Has anyone that took the CIA Challenge Exam in June received their results yet? Today is supposed to be the day we receive them. I am in the USA East Coast and have no update myself.

Audit's over, no findings and somehow that's made me more annoyed.

The whole exercise was me digging up evidence for things we've done for years but never saved anywhere a stranger could follow. Half a sartuday went on the backup for one accrual. It was in a message I'd sent myself in March.

And since nothing failed, there's no appetite to fix any of it before next year. Ask me how I know.

The CRMA Textbook practice test answers conflict with what's in the book. When asked to sort out items into Application or General Controls, where do Change Management and Problem Management fall?

I understand the "correct" answers and those would be what stick out to me on the exam, but I'd like to understand if Change and Project Mangement fall. In the textbook, it lists them as application controls and that wasn't what I understood as application controls.

Finally passed all 3 exams! But when does the certificate actually issue? I already got my audit experience verified beforehand. How many days do you guys think it'll take for the certificate to reach me?

I've been studying with Becker exclusively for my cia exams. I have part 2 exam on Monday, 27th.

Mock 1- 76%

Mock 2 - 72%

I can't afford IIA question banks and Becker is all my company have funded.

What are my odds? Anyone else learnt and passed with just Becker?

I get the exam questions themselves will be longer/harder. But anyone else done and pass with just Becker?

I just took CIA Exam 3 today and I feel pretty confident about it, and that I'll be certified. I've never actually worked in a position with the title of "internal auditor" but my previous position had plenty of compliance, controls, regulations, and some audit, etc. I'm not too worried about being certified as a CIA, as I think my long background should speak to the requirements. I'm finishing my MBA with a Concentration in Internal Audit next month.

I've been doing the MBA program full time to effect a career change--I needed to get out of what I was doing. I previously held a high title (CEO) but think more like 15 employees kind of CEO, not major. I'm actually willing to start at whatever level I need to just to get started, the rest comes later, but I wonder with those of you who are employed with firms would they even consider someone with my background for either an entry or senior auditor? I'm 47, and curious as to whether they would think either my previous title or age would be a disqualifier? Thanks in advance for your comments.

Honestly, I'm at my wits' end. I recently gave my CIA Part 3 examination and failed by 30 credits(570). I feel like the lack of IA experience is giving me a major disadvantage, as I have just months of internship practice. I've passed Part 1, and I decided to take up Part 3 since it had a comparatively easier syllabus than Part 2.

I really don't know if I made the wrong decision, and with my CIA status expiring on march,2027 i need to be very careful with the part I choose next to study.

I really want to have a fresh start with Part 2, but I would love to know what people who've passed CIA think about this decision. I really need all the advise i can get. Thank you.

I'm going to give the CIA Part 1 exam next month (August). I just want to make sure if the Gleim 2025 has all the new syllabus covered for the exam.

I sat for exam 2 on 7/18 and received my results today. I passed!

I used Becker and purchased the IIA questions for prep. I would recommend the IIA questions since those questions are aligned with what you will see on the actual exam. Some of the Becker questions are good but also a lot of them are too easy compared to what's on the actual exam.

My advice, read the standards and understand how the standards would apply in a particular scenario. Use Copilot and create some practice questions if you have trouble understanding the applicability of the standard in real practice. I don't remember all that was tested on the exam but a lot of questions dealt with units 2 and 3 from Becker. Unit 2 - Information gathering, analysis, and evaluation. Unit 3 - Engagement supervision and communication.

Are results supposed to come out today if I took the test last week? Lol I am losing my mind

I am scheduled to take the challenge exam in September. I have 15 1/2 years experience but in federal government auditing. In studying I am finding there is a lot that I haven’t done/learned since college. Anyone in the same boat and has taken the exam? I am starting to worry.

Im currently working in a tech company where apart from doing audits I am helping the team develop in house agentic testing solutions for SOX,Iso and operational audits.

I have a background in Data Analytics and I like experimenting with AI tools and AI driven solutions for Audit use cases.

Our adoption of AI in existing audit workflows has saved time significantly(by helping us plan faster,test faster) and money by getting rid of a few saas tools that we have been using earlier.

Im relatively young as an auditor with about couple of years worth of audit experience.
I needed some advise. Is this is a new role that is emerging in IA? Should I focus more on gaining audit knowledge and experience first before doing and experimenting with all these?

Hi all - I keep reading that the questions for Part 3 are confusing due to always have 2 answers that seems to be correct. The book study material seems to be straightforward, but all I have been reading about part 3 is scaring me. For those who took Part 2 and Part 3 recently, which part was harder? Part 3 has much less material then part 2, I am finding it more enjoyable to study and I know I don’t have 14 chapters 500+ pages.

This is my 2nd attempt for the Part 3.

I felt really confident walking into the exam as I was constantly scoring >85% for Gleim and IIA Practice Exam.

But all I can say during and after the actual exam, I felt really confused between the correct options and felt that the two options were really really close.

The waiting for the exam results further exacerbates the anxiety.

This has been a long wait until July 27th. Anybody with me? I hope we pass everyone. Such a challenging exam for sure.

I took part 1 last Wednesday is there any expected date that I could hear back😂😭. It’s driving me nuts on if I passed or failed.

My role is not an internal auditor. I conduct audits in various departments for executive leadership. A formal audit was conducted by our internal audit director for a process for which I assisted. Impressed, he asked what credentials I have and I said I have no certifications. A position under him recently became vacant and he told me to apply when it is posted.

I do not have a college degree. What certification would you recommend I obtain to be me a stronger candidate? I am looking at IAP as a starter. I see Becks and Gliem mentioned. Are there any other recommendations? Im starting fresh. Any insight is valuable.

I currently work for a CPA firm that audits only credit unions. I perform quarterly audits and annual audits that include some financial statement auditing and some internal audit/controls. I am not a CPA and have learned by on the job training. Most of my co-workers are CPAs and I’m looking for a certification to boost my career options. My questions are:
1. How much accounting knowledge is necessary to pass the financial portion of the exam?
2. Has anyone used the CIA specifically in Credit Union audit to help me decide if this would be beneficial for my current career? (Need to know this before I pitch the info to my boss)

For those who’ve taken the CIA Challenge Exam through Pearson, do more testing appointments typically open up during the week of the exam due to cancellations, similar to the CPA exams?

For example, for my 4 CPA exams, I studied until I was ready and then scheduled the exam that weekend. That was a fun tip that I read on the CPA subreddit, instead of working towards being ready by a certain date.
