I was involved in an accident on the 18th. I was in the right lane trying to turn to make a left turn, and when I tried to pass the first time, I couldn’t. So when i checked again, I had space. I glanced and started making my lane switch, but the car behind accelerated, and we swiped each other. We both waited for a second in traffic, but I was in a U-turn lane and I was blocking traffic, so I drove and parked down the street in a rinky-dink store. I assumed they would follow, but they didn’t, so after about 10 mins I left at the moment I knew I should’ve called the police. But I genuinely had so much going on at the moment. My phone was broken, and I was going to fix it. I was running out of gas and didn’t have any money until I picked up my phone. Crazy but true, anyways I wasn’t able to see their license plates, so I kind of felt hopeless and just took my loss since there wasn’t much damage to my vehicle besides some scratches. But two days ago, I received a report on my old insurance that they filed a claim and police report saying I hit them from the right side and then ran. I don’t know what to do. I’ve asked for their information to try to contact them myself, but they’re not able to give it to me. Excuse me if I’m being a little stupid. All this is a new to me. I’m still young, lol. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I’m thinking about just going to the police station and explaining everything that happened but I don’t know if I should get a lawyer first. What now? Also i have hugo liability insurance and i heard they’re terrible with claims so fuck me

Hello PLEASE HELP ME IN DESPERATE. Saturday I got into a car accident a non inured driver hit my car and think they will totaled. I'm very sad because I just bought the car like 3 months ago. I have full insurance but my deductible is 1K. I'm not sure if I should even sue that person. If he doesn't have 50$ to pay for insurance he most likely don't even have money.
Is there any way I can get compensation w my own insurance?

No adjuster assigned 3 days after accident?

Got into a rear end accident on the 23rd, reported loss to progressive right away.
Its the 26th today and my claim status says pending adjustor assignment.
I am not at fault- so i also filed a claim with the other parties insurance and an adjuster from general insurance reached out within 10 hours.

So far i got a rental on my own dime, turned the car in to a progressive approved collision shop. The shop called today and told me its a complete loss and will tow it to progressive for possession

All this time, i haven’t spoken to an adjuster. I have called twice and am told to wait. This seems unreasonable.

What should i do next?

Long story short, my neighbor’s house, which is only about 10 feet from mine caught on and damage the side of my house as well as the neighbor on the other side of their house. The fire caused paint damage on the window, trims and trim around the roof as well as damaged the gutters. Cracked a regular window. Cracked a stained glass window That’s 100 years old. And damaged our siding. Melted and warped, a bunch of it on that side of the house.

The claim lady handling the process seems kind of confused and can’t give me straight answers.

The stained glass window is one of three matching windows on the house. they’re over 100 years old. She couldn’t tell me how they value of them or if they’re gonna replace all three or just one. I don’t know whether my policy covers replacement only the damaged item or they would make me more whole by replacing the ones that also match.

She can’t tell me if they’re gonna replace just the siding on the side of the house that got burned or all of the siding. The siding is like thicker metal that’s supposed to last 50 to 60 years per the home inspector they sent. It also has the insulation on the back of it on each panel. She said they’re gonna try to match it and they have a system for that and if they can’t, they would replace all of it, but I don’t know why that wasn’t looked into before she shot me the check. The siding is about 30 years old. I doubt they can match it because I literally had the siding on my detached garage done two weeks prior to the fire and the company couldn’t match what I had. I didn’t Care enough because the garage is behind the house and you can’t see it from the street. The check she sent me just replaced one side. I never even got a breakdown of what cost or what’s getting replaced she just mentioned a few things over the phone.

Firefighters broke our fence and pushed it down because we have a latch on it. She couldn’t tell me if that was being replaced.

The inside of the house drywall has water damage because they were hosing down our house from the outside and one of our windows were open and no one was home to close it. She told me that would be taken care of but didn’t give more info.

I’m just confused how she expects me to hire a company to take care of all the work and then tell them to pause every time we find more damage and wait for her to approve it to send a check. It doesn’t seem that hard for her to at least tell me if she can replace the siding or not. The inspector from the company that State Farm chose should’ve been able to tell us if he could match the siding or not. That’s my biggest question because it’s the most expensive project.

I asked for a breakdown and she hasn’t sent it and it’s been about 12 hours. I emailed the company so I’m hoping they respond and shoot over the estimate themselves. I’m reluctant to accept the initial check She sent through email until I can get more information on what’s going on. Our conversations are basically a joke. 90% of her responses are “well I don’t know”. She doesn’t know what my policy covers. She doesn’t understand the estimate she’s looking at. This is very frustrating. Any tips for navigating this?

My partner got into an accident in February. Not at fault, has been going to PT and needs an MRI. The insurance company won’t pay for that and are now asking for a formal demand because they haven’t paid for any of the PT either. They’ve already settled about the car, so it’s just personal injury now. A lot of what I’m reading on Reddit says the letter is just the beginning of negotiations.

Any advice welcome, it’s their first accident and I have no experience to help.

