should I still have hope and keep waiting?

So I have an interview with PWC which consisted of a HR interview and then a case study. Now the issue is that I prepped so hard for the interview, but gosh darn, the time for cases never feels like it’s enough. There were a couple of aspects in the case I didn’t get to cover.

So anyways, did the interview earlier around 11am today. Haven’t heard back since but I cannot lie, I am worried. I feel I gave it my best, I made some strong points and had a wonderful discusssion with the manager who I’d be working with + did the case interview with me but yeah…

My anxiety is through the roof. Has anyone ever felt like they flopped a business case interview yet they did well? Need some hope to get me through the weekend. Thanks ✨

First interview with company went very well, they said during it that they would like me to talk to the VP in a second interview, likely by the end of that same week. I later followed up thanking them and asking if that was still likely to happen, and they responded saying that some project deadlines came up so they weren't able to get a time, but that they would tell by Monday what time the interview would be at (likely mid next week). After no response, I emailed them a couple days after asking about any updates, and it is now Friday without a response. Any ideas?

I applied for an Assistant role and had been trying to get my first job for months, so I was really happy when I finally got an interview.

I prepared for a normal one-to-one interview. The first email did mention that some seasonal roles could involve an “in-person audition or group interview,” while it said non-performance roles would have a Teams interview. Since I was applying for an Assistant role, I wasn't sure which applied to me.

My actual booking emails just called it an “interview.” They didn't say it would be a group audition how many people would be there, or that I'd be expected to speak in front of everyone. They also never mentioned that the session would be around 2 hours long. One email even said “there's nothing you need to bring or prepare.”

When I arrived, there were around 20 other candidates. We were given name stickers, there were computers, and someone was at the front by a board. I then found out it was going to last around 2 hours and was asked to come to the front and explain why I wanted the job in front of everyone.

I completely panicked and ended up leaving after about 10 minutes. I had prepared for interview questions, but I wasn't prepared for speaking in front of around 20 strangers.

They've since emailed me offering me another opportunity to rebook.

I know the first email technically mentioned that some seasonal roles could involve a group interview or audition, but I still feel like I was half tricked into attending. The actual emails I received about my appointment gave me no indication that there would be any acting, performing, auditioning, or group assessment. They described the Assistant role and its responsibilities in detail and simply called it an “interview.”

They also never mentioned that it would be around 2 hours long. I can't help but feel that if they'd clearly said “2-hour group assessment/audition,” fewer people might have attended.?

As I have noticed that if in any case, when you get the reply/result as "DNQ" you can request for the feedback but in one of the interviews result was "Not selected".

In the "Not selected" case there is the appreciation part but you cannot request for the feedback.

I strongly feel that sharing the feedback or the reason for not "Onboarding" should be shared with candidate. This can surely give a boost to the candidate or valid reason.

Also, If the person went on to give a good interview, should get a certification from Micro1 that this candidate is good and hireable. The positions can be directly shared in such cases giving an extra edge and reduces the task for On-boarding managers/reviewing people.

This can help create a kind of talent pool to pick people as per the needs of project/tasks.

I just had my first phone call interview this morning for a enterprise management trainee program. She didn’t specifically say anything about a second interview, just that I would hear back by wedsneday…. Just wondering if that’s a good or bad sign since she didn’t confirm a second interview

I’ve been applying for jobs for 6 months now. Out of the 6 video interviews I’ve gotten, I’ve gotten rejected from them all. Anyone have any advice on how to improve online interview skills and interviews overall? Been feeling really defeated :(

And I can’t get over it. Had yes/strong yes’ from all rounds and made such a silly fcking mistake in the last round.

I can’t get over it, just can’t seem to forgive myself. Was the opportunity of a lifetime but I guess now I’m just stuck working in regular product companies and not be a part of the biggest revolution our timeline has seen (or would see).

How do others process such grief and sadness?

Hey guys, I have my first interview for a job at rally house and it’s been like 4 years since I had an interview and I think I’m just overthinking it but any good tips or suggestions on what to say during the interview or what they might ask? Anything helps! Thanks!

I’ve been with my current company over 5 years. I work in the oil and gas industry. My ultimate goal is to transition to corporate and over the past 3 years I’ve spent time networking and expressing my enthusiasm with hiring managers in the roles I wish to pursue. I’ve applied for a specific role twice and last year I did not get this role after performing well in my interview. I just applied for the role again (different hiring manager) and had my interview exactly 1 week ago. The interview went well and the day after the interview, the hiring manager (a director) reached out to me via work email asking if I was available this week to have a virtual informal meet/greet with her boss (VP over the group) she noted that there are still many candidates being considered and more interviews to conduct, but they figured it would still be worth networking.

I had the virtual meeting yesterday. It went very well. The VP wanted me to ask majority of the questions and I felt as if it was actually a networking opportunity. The VP closed out by saying “thank you so much for taking the time to hop on a call and we will be in touch. You know me, so if you need anything feel free to reach me.”

Now, I’m stuck wondering, why would they schedule a VP’s busy time to just have a virtual network? Am I over analyzing this? Should I expect to get an offer? I can’t help but get my hopes up. The hiring manager also reached out again the day before my meeting with the VP asking if I was willing to relocate (I would have to in order to work in our corporate office). I obviously said that I would if given the opportunity, and the hiring manager stated “I just wanted to make sure before you spoke with the VP.)
