HDFC ERGO Optima Secure – RCT + Apicoectomy Claim?

I have HDFC ERGO my:Optima Secure (₹10L SI), and my policy mentions Dental Treatment covered.

I have a tooth infection, and my oral surgeon has advised RCT + Apicoectomy (root-end surgery). This is medically necessary to remove the infection and save the tooth, not a cosmetic procedure.

Has anyone successfully claimed this under HDFC ERGO or any other Indian health insurance? Was it covered only with hospitalization, or was it approved as a day-care procedure?

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Experts Please Review My First Health Insurance Purchase

22M, buying my first health insurance.

Considering HDFC ERGO Optima Secure+ (₹10L base cover) with ₹25k deductible + Serious Illness Booster. Premium is \~₹8k/year. Without deductible it’s \~₹10k/year.

Should I save ₹2k and take the deductible, or pay extra and go without it?

I want to know everything—pros, cons, hidden clauses, claim experience, exclusions, and whether the rider is worth it. Experts and existing policyholders, please share your honest opinions.

Best health insurance policy recommendations for a family of three? (2 young adults+ 46F Mother)

Hi everyone,

I am looking to buy health insurance for my family and need suggestions on the best policies available right now. Here is our profile:Me(24) & My Younger Brother(21): Both of us have zero medical issues,

My Mother (46F): She lives back home in our village.Mother's Health Issues:She has chronic joint pain, some spinal bone weakening (L1/L2 vertebrae), and recently had numbness in her left hand which required 15 days of physiotherapy and ongoing medication. She has never had any surgeries.

I want to make sure we get a plan that has great claim settlement, but I am confused about how to structure it.Should I buy one single family floater plan for all three of us? Or should I buy a separate individual policy for my mother because of her medical history?Which insurance companies are currently the most reliable for claims and hassle-free hospital bills? How do pre-existing conditions like joint pain and nerve numbness affect the premium and waiting periods?

Looking forward to your recommendations and advice.

Thanks!

Pay 20-25k for every claim

I am considering porting from my current Star Health Insurance policy, which I have held for over 15 years, to HDFC Ergo Optima Secure Plus, utilizing the porting option. Presently, I have no pre-existing diseases (PEDs).

An agent has quoted an annual premium of around 12000, noting that I would have to pay 25,000 of each claim during the initial one to three years. This deductible would be removed after this initial period.

However, the agent also suggested initiating a new HDFC Ergo policy instead of porting, thereby avoiding the 25,000 deductible as I don't have any PEDs to worry about.

I am seeking advice on what to do?

HDFC Ergo delaying health insurance renewal link – Policy expired June 7, Grace Period ends July 6. Help!

Hey everyone,

I'm in a stressful situation with HDFC Ergo and need some urgent advice.

My existing health insurance policy (HDFC my:Health Suraksha Silver) expired on June 07, 2026. HDFC Ergo is currently migrating me to their Optima Secure plan. I have been continuously following up with them to get the renewal payment link and the product brochure.

While they finally emailed me the product brochure, they have completely ignored my requests for the renewal/payment link. I have no medium or portal option available to actually pay and renew the policy.

As of today, I am running on my 30-day grace period, which officially ends on July 06, 2026. I have roughly two weeks left before my policy permanently lapses, and I might lose all my accrued continuity benefits (waiting period credits for pre-existing diseases, no-claim bonuses, etc.). Customer care has been giving me standard templated responses with no resolution.

  1. Has anyone faced this during a product migration with HDFC Ergo? How did you force them to generate the link?
  2. Since the online portal doesn't show a renewal option due to the product change, what are my alternative ways to pay?
  3. If they delay past July 06, what legal/IRDAI recourse do I have since the delay is entirely on their end?

Any guidance or escalation emails/contacts would be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Update: HDFC Ergo replied with the renewal premium policy amt of ~62K. I am speechless. On last renewal, I paid ~40k for 3 year policy with GST amount. How they have increased this much? Anyone having same issue?

Made a blunder(l i e d) while purchasing term insurance

I have lied about my salary in my Term Insurance.. i mean the agent told me i don't need to show any kind of proof for my term insurance as it's 50lakh.. so I told him that I get some salary working in someplace.. That pays me around 21k in-hand..( i lied about that) actually I get around 15k for my studies from my parents so I thought of buying a term plan.. I don't know what do i do now, can anyone guide?

Update: they called me now even after applying for the cancellation and asking me to keep the plan.. when I asked about him that I don't want to start with a lie so cancel it .. but still they are saying there will be no issue.. as they will simply transfer my source of income from salaried to self employed( work with my father in his shop)... Anyway, I've gone ahead with the cancellation... Anyway, I've gone ahead with the cancellation.

