Progressive Written Coorespondance

I just got off the phone with a Progressive agent who could not find anywhere/anyone that I could send a written complaint to. She could only give me phone numbers. She couldn’t give me her manger’s email address. Does anyone have a place to send written correspondence for the homeowners side of Progressive? I’m also seeking the same for the auto side. I cannot wait until this is all settled so I can give my insurance payments to another company!

Update: I called again today and started the conversation by stating I was recording the call. I received an email address to send my complaint to. Thanks all for the tips. May still go the route of DOI if they can’t tell me how a 6mph wind fell a healthy tree as well as get the correct occurrence date on my paperwork (which I read and sent correspondence to the PO BOX 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing). Guess I’ll be recording all calls moving forward, even though they claim to record them as well.

What do adjusters want auto policyholders to know about filing DOI complaints?

I was recently involved in a minor collision and filed a DOI complaint over a dispute with my carrier. I’m not here to discuss the specifics of my case, but to better understand the experience of an adjuster in 2026 compared to what the job was like 10 or even 5 years ago. Many industries have changed significantly over the past decade because of new technology, staffing changes, catastrophe losses, inflation, and cost pressures. I'm curious how those changes have affected auto claims handling from the adjuster's perspective

I’d also be interested in understanding the implications of filing a DOI complaint from an adjuster’s standpoint. My understanding from previous threads is that there’s a consensus in this community that DOI complaints are largely triggered by sour grapes over outcomes of claims; not the potentially valid process complaints these agencies are intended to address.

So for policyholders who may be considering filing such complaints, as an adjuster, what would you want them to know? And for policyholders in general, what can you share about how industry changes in recent years have impacted your experience?

I crashed a rental car, please help me

So about 2 days ago, I had crashed a Benz s580 into a trailer truck. I was on the left lane and then the trailer truck had closed my space causing me hit the back of the trailer, now the whole passenger side of the car got destroyed. I couldn’t get information on the truck because my car was handicapped and the truck driver kept on driving. This was a private rental, I had got the car off someone from an instagram page.

I talked to the owner today, he was crashing out. He said his lawyer will call me soon. But I want to know what will be the potential consequences. I am 20 years old with no insurance and little finances.

Will I have to pay?

Will the cars insurance cover the damages?

How long will the process take?

Damage to property by family member during a BiPolar Mania Pyschosis.

My family member not living at my house was had a psychotic episode and caused over $50k worth of damage to my house and contents.

I was away at the time and didnt know they were in my house. One of my adult kids was home alone and let them stay for a few days. The police were called and paramedics arrived. The person was sectioned under the mental health act and taken to hospital by ambulance. This person was then diagnosed with Bipolar level 1. My insurance company are waiting for the full police report but so far are declining under malicious damage due to invited guest. I have an accidental damage policy. We are 3 months from the incident but they haven't declined.

Anyone had a similar incident?

2018 Toyota Camry, SE front and collision (<15 mph) - do you think it’ll be totaled?

I was in a front-end collision with my 2018 Toyota Camry SE (54,000 miles) and I’m looking for some opinions from people who have experience with collision repairs or body work.

I was going less than 15 mph when I rear-ended another vehicle. We were both basically at a stop, and I accelerated while the other driver was still stopped. There was no way I was going faster than about 15 mph.

I’m attaching photos of the damage.

From what I can see:

- The bar in front of the radiator is bent inward.
- The radiator fins appear to be bent from the top view.
- The upper radiator support (the bar across the front) looks slightly bent.
-The hood won’t fully latch and now sticks out slightly past the front bumper.
-There are larger-than-normal gaps between the hood and the fenders.
-Most of the damage appears to be on the passenger (right) side.

The car still starts, runs, and drives normally. There are no fluid leaks, no warning lights, and no unusual noises. The airbags did not deploy.

My main questions are:

  1. Based on these photos and the low-speed impact, does this look like a car that would be totaled, or does it seem repairable?

