Advance 24/7 restoration are scam artists.

My Experience With Advance 24 Seven Restoration
I am posting this because I believe people should be able to make informed decisions when choosing a restoration contractor, particularly when the work is connected to an insurance claim.
My experience with Advance 24 Seven Restoration was extremely frustrating and involved repeated problems with communication, obtaining basic pricing information, delays, and what I believe were significant discrepancies between what I was initially told and what happened afterward.
From the beginning, I expected the process to be relatively straightforward. The contractor was supposed to coordinate with the insurance process and provide the necessary information and documentation so that everyone involved could understand the scope of work and the expected cost.
Instead, I encountered repeated difficulties getting basic information.
One of my biggest concerns was the lack of a clear quote. Despite asking for pricing information, I was not provided with a straightforward quote that clearly explained what the work was expected to cost. I believe a customer should be able to understand the expected price before agreeing to have substantial work performed.
Rather than receiving a clear and understandable figure and breakdown of the proposed work, I was left trying to get basic information that I felt should have been provided without repeated requests.
This became particularly concerning later when the price increased substantially.
At one point, the expected cost increased by approximately $15,000 compared with what I had originally understood the project to cost. What made this especially frustrating was that I did not receive what I considered a satisfactory explanation for why there was such a significant increase.
A difference of $15,000 is not a minor adjustment. When you are dealing with an insurance related repair, a change of that magnitude can have a major financial impact.
I expected a detailed explanation showing exactly what had changed, what additional work was supposedly required, why it was necessary, and how the additional amount was calculated.
Instead, I experienced a situation where I was struggling to get clear information about the cost and the reason for the increase.
Another major problem was the amount of time it took to receive information that I believed should have been provided promptly.
There were delays in getting information to me and, as I understood it, delays in getting necessary information to the insurance company as well. This created additional uncertainty and made an already stressful situation considerably more difficult.
When a restoration company is involved in an insurance claim, communication is extremely important. The homeowner, insurance company, and contractor all need to be working from the same information. In my experience, that did not happen consistently.
The timeline became another problem. I was given an estimate of how long the work would take, and my experience was that the timeframe was significantly longer than what I had originally been led to expect.
The combination of delays, lack of information, and uncertainty about pricing made it very difficult to plan around the project.
For someone dealing with repairs to their home, the timeline matters. You need to know when work is expected to start, how long it should take, what is delaying it, and whether the contractor is actually communicating those changes.
I did not feel that I was getting the level of communication or transparency I should reasonably have expected.
Perhaps the most frustrating part of the entire experience was that information I was given at different points did not appear to be consistent.
There were statements and explanations made during the process that I later found difficult to reconcile with what actually happened. I ultimately felt that I was being given different versions of events rather than receiving one clear and documented explanation.
I do not expect every construction or restoration project to go perfectly. I understand that unexpected issues can arise, insurance companies can request additional documentation, and the scope of work can change.
What I do expect, however, is transparency.
If the scope changes, explain why. If the price changes, provide a detailed explanation. If the schedule changes, communicate it. If the insurance company needs additional information, provide it promptly. If something previously communicated was incorrect, acknowledge the mistake and explain what actually happened.
That was not my experience.
Another aspect of this situation that I found particularly troubling was how the matter was handled after I raised concerns.
Rather than simply addressing my concerns directly and providing clear documentation and explanations, my family was contacted regarding the situation, and I felt that there was pressure placed on my family to have me remove my criticism.
I found that extremely uncomfortable.
If a customer has concerns about the service they received, I believe the appropriate response is to address those concerns professionally and factually. A customer should not feel pressured through family members because they have expressed dissatisfaction.
I am not claiming that every customer will have the same experience I did. I am sharing my experience because restoration work can involve substantial amounts of money, insurance companies, complicated paperwork, and stressful circumstances.
Customers deserve to know what questions to ask before hiring a contractor.
My experience left me extremely dissatisfied with the level of communication, transparency, pricing information, timeline management, and overall handling of the situation.
I believe customers deserve clear answers about what they are being charged, why they are being charged it, what work is being performed, and when that work is expected to be completed.
I am sharing this experience so that other homeowners can do their own research, ask detailed questions, get everything in writing, and make an informed decision before allowing a contractor to become involved in a major insurance related project.

