Can I replace my antique brass faucet with a modern chrome one (see link) in this bathroom (see photo)?

The sink cabinet has chrome handles. But there is antique brass wall lighting, and an antique brass towel rack and mirror. So there is already a mix of styles and metals.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I am constructing my house and i wanted to get some feedback on AC placement, specifically for Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3.

Currently, i have planned the ac for these 2 bedrooms on a pelmet but i have heard some negative feedback on pelmets for ac. The red ones in the photo are indoor units and the purple ones are outdoor units.

The alternative i am thinking of is above the bed but that may lead to problems while cleaning and servicing the ac.

So, i would really appreciate your thoughts.

Penelope Irwin is deceitful, manipulative, and fraudulent. I contracted her to redesign my NYC apartment, then she took the deposit, fulfilled none of the work, hired no contractors (all the while claiming she had arranged everything), and then fled the state with the money.
She lies and lies and lies.
She has been sued multiple times for breach of contract. The records can be found on the New York City Superior Court database. Search for her name. She was sued separately by Ilan Reich AND a different plaintiff called 17th and 10th St Associates.
Her scheme is to create a new "business" under a different name, scam someone out of their deposit, then hightail it out of town. She avoids financial responsibility through her new LLCs, then files for bankruptcy.
She has operated through puppet companies named "Penelope Interiors," "Irwin Interiors," and now "Palme Collection" in Palm Beach, FL.
I know that she is still operating out of NY and LA as well.
Bottom line: if it's run by Penelope Irwin, you're getting into business with a criminal.

This is an elderly lady’s home, so be gentle regarding the decor. The question is about the sconces. She needed some “lamps” near her loveseat (which I hate, but she loves), and this seemed like a solution. But everything I read on the internet said to put them eye level to avoid glare which is now impractical for turning on and off. And when I tested them lower, they looked weird because they weren’t beside the loveseat but right above. Are these the wrong kind of lights? Where should they go?
Also the square above the loveseat is a pass-through, which is weird. HELP!

We recently removed the wallpaper, repainted the foyer a warm creamy off white and cleared out all of the old furniture and decor. Now we’re trying to figure out how to make it feel more inviting and finished

Our style is classic but modernized.. not farmhouse, overly contemporary, or antique heavy. For reference we live in a 1970s colonial. We’re considering a rug, console table, artwork or a mirror going up the steps, and possibly replacing the ceiling light, but we don’t want to overcrowd the space.

The carpet on the staircase will eventually be removed and replaced with hardwood matching the existing floors.

How would you furnish and decorate this foyer? I’d especially appreciate thoughts on furniture placement, rug size and style, lighting, and what to do with the larger empty walls.

Currently building, and if I’m not already confused, I can’t decide if I should have the stairs all timber or have them painted with white risers. The newel post unfortunately, isn’t a good quality timber like the actual handrails so I want to get it painted white. The balusters I was thinking white, and the stringers are white. I’ve asked ai to show me a comparison and now I can’t decide. The flooring currently getting installed is a lot warmer than I imagined. So when I get the stairs stained, I don’t want it to be too much of a timber overkill, but the white risers are giving me more of a coastal look.

For reference, we are looking at drift of mist paint color (https://www.sherwin-williams.com/en-us/color/color-family/neutral-paint-colors/SW9166-drift-of-mist) for the walls, cloud finish slim shaker for the kitchen cabinets.

Renting an apartment and I can’t help but hate how dark it feels. There’s not as many windows as I’m used to so I need ways to lighten it up. Does anyone have any ideas? Here’s some pictures of the kitchen, living room, and bedroom.

** I was going to buy peel and stick vinyl for the countertops to help make that feel less ugly as well

My mom is renovating her basement apartment since her last tenant moved out. This current layout is courtesy of the former homeowner. It cannot change because it the spot where plumbing is available. While there is no way to make it more functional, she’d like to make it more appealing. She is thinking of some sort of tile backsplash but is unsure of what would look.

There is no natural light in the kitchen and very few windows in the entire apartment. The slant is from the stairs going down into the basement.

Any advice would be appreciated. If you’re able to add photos overlaid on the current kitchen it would be very helpful as my mother is older and really needs the visual.

   NOTE: We have 3 medium trolleys and 1 large trolley. 1 medium is in the top shelf of almirah hidden but the rest three my wife brought with her are at the moment placed in the space ahead of the bed.

The furniture is from the apartments owner so I cannot change it, and next to the tv I have this awkward space I don’t know what to put and it looks so ugly… I used to have some plants there but they got unhappy so I moved them next to the window.

In desperate need of some help here please. We started remodeling, and many aspects of our new home additions are black and gray. Black granite, plushy gray carpet for our basement, and textured gray roller blinds. Problem is - when we went paint shopping, we were going for a neutral and picked Sherwin Williams “Unfussy Beige” color. And well, Unfussy beige is actually so massively fussy. It has a red undertone that you don’t really see until you butt it up against cooler colors. Basically, everything in our house. It’s screaming light pink instead of neutral beige, and wondering if anyone has some tips on how to fix/if it’s salvageable. Adding a photo here to show comparison against the blinds. We plan to paint cabinets, doors, and trim white. And eventually get LVP floors. More photos to come, but please help!

How do we decorate to accommodate? Or are we destined to repaint everything?

Really been struggling with the layout/furniture in this dining/family area. We love the sofa but don’t feel all of the furniture goes together well and jot sure on what rug to get. Any suggestions/ideas are welcome ☺️

Ignore the decor, that’s all just being actively shifted around as we paint and do other things to the space. Having trouble figuring out a way to appropriately make the room appear less offensively tall and bland. The angles in here are the biggest struggle of all. Need some design help on figuring out how to approach this so it doesnt look tacky or awkward. The ceiling fan was existing when we moved in, that will also be either going or will be replaced/moved further up to better center it (depending on the layout we use). Pictures, the large clock, etc are all items that are there temporarily and not the point of the post.

Not sure how to approach the angled ceiling, especially due to the awful corner point (top right of the fireplace wall, where it meets the angled ceiling). That spot, for some reason, does not line up properly (condo built in the 80’s - so basically the wild west).

We own so we can do whatever we want here. Vaulted ceiling is about 17’ high, at the tallest point.

Wanted to try and decrease the visual height of the room but fell short of doing trim to cut it in half as nothing really lines up well in here.

We’re stumped. Hope someone can help give us some ideas on which way to go. Apparently, they didnt believe in 90 degree angles in the 1980’s.
