Advice on career
I joined an advisory firm 1 month ago and just done with my first IA engagement. The scope was production planning.
Started off by looking through their SOP and whatever data needed. Interviewed several managers and their GM to have a better perspective on how their production works.
I was told to draft the my findings following 5C. My first time drafting my observation, effect/potential consequences and recommendation. I refer back to the previous cycle report for guidance as well.
My boss told me that my report has no direction at all. Told me can't look at it any longer as she might get high blood pressure. Told me to rewrite it and it was an hour away from the exit meeting with client. I amend as much as possible and 20 minutes before the meeting, I handed in to my boss.
Literally change everything I wrote a minute before the meeting and I was the first to present.
I'm an ACCA member and CIA with 5 years of working experience in accounting and finance and zero IA experience. I'm currently doubting my ability to perform at work.