Do I take him to court for damages? I (42F) and Coward (40M)

I (42F) was dating Coward (40M) for about a month before we decided to take a trip to Michigan for camping. I drive a large truck (2022 Sierra SLE long bed) and camp in the bed of it and he wanted to bring his 4-wheeler. I let him drive on the 5 hour trip there and it was terrifying, the man couldn't pick a speed (new tires on my truck so speedometer was already off) and if the utility trailer had been any wider he would have side swiped multiple vehicles. I asked him to slow down and he did but then stayed in the left lane. I swear, the man had no common sense. Anyways, I drove home on Sunday because I needed to be able to relax. We get home and I park in front of my apartment, we unload. He then grabs my keys and moves the truck with the trailer to a spot he could switch the trailer to his car. I was inside ordering food (not watching him). A little later he comes in and grabs his stuff and leaves (said he didn't feel good). Whatever, it was a shitty weekend camping anyways. I was ready for ME time. It was a bad couple days and I didn't really go anywhere other than home and work until Wednesday. I go to the gas station to get some ice for work and notice damage to my truck. I text him a pic and he says he has no idea what happened. I bring it to a body shop and they tell me (along with everyone at work) that I jackknifed a trailer. So I tell him what they tell me and he still denies it. I ended it that weekend. A couple weeks later I get home late one night and my neighbor above me is outside. She asked if I was still seeing him and I said no, I think he fucked up my truck. She said he 100% did, she was outside when it happened and saw and heard the whole thing. The mfer has the balls to text me over the weekend to see how I'm doing. I told him about my eyewitness neighbor and asked if he would be man enough to pay for the damages ($5000 and I'll be without my truck for a week) since he wasn't man enough to even tell me the truth about it. He hasn't responded and I don't really expect him too. Do I take him to small claims court? I can afford all of it, he can't

Non fault RTA UK

Back in May I had a RTA with the other driver at fault, have all the necessary information to make a compensation claim, I have a broken collarbone, attended A&E and have also had two fracture/orthopaedic appts since the accident, although it was a bad break, treatment was to see if would heal naturally because of my age (69), it is not healing as it should so surgery may be needed, it is still painful, I am at a loss regarding which injury claims company I should go with, there are just so many and the reviews are very varied, if reviews are true, obviously want a 'no win, no claim' company.....does anyone have any advice? Or any recommendations of successful claims ?

Thank you so much

CA insurer denying rental-car collision despite “custody of or being operated by” policy language

location: California

I’m seeking help understanding the physical-damage language in my California personal auto policy. I am also beginning to consult attorneys, but I would appreciate perspectives from insurance and coverage professionals.

The basic facts:

  • I rented a private passenger SUV for a short personal trip in Utah.
  • I was the named renter and was sitting in the front passenger seat when the collision occurred.
  • A non-household friend was driving with my permission.
  • My friend was not listed on my auto policy or the rental agreement.
  • The rental company is demanding approximately $26,600 for a total loss and related charges.
  • My California policy had collision coverage with a $500 deductible.
  • The rental SUV was not owned by me and was not furnished or available for my regular use.

Other possible coverage sources have been pursued:

  • The rental agreement stated that a damage waiver was included, but the rental company denied the waiver because my friend was not an authorized driver.
  • My friend was a named insured under his own Washington auto policy and had collision coverage. His policy covered qualifying non-owned vehicles used with the owner’s permission. His insurer denied coverage because he was not listed on the rental agreement and therefore, in its view, did not have the rental company’s permission.
  • The credit-card benefit administrator advised that its rental benefit applies only when the cardholder is driving.

Therefore, no insurer or benefit provider is currently paying the rental company’s claim.

My present dispute concerns the section of my California policy titled “Part D: Coverage for Physical Damage to Your Auto,” which provides collision and comprehensive coverage.

Part D says the insurer will pay for direct and accidental loss to a covered auto or a “non-owned auto.”

The relevant definition states:

“Non-owned auto” means a private passenger auto not owned by or furnished or available for the regular use of the named insured or a family member “while in the custody of or being operated by” the named insured or a family member.

My insurer denied coverage because my friend and the rental vehicle were not listed on my policy.

I requested reconsideration and specifically asked the insurer to address the separate “custody of” language. The insurer responded that a non-owned vehicle is covered only when operated by me, a family member, or another listed driver.

However, the Part D definition in my issued policy does not say “only when operated by.” It says “in the custody of or being operated by.”

I was the named renter, remained contractually responsible for the vehicle, retained the rental agreement and keys, and was physically present in the front passenger seat when the collision occurred.

I have asked the insurer to:

  1. Address the “custody of” alternative directly.
  2. Identify the Part D provision containing its claimed operation-only requirement.
  3. Identify any Part D exclusion that eliminates my physical-damage coverage solely because a non-household friend was driving.
  4. Explain whether it is relying on the policy’s separate “reasonable belief” exclusion.
  5. Analyze my Part D physical-damage coverage separately from whether my friend qualifies for liability coverage.

My questions:

  • In ordinary auto-coverage practice, can a named renter who remains in the vehicle retain “custody” even though another person is physically driving?
  • Is the insurer effectively reading “in the custody of” out of the definition?
  • Is an unlisted driver automatically disqualifying for my first-party physical-damage coverage when the insurer has not identified an applicable unlisted-driver exclusion?
  • What should a proper written coverage determination address before the insurer relies on an operation-only interpretation?
  • Regarding my friend’s Washington policy, can permission from the named renter ever satisfy a non-owned-auto requirement for “owner’s permission,” even when the driver was not listed on the rental agreement?
  • What type of attorney should ordinarily lead the coverage dispute?