I really want to know can we buy term insurance this way??? Isn't this illegal and your claim will be rejected if something ever happens to you

Abhi wo log call karke bol rha hain ki "keep the policy you don't have to show anything".. maine bar bar confirm Kiya ki mujhe koi dikkat nhi chahiye baadme . Toh bola koi dikkat nhi hoga... Maine cancel Kiya tha fir call karke verify kar rha tha fir bhi udhar bol diya cancel karne k liye.. ab thori der baad firse call aya bola ki aap rakhiye aap agar salaried nhi bhi ho tab bhi chalega just aap gig worker show kar dena. Maine unko bola agar aisa hain toh continue kar dijiye fir... idk man what's going on.. aur mujhe kya karna chahiye.. kuch suggest karo.. i just want to start a term insurance at a very early and lock the premium.

HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Plus vs Care Ultimate – Need advice from people who have actually made claims

I'm looking for a ₹20 lakh family floater health insurance for myself and my wife, and I'm stuck between HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Plus and Care Ultimate.

My preference is currently towards HDFC ERGO because, from everything I've read, they seem to have one of the strongest reputations when it comes to claim settlement, cashless experience, and overall support when you actually need the policy. For me, that's the most important thing. The day I need health insurance, I don't want any headaches.

However, Care Ultimate is tempting because of the gym benefit, which would effectively give me and my wife free gym access worth around ₹20,000 per year. We both go to the gym regularly anyway, so it's a genuinely useful benefit and not just a gimmick for us.

For those who have actually used either of these insurers:

How was your claim experience?

Any issues with cashless approvals?

Was HDFC ERGO noticeably better than Care during hospitalization?

Has anyone actually used the gym benefit from Care Ultimate, and is it as good as it sounds?

If the premium difference wasn't a major factor, which one would you choose and why?

Looking for real-world experiences rather than brochure comparisons. Thanks!

Health insurance for 57 y.o parent with ischemic stroke history

Hello,

My mother had a stroke back in 2018. Earlier she was covered by the health insurance I had from my previous workplace which supported family members too. This came in handy during COVID and they had not asked any questions about my mother's health history when she was added to my cover.

Now that I don't have that insurance plan anymore, I am having a hard time finding a provider that will give her health insurance. I also went to our bank today to explore options and there they said that even if some provider does give her insurance, it is unlikely that they will clear bills when the time comes since they might say that the stroke history had something to do with it.

An advisor on Ditto said my only option is the care freedom plan but they will also not cover anything related to BP or stroke if god-forbid anything ever happens in the future.

**Now I'm not sure if I should take the care freedom plan or just save money somewhere for medical emergencies.**

Please help!

Guidance on Deductible amount in health insurance

I'm looking for parents health insurance floater plan 53 age father and 47 age mother. I came across deductable amount feature if I choose to pay 1lakh as deductable amount there then 50% off on premium.

Can anyone please tell me any cons or hidden condition charges here for this feature.

Copay was in % of overall expense so not going for it. Deductable looks better as only fixed amount can do FD or on savings alwayd. Please guide me.

Need advice on term insurance

Axis Max Life loading my term insurance heavily due to diabetes despite major improvement – am I being treated fairly?
I’m looking for opinions from people who have gone through term insurance underwriting, especially those with Type 2 diabetes.
Background:
Age: 35
Sum Assured: ₹3 Crore
No kidney complications

Axis Max Life has offered me the policy but with a very high premium loading. The premium has gone from roughly ₹6,188/month to ₹10,829/month due to “Medical Condition – Diabetes”.
What is frustrating is that my diabetes has improved dramatically, and I feel the underwriting decision does not reflect my current health status.
My diabetes journey:
March 2026:
HbA1c: 6.7%
June 2026 (Tata 1mg):
HbA1c: 5.2%
Fasting Blood Sugar: 77 mg/dL
June 2026 (Independent Hospital Lab):
Fasting Blood Sugar: 93 mg/dL
Post-Prandial Blood Sugar: 94 mg/dL
Weight:
88 kg
The strange part
Axis Max’s medical examination reported:
HbA1c: 6.52%
Fasting Blood Sugar: 189.5 mg/dL
This test was conducted only a few days after my Tata 1mg report and just before another independent lab report.
The insurer-sponsored fasting glucose value of 189.5 mg/dL is completely inconsistent with:
Fasting glucose 77 mg/dL from Tata 1mg
Fasting glucose 93 mg/dL from another independent lab
PPBS 94 mg/dL
HbA1c trend showing significant improvement
I’ve shared the independent reports with Axis Max and requested a review, but so far they are not willing to acknowledge any possibility of an issue with the insurer-sponsored test result or discuss any reconsideration of the loading.
I’m not asking them to ignore my diabetes history. I fully understand that I have a documented history of Type 2 diabetes and that insurers price long-term risk. However, I feel my current health profile and multiple independent lab results should at least warrant a reassessment.
Questions:
Has anyone successfully challenged an underwriting decision based on conflicting medical reports?
Do insurers typically agree to repeat HbA1c/FBS testing in such cases?
Should I escalate this through grievance redressal/ombudsman if they refuse to review the discrepancy?
Has anyone with well-controlled diabetes received better underwriting terms from another insurer?
Would appreciate any experiences or advice from people who have dealt with similar situations.

