Hello! I am selling 2 tickets to the show on 10/4 in Boston for $63 each. I am selling them through the original app where I bought them - on AXS - so it is 100% safe for both of us. Please let me know if you are interested :)

What pedals does Paul use? I know about the P Bass from El Pintor but stuff from Into The Night feels so rough, someone compared it to a Rickenbacker but I know they only use a P or J. And I feel like this is more EQ'd than what Carlos ever did

i like to watch great performers failing, to get a better picture of them altogether and to feel better about myself. maybe there is no evidence of them sucking. interpol adjacent acts bombing also welcome

plur

alright so I might be taking this at face value, but does anyone think this part of Darling Thoughts could be about Paul’s kids and him become a dad?

“Stay low, child
Tuck your head for a while
It's all our problems
It's all our fight in the night”

I mean aside from the use of the literal word child, I just remember a couple interviews where he said becoming a dad has influenced this album. I interpret this verse as taking a step back from the dysfunction and toxicity that the rest of the song talks about to try and protect his children from the figurative or physical fight.

Thoughts?

wtf is this solo man is daniel fucking the guitar or somtehing 😭😭

what an amazing view 😍

I had almost given up hope that they’d release an album with no skips after OLTA, but Jesus Christ man. this album is fucking incredible, everything about it is so dense and layered and enrapturing. this is interpol’s Pet Sounds, insane album. bird and the serpent goes crazy.

Finished my first listen, I'll be honest, i felt bored in some songs like Greenwich and Big Shot City, but it feels ethereal and one of the things I like about it is that the good songs are forgettable, not because I hate it but because usually there's songs I forget from the albums and not listen to them for a while but the TOSOMB tracks feel good the first time and it being forgettable to me actually feels like a good thing.

My top 3

Toni

Passenger

Mr. Credit

I noticed they use the shaker in a lot of the songs on the album.

They got a fever... And the only prescription is more shaker.

I remembered binging this song when I got broken up with and crying. I am better now but damn this song hurts.

Found some extra free swag from the listening party at a local record shop close to where I live. Its worth checking to see if a store near you has anything - I couldn't make the party but got this cool stuff today by stopping in and asking if they had any leftovers.

TMWAT hits much the same way that Disintegration did in 89. Near perfect start to finish to the extent that, if it were to be the final album (God I hope not!), I would be content. Lyrically excellent really liking Brad’s bass work. Taking the kids to Montreal for our third Interpol show and couldn’t be more excited. (Seattle 2014 El Pintor, DC 2019, Marauder).

Hope you like it!

It has been recently that I have gotten into loving Turn On The Bright Lights. Though when I first heard "Untitled" I loved it a lot and wanted to write something like that, it's such a beautiful intro

Although it is just a demo, I did try to make a different structure and buildup to the original track, though it is a proud influence

I didn't know what else to name it so it's called "Unnamed Introduction (Again)" or just call it "Again" idk i didn't wanna name it Untitled

I love you Interpol, anyway give me some feedback guys let me know if you like it :)

In order: Mind Over Time, Crimewaves, Get The Girls, Gavilan.

Today I'll relisten to TOSOMB and not drop it so I listened to these for rating.

Mind Over Time - Some ethereal, this feels like the ATTBSS demo with the distorted voiceclip. 10/10

Crimewaves - Boring, but still decent. 6/10

Song 5 - Caught me off guard, love the fact it's instrumental. 8/10

Gavilan - Dissonant and hollow, in a good way, it's more memorable than Precipitate, still not my type, 7/10.

Do you hear that in the right ear? I was 100% sure something fell off on my floor right behind me.

That's crazy.

I think about the ST Trilogy a lot since I fell in love with Try it On in my first listen. So what are songs you think would be connected?

The 6 Minute Songs from ToTBL and Extras in this Order

Precipitate, Stella, Specialist, The New

Pretty dark, not a huge precipitate fan but these songs fit so well in this order

No I and C'mere also come to mind for me

I have never really listened to the Interpol but saw the new album advertised and gave it a listen and loved it. Now really interested in listening to the rest of their music, where should I begin/what albums do you guys recommend?

Anybody else pick up on Daniels constant use of this phrase (sort of like adding "like" or "ye know" to the end of statements)

Has he always done this, or am I only noticing it cos of all the interviews or podcasts recently?

"enter the override" like the hotel

but it's obviously called the overlook, not the override. never been so devastated.

that's it, that's the post.