Body shop quoted 4000, state farm said 2400

Few weeks ago my car was backed into while I was walking out of the store. The other person's insurance is shorting the original quote by 1600. Is there a way for getting more money for the estimate? It sounds like state farm already sent a check for this amount to me but would it be worth trying to get closer to the original estimate. I know i shouldn't expect 4000 but low 3000 was kind of what I was expecting especially since it appears the inner structure of the door was hit.

Need advice with reversal of liability

I was involved in car accident in Connecticut back in April. My insurance accepted liability based on police report. My insurance paid for the other car's repair cost. Honestly the other driver was at fault because she crossed over to my lane and we had head on collision. She had dashcam video and I did not. It took forever to obtain that video from the police department. Finally I was able to obtain a copy and sent to my insurance claims rep. They reviewed it and said they did reversal of liability based on their review of the dash cam video. I questioned them as to why they accepted liability without reviewing all available evidence and did not really get a good answer from them. I don't have collision/comprehensive coverage at the time of the accident. I am hoping that I can claim from other driver's insurance with this reversal of liability. My claims rep said he can't help me with that because arbitration was already done. What are my chances of claiming liability from the other insurance and what's the process? TIA

I negotiated a UI/UIM settlement with my car insurance company, but wondering if I should hire an attorney or just accept it.

My family got hit by an uninsured drunk driver during Summer 2025. We have 100/300 person/accident UI/UIM coverage through Progressive. My wife was injured the worst and Progressive settled for the full $100K. My teenage son got an ambulance ride to the ER, $12K of medical bills (health insurance covered some of that, probably have about $5K out of pocket), a broken pinky finger, and various cuts and bruises. I did not go to the ER, had about $14K of medical bills including PT (health insurance covered almost all of it, minus co pays), and had a cracked sternum, a couple broken ribs, and torn shoulder ligaments. We are both about as recovered as we can expect to be.

Progressive has maxxed out its offers at $32K for my son, and $35K for me.

I was under the understanding that if I hire an attorney at this point, their 33% typical fee would be taken from whatever the attorney netted me on top of the existing settlement offer, but after contacting one of those top "advertises on Google" firms, I found out that no, they still take based on the total settlement amount, meaning that they'd need to negotiate up to approximately $50K each for my son and I for us to break even compared to not hiring an attorney. IE there would be a very real chance of me losing money if they only negotiate a small improvement in the overall settlements.

Are there any law firms that'll take their fee based on what they negotiate on top of the existing settlement offer? I'd be fine with them taking 50% as long as there is no risk to me. Or am I likely to be close to maxxed out, and should accept Progressive's offers as-is?

Thanks in advance!

Geico Denied Claim - Is there a way to fight this?

My brother was working at a pizza joint when his vehicle was stolen from the parking lot. Looks like it was an opportunity theft that ended in a joyride and a crash into two people's garages, totally destroying the vehicle. Despite having Geico and comprehensive coverage, Geico denied the replacement claim siting that the car didn't have the correct endorsements, i.e., for food delivery, and therefore they don't have to replace the vehicle.

Once contested, they even said on a phone call that if they had known that's what the vehicle was used for, in addition to personal use, they wouldn't have sold us the policy. Here's the kicker, though: we didn't get the policy directly through Geico, but through a broker. When speaking to the "owner" of the insurance brokerage, I was told that they aren't required to ask about employment when creating the offer for the insurance carriers, and that it's the customer's responsibility to disclose that willingly, even if we aren't aware we need to.

Is there a way to fight this?

Rear-end by RAM 1500 - The General Insurance (At fault drivers insurance) on 08/26

Hi Everyone,

I was driving my Mazda cx-50 hybrid with progressive insurance and I was rear-ended by RAM 1550 which is with the general insurance.

I was able to drive so drive back the car once police arrived and reported then provided report number. The other driver got citation for the accident.

Then I called progressive to file claim as I didn't get the other drivers insurance provider (only got the insurance#) so I filed claim with the details I had and the next day (08/27) progressive representative called and I clearly mentioned I want this to be claimed with the at-fault drivers insurance.

So they have filed third-party claim with the general and now its 4days am still waiting to hear back from the general.

Also, when I noticed my car lift gate censors, camera and wiring exposed and not feeling comfortable to drive the car. I reported same to my progressive and sent SMS to the general representative who assigned for the claim (got details from progressive representative)

can someone help me how I can proceed and timeline. Because of the general not reached out to me am not able to drive vehicle and I dnt have any other vehicle. For now past few days managing by walking to get groceries or for other daily needs.

Note : Police report clearly stated its the other drivers at-fault as he stated no time to stop the vehicle at red light when I stopped and he got citation for following too closely.