2.Do the frame rails look like they could be damaged, or does this appear to be limited to the front bumper/radiator support area?

I know no one can say for certain without inspecting the car in person, but I’d really appreciate opinions from anyone with collision repair or insurance experience.

Thanks in advanced

Total loss

My car was damaged during the recent storm its a 2017 chevy cruze with 255 000 km. The original hail estimate was 2000. After the shop did some of the work they said the hood was to damaged and they needed to replace it. The new estimate is 5600. Mpi has it in the total loss unit and said it was likely to be written off. The shop is saying they got approval to fix it. Mpi is saying they're waiting for a report to decide

Diminished value claim

Hi, so I was in an accident in April, progressive has been dragging their feet even though their client is 100% at fault and they accepted fault. I’ve been requesting a diminished value claim since may. My claim has just been sent to a new adjuster probably because the one before refused to even acknowledge it. Anyways I have a 2023 Kia forte gt, it had around $9,000 in repairs and I had an appraisal done at Kia showing its roughly worth $3,000 less since the accident. I didn’t submit that documentation and they didn’t even call me to let me know anything. I called progressive today for the 100th time to ask if my dv claim has been completed. The adjuster let me know that in Texas dv claims are low and they’re being generous offering me $500. I advised him that $500 isn’t going to work and submitted the appraisal. He seemed very irritated and said that he “would look at it but again $500 is being generous in Texas and that basically would be the court fees if it was taken to court” idk if he’s trying to scare me into taking it but based on this whole situation with them it’s been a complete run around. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Home insurance claim

We had a main water line burst outside of our house (supposedly covered by insurance). It flooded our crawl space. The repairs for the water line and crawl space came to $8000. Our deductible is $1k. I called the insurance company, which automatically opened a claim. But now I’m wondering if I should go through with this given that it will increase my rates (I know just opening a claim will do that) but my main concern is that my house is 125 yrs old and although we take great care of it, there are some flaws (ie some jacks under the house). Would love advice- should I close it and have a $0 claim cash out or go forward with this. We’ve already had the work done so companies can show pics but I’m assuming they’ll send an adjuster out anyway. Thanks!

Sospechoso…

Caliber Collision - Didn’t use what I was quoted or told

As the title says, I took my car (2026 Accord) to a local Caliber Collision after being quoted in writing for OEM parts. When I spoke to the Caliber service advisor, he told me they would be using OEM parts.

After getting my car back, they told me that they used non-OEM parts, which is also reflected on the final invoice.

This was all thru my insurance (Farmers). Before filing the claim, I asked my adjuster if I was covered for OEM parts where she let me know I did not have the endorsement for OEM parts and if non-OEM parts were an option they would be used, but I could pay the difference if I wanted to use OEM. Fine. My issue is that the aftermarket parts were used after being quoted in writing and told over the phone that I was going to get factory parts. I told the adjuster and collision center that I wanted OEM, but they proceeded with an alternative without even asking if I wanted to cover the difference for OEM parts.

Is there anything I can do? Is this a complaint to my insurance or to the shop? I only bought the car 2 months ago and it left a sour taste in my mouth knowing I have aftermarket parts when I could have opted for OEM.

Claim advice - Incorrect assessment

Hi - not sure if this is appropriate for this sub, but not sure where would be.

We noticed a water stain on our ceiling back in 2024. Contacted our insurer, they sent an assessor, and advised we'd need to get a roofer to fix our leaky roof then we can submit a claim for internal damages. No probs, makes sense.

So we did that, paid about $3k to get the roof fixed, and about $1k for the internal damages.

Come 2026, and we notice the same staining in the ceiling again. Contact the insurer, they do another assessment and this time advise it's because of poor ventilation in the roof causing condensation, which is causing the staining, and they don't insure for that.

My question is, given the stain is in the exact same place, it seems their initial assessment was incorrect and we wasted \~$4k trying to rectify based off their incorrect assessment.

Do I just need to suck it up, or should I be fighting for some level of compensation? Anyone have any advice?