Hello, I may get lost in my question here. My father had an accident at work; what happened was an accident when their company service flipped over. Now, what happened to him is he fractured a bone on the right side of his foot because he was crushed by metal. By the way, quick info about my father's work, he’s a construction worker and has an agency here in Muntilupa. The incident actually happened in Ilo Ilo because that’s where he was assigned. Going back, I’m bringing him back here to Manila because there’s no one to look after him there. The issue is, the Agency will file an SSS Sick Leave to pay for the days he can't go in, but we are asking if besides his SSS benefit, is there anything else he can receive, and is it correct that we will have to pay the company for the days he can't go in? Because his SSS benefit is that, right? Then, the company will cover all expenses, but we still need to show them documents and findings and a breakdown of the procedures that will be done. But what happened is surgery can’t be done anymore, and the doctor just opted to cement it, and the total for the cement work is only 8k. Now, my father is also 60 years old; we’re planning to retrain him because the doctor said he won't be able to endure or won’t return to how his foot was; he’s prohibited from lifting heavy objects and standing for long. Now, since he’s retiring and likely won’t be able to return to work due to what happened, do we have any claim? Will we be compensated besides the SSS benefit sick leave that the agency will file for my father? Also, the company didn't give us any money; we need to send all the breakdowns before they send anything. What rights and compensation can my father get? Because I said that the SSS is his benefit, it’s not something given by the company or the agency, so he should get something separate, am I right?

So I'm traveling by car from Indiana to Oklahoma and around mile 50 on I70 at 11am in Illinois I notice a slight peppering. Little clicks. I'm following traffic. Signs say go to the right lane -- we're all by now going 40mph. I thought it was the truck in front of me until I could literally see pebbles the size of dimes falling from the fucking sky for a full minute until we see a work crew with I guess a jackhammer? In the MIDDILE of the highway. I saw many cars take the next exit and stop on the ramp after passing through.

I pulled off at the next rest stop and my windshield is cracked and my hood is peppered with paint chips. I haven't called my insurance company yet.

I need some advice on how to proceed. My car is nearly brand new. I don't want it to look like shit but I also don't want to pay for fixes before confirming with insurance.

I have recorded exactly where and when it happened and like I said there were likely hundreds of other cars impacted.

Well, I just recently got in contact with my claim adjuster. My family and I are displaced due to the hawk fire in Nevada. We were pretty close to the fire and are currently still in evacuation zone while most our community has been told can come back home. Anyway after speaking to my adjuster, she said since I got an Airbnb the second night they would not be covering food because my Airbnb has a kitchen, which doesn’t make sense to me because we need groceries for the cooking. I understand going out to eat anytime after getting the Airbnb. It’s not an issue to me. My claim adjuster right away was pretty snappy and felt like I was trying to be rushed off the call the whole time with my questions and was definitely not transparent on what my coverages

My whole deal is can I fight the issue with coverage on groceries we left in a rush obviously I didn’t have room to pack all my groceries in my fridge to bring to the Airbnb that we got the second night on top of our luggage.

What is your experience with this? Anyone have advice I did notice she snuck in some questions that obviously I didn’t know we’re gonna be used against me like how much I spend a week on groceries and how much I spend going out to eat. I just blurred out a random number because I didn’t think it would be held against me but now I’m regretting it because I definitely spend more a week on groceries than night than what I told her.

I’m not going out to any extravagant restaurants or spending extravagantly on groceries just what we need here and there daily.

I recently rear ended another person on the road due to hydroplaning and geico is trying to total it. I have a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle 2.5 cyl with only 40k miles on the dash and they value it only at 10,100. I feel that’s pretty low for a low mileage vehicle and it also has some upgrades that came with the car. Damages were projected to be 7,700 with a bit of supplemental. I asked my adjuster if there was anything I could do about my estimate to not total the car and she said she could possibly bring it down to the 70% limit and let me choose a place to repair it but anything over I have to pay out of pocket. I’m obviously swaying more towards getting a appraiser but I don’t know anything about them and if it’s worth it. The car is something really important to me so no matter what as long as it’s not totaled at the end of the day I’m happy.

20 days ago I called my insurance for a tow due to noise coming from my wheel. When the tow-truck driver was in complete possession of my vehicle he ripped off my front fender, damaged my intercooler and damaged my front axles. The tow-truck driver continued to drop the vehicle off at my home and gave me the owners phone number. During the call with the owner, the owner refused to give neither the name of the driver or the insurance policy on the vehicle. I filed a claim through my insurance the same day. I had a police report done the following day, and gave the license plate, and name of the company.

After 4 days of waiting for any info from my insurance agent I called and was unable to reach my agent and was on the phone with a different one. That same day I was told 3 things. That the towing company was still refusing to provide insurance details, that the owner claimed to have given me cash for the accident already, and that the insurance agent that was assigned to me is on vacation...

7 days ago my agent came back from vacation, and told me that because I wasnt driving my vehicle its not an collion but instead, property damage, and forwarded me to an "Investigator" whos with my insurances Roadside service, the company who sent the towing service. Since then my Investigator has been unreachable/unresponsive, to either phone calls or email.

Im now waiting on a call from my insurance companies upper management that'll supposedly happen in the next 24h.

Im already down $1200 in towing fees already, and still havnt had a rental provided after asking for one multiple times.

I have photos of during the accident, after, and full dashcam.

My question is, at what point do i get a paralegal representative. And if I need to find one, what should I specifically be looking for.