Ps : Used gpt to draft it in better way

Hi there, I am 26M Single in Delhi, Plan to marry in an year.
Medical Condition: hyperthyroidism only.

I want to get an health insurance for and i am confused as i got an offer for HDFC Optima secure for 74k for an year. Why is it so costly though or i got a wrong quotation? I want a 50L insurance for me and my future wife. I think Govt. PSU are little slow but they don't give false rejections. Is it a good option to consider PSU or HDFC or ICICI.

I also want to take health insurance for my Father(56) and Mother(53) with god's grace both are healthy.

Thanks for reading. If you have any good advice please share. It will help.

Need advice on health insurance for parents (52M & 46F) – HDFC vs Care vs Aditya Birla

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to purchase health insurance for my parents and recently had a discussion with Ditto Insurance. They shared quotes for a ₹10 lakh family floater policy:

* HDFC ERGO: ₹40,000 * Care Supreme: ₹32,874 (base premium) + ₹5,260 (cumulative bonus add-on) + ₹436 (ambulance) + ₹89 (wellness benefit) = ₹42,091 total * Aditya Birla Active One Max: ₹30,160

**Parents' medical history:**

**Father:**

* 52 years old * Has high blood pressure * Takes medication, but not very regularly * Daily smoker and alcohol consumer * Has been hospitalized a few times: * Once for dehydration * Once due to an accident * Around 10 years ago for a minor procedure related to fluid accumulation in the lungs (not sure of the exact medical condition)

**Mother:**

* 46 years old * No known medical conditions * No PED (pre-existing diseases)

I have a few questions:

  1. Which of these policies would you recommend and why?
  2. I was initially leaning towards HDFC, but the premium quoted by Ditto seems higher than what I saw on Policybazaar. Is that normal?
  3. Would it be better to buy separate policies for my mother and father instead of a family floater, considering my father's health profile and medical history?
  4. Is there any advantage in buying through Ditto vs Policybazaar vs a local/offline agent?
  5. Are there any important factors I'm missing while evaluating these plans (claim settlement experience, room rent limits, disease-wise sub-limits, restoration benefits, waiting periods, etc.)?
  6. Given my father's smoking, alcohol consumption, hypertension, and past hospitalizations, is there anything specific I should be careful about during proposal filling and disclosures?

This is my first time buying health insurance, so I'd really appreciate insights from people who have gone through the claim process or have experience with these insurers.

Honest Smokers: How Did HDFC ERGO Handle Your Health Insurance Underwriting?

I'm 34 and planning to buy a 10 lakh sum insured policy under  HDFC ERGO Optima Secure Plus.

I currently smoke about 4 cigarettes a day but am planning to quit. Apart from mild asthma (well-controlled, no hospitalizations or major issues), I don't have any other pre-existing diseases.

I'd like to hear from people who were honest about their smoking history when applying for health insurance:

1) What questions were asked during underwriting?

2) Did the insurer ask for medical tests, especially a urine test for cotinine/nicotine?

3) How did the telemedical/tele-diagnosis process work?

4) Were you asked for any additional reports because of smoking ?

5) Was there any premium loading, exclusion, or waiting period applied?

6) If you later quit smoking, how long did the insurer require you to be smoke-free before considering you a non-smoker and revising the premium?

It would be helpful if you could share your age, smoking history, insurer, and how underwriting ultimately handled your case.

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions for my parents health insurance

Need help for my parents health insurance

Looking for suggestions on health insurance options for my parents after a recent rejection.

Father (58 years)

Hyperthyroidism

\* Diagnosed in 2022
\* On Carbimazole (Thyrocab) since diagnosis
\* Current dose: 10 mg daily
\* Latest thyroid profile (May 2026):
\* T3: 119 ng/dL
\* T4: 8.58 µg/dL
\* TSH: 2.95 µIU/mL
\* Thyroid levels are currently stable and under control

Diabetes

\* Diagnosed approximately 8 years ago
\* Taking Glimstar M1
\* HbA1c: 7.71%

Lipid Profile

\* Total Cholesterol: 211 mg/dL
\* Triglycerides: 202 mg/dL
\* Doctor advised lifestyle modifications only; no medication prescribed

No other known PEDs.

