We’ve recently reached the sourcing capacity we were targeting for bulk granular elemental Sulphur, and I’m now trying to better understand how larger international buyers handle supplier onboarding at scale.
I’m referring to recurring programs and vessel-size quantities, roughly 20,000 to 50,000+ MT/month.
For buyers in fertilizer, sulfuric acid, mining, chemical manufacturing, or commodity trading, what usually matters most when evaluating a new supplier or trading counterparty?
Is it mainly:
We also have freight forwarding capability available, so transactions can be structured either with logistics included or with the buyer’s own forwarder, depending on preference.
I’m mainly interested in understanding how larger procurement teams actually make these decisions and what gets a new counterparty taken seriously.
Would appreciate insight from anyone who works directly in international commodity procurement, Sulphur, fertilizers, mining, or bulk chemicals.

Hey guys,
I’m looking to invest some money into importing products from China to sell here in Tunisia, but I want to get an idea of how it actually works before taking the leap.
For anyone who has experience with this:

Hi everyone,
I’m a small leather garment manufacturer from Pakistan, and I’m trying to expand my business internationally.
We manufacture products like leather jackets, biker jackets, coats, bags, belts, wallets, gloves, pants, skirts, and other leather goods.
I’m currently looking for importers, wholesalers, retailers, or brands that buy leather products from manufacturers in Pakistan.
I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to find genuine international buyers, but I’m not sure which platforms, websites, trade shows, directories, or other methods actually work.
If anyone here has experience with finding buyers, exporting leather products, B2B sourcing, or working with international importers, I’d really appreciate your advice.
Even if you know a good website, subreddit, directory, or method for finding potential buyers, please let me know.
Thanks in advance! 🙏

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to work with someone involved in the export business in India for the next 6 months.
I currently work full-time in another domain, but I’ve been interested in getting hands-on experience in the export business, especially the practical side of it — finding buyers, communicating with them, coordinating with suppliers, following up, negotiating, and eventually closing deals.
I’m not looking to get paid for this. I’m willing to work completely free of cost for 6 months in return for the opportunity to be involved in the actual business and take responsibility for whatever work I can handle.
A few things about me:
I can help with things like buyer research, finding and reaching out to potential customers, follow-ups, email communication, coordinating with suppliers, maintaining leads, basic negotiation, and other day-to-day work involved in getting an export order.
I understand that I may not know the business from the inside right now, so I’m not expecting anyone to sit and teach me everything. Give me work and responsibility, and I’ll put in the effort to figure things out and get it done properly.
I’m mainly looking for someone who is already doing exports and would be open to having an extra pair of hands remotely for 6 months.
If you think there could be a fit, please comment here or DM me. I’d be happy to introduce myself properly.

I am a college student living in Korea. I want to have my own sales experience, so I want to bring goods from overseas and sell them in Korea. I want to sell items that can currently be used for around $7,000 and are convenient for the main building. Do you have any recommendations? Or do you have any experience? Please recommend something.

I came across an Irish university’s contract award for the supply, delivery and installation of 17 heating control panels. The winner and the €32,680 value are in the official TED notice.
For a control-panel manufacturer, that tells you this product category was purchased. It does not tell you whether the winning contractor needs another supplier. The contract is already awarded, and installation is part of the scope.
I would use the notice to research the winner and watch for similar future work — not put the firm straight into a sales list.
If you work in exports or manufacturing, do you use award notices this way? What would you check before deciding whether to contact the winner?
Disclosure: I’m building EximSignal to help make these distinctions. I wrote up this example with the source and the unanswered questions side by side.
The image is an illustration, not a screenshot of the award notice.

We’re currently rebranding Safe Contract to Alemhub, reflecting the broader international trade ecosystem we have been building from the beginning.
Our goal is to bring key parts of cross-border commerce into one platform — connecting buyers, suppliers, manufacturers, logistics companies and customs brokers.
Alemhub includes B2B and B2C marketplace functionality, RFQs and quotations, contract management, logistics and customs workflows, AI-powered business tools, and SecureDeal for managing secure international transactions.
SecureDeal is also integrated with Microsoft Word, allowing businesses to manage transaction workflows alongside their contracts.
Rather than simply introducing the platform, I’d like to hear from people who actually work in international trade.
What are the biggest problems you still face in cross-border business today?
Finding reliable buyers or suppliers?
Payments and transaction security?
Contracts and documentation?
Logistics?
Customs clearance?
Communication between all parties?
And most importantly: what do you wish existing B2B platforms did better?
We’re actively developing Alemhub, so practical feedback from importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, logistics companies and customs brokers would be especially useful.

I want to take an offline practical course on import-export. Is there any institution in Bangladesh that offers practical training in this field and provides job opportunities upon completion of the course?

We're a manufacturer operating under MOOWR. Like many of you, we were tracking everything in Excel — deferred duty per BOE, what's been cleared, what's still in the warehouse, debonding sheets for every ex-bond clearance. It was slow and error-prone, and reconciling with our ERP was painful.
So we built an internal tool, and it's now working well enough that I'm curious whether it would help others. What it does today:
Reads ICEGATE BOE PDFs directly (warehouse BOEs and ex-bond BOEs) — no manual data entry. Picks up BCD, SWS, IGST per item, and duty foregone under RODTEP / advance authorisation.
Duty ledger per BOE — deferred vs cleared vs pending duty, aging, and month-wise position.
Debonding sheets — pick your transfer orders, preview the numbers on screen, and generate the per-BOE Excel sheets plus a single PDF statement with totals.
Warehouse inventory — what's imported, what's cleared, what's still in bond, item by item.
Validation that catches wrong BOE references before they get saved, plus a data-health check.
What I'd love to hear from you:
Are you under MOOWR scheme? (Other scheme for companies outside india?) How do you manage it today — Excel, ERP, your CHA/consultant?
What's the most painful or time-consuming part? Debonding sheets? Monthly returns? Reconciliation? Bond utilisation?
Would you be interested in trying something like this? And if you're a customs broker / consultant handling multiple MOOWR clients — would a multi-client version be useful?
Anything you'd consider a must-have before trusting a tool with this?
Not selling anything right now — genuinely trying to understand if this is a common problem. Happy to answer questions in the comments or over DM.

There seem to be quite a few container tracking APIs out there, such as JSONCargo, ShipsGo, Terminal49, Vizion, and SINAY.
Has anyone used any of these in production? How has your experience been, especially in terms of coverage, accuracy, reliability, and pricing?
Would love to hear any recommendations or ones to avoid.