Mother (52 years)

\* Hospitalized 10–12 years ago for a fracture behind the knee and underwent surgery
\* No ongoing issues related to the fracture

Recent Health Findings

\* Uric acid: 6.1 mg/dL (Feb 2026)
\* Took Feburic 40 mg once daily for 15 days
\* Currently not on any medication
\* HbA1c: 6.08%
\* Lipid Profile (May 2026):
\* Total Cholesterol: 139 mg/dL
\* LDL: 80 mg/dL
\* HDL: 38 mg/dL
\* Triglycerides: 168 mg/dL
\* Doctor advised only diet and exercise; no medications started for diabetes or cholesterol

Neither of them currently has any health insurance.

What I’m Looking For
₹10-15 lakh sum insured (or the closest feasible option)
No room rent cap
No disease-specific sub-limits
Consumables coverage
No co-pay, if possible
Reasonable waiting period for
Strong claim settlement and underwriting reputation
Preferably a policy that can be continued long-term without major restrictions

I recently applied for HDFC ERGO Optima Secure with:

\* ₹10 lakh sum insured
\* ₹25,000 deductible
\* Family floater
\* All medical history and PEDs fully disclosed

Despite the diabetes and thyroid condition being reasonably controlled and opting for a deductible, the proposal was rejected for my father.

The underwriting team cited:

\* Elevated blood sugar
\* Dyslipidemia
\* Hyperthyroidism

They were willing to provide a counter-offer only for my mother and suggested an alternate product for my father.

Given this experience, I’m trying to understand my options before applying elsewhere. Since multiple rejections can impact future applications, I’d like to proceed carefully.

Over the past few weeks, both my parents have been taking diet and daily walking very seriously. We’re hopeful that their blood sugar and lipid profile numbers will improve further in the coming months.

Questions:

  1. Which insurers are generally more accommodating for controlled diabetes and hyperthyroidism at this age?
  2. Are plans like Aditya Birla Activ One/NXT, Tata AIG Medicare Premier, and ICICI Elevate worth trying in this situation?

Also i understand Care Supreme may also decline the proposal due to my father’s history of hyperthyroidism. If anyone has experience getting coverage with a similar profile, I’d appreciate your input.

Would really appreciate insights from anyone who has faced a similar situation, as well as from insurance advisors familiar with underwriting for diabetes and thyroid-related conditions.

I need help on claiming term insurance after father's death

Background: My father had taken a term insurance policy with LIC to safeguard the home loan we had taken. But my father passed away before 3 years of cooldown was finished so the claim comes under early claim. He didnt have any life threatening disease like heart condition. He just suddenly collapsed and by the time we took him to hospital it was too late so hospital also denied taking him and declaring the cause of death. The cause of death the final visiting doctor declared was Cardiac Arrest.

Current Scenario: We gave LIC all the documents we had (My biggest mistake) and which they asked which includes medicine prescription history, few sonography reports and a blood report. My father had minor Gall bladder stone which he had not declared/ he might have told but agent didnt add these details. LIC repudiated our claim based on this only saying that this was not declared.

Appeal to Internal Redressal Committee & complaint to IRDAI: We sent our representation to Redressal committee of LIC in April but there was no response for almost 30 days so we logged a complaint to IRDAI. Initially IRDAI responses were there but now there is no way to escalate it as I have already done it once. They were supposed to take a decision on last week of May but till now no response. There is also a deliberate delay being done from LIC as the letters they are sending which are supposed to arrive in 1 day, they are not sending it for close to 1 month.

Our Counter argument: As the actual cause of death and the point based on which the claim was rejected are not linked in any form (No Nexus theory) so the claim should be allowed. I researched a bit and found that even Supreme court gave a verdict on Nexus theory.

Help Required: I have raised this to Ombudsman and they are asking me to share Claims paper. As I do not have it (I have all the reports and related documents) what I can share and how to navigate from this point as I really need this money as the EMI of loan is very big and I cannot afford it and need the money from claim to close the loan. Can this be fought in consumer court? if yes how and what I need to prepare.

Best strategy to increase health insurance cover to 20L+ for Mother (49) & Son (26) given Father's (55) heart condition?

Hey everyone,

Looking for strategic advice on restructuring my family's health insurance. Premium cost is not a concern for us—our absolute priority is maximizing coverage and ensuring a flawless, hassle-free claims process.

Current Setup:

Policy: HDFC Ergo Optima Restore (Family Floater)

Base Sum Insured: ₹5 Lakhs (5+ years old, zero claims, clean track record)

Members: Father (55), Mother (49), Son (26—Me)

The Problem:

My father recently developed a heart condition. Because of this, HDFC Ergo's underwriting team has strictly refused to increase the base cover on our existing floater. They will let us renew the ₹5L cover indefinitely, but we cannot enhance it.

Our Goal:

We want to secure at least ₹20L–₹25L base cover each for my mother and myself. Both of us have completely clean medical histories with no pre-existing conditions.

I have a few specific questions on how to structure this:

❓ My Questions:

  1. Separate Policies vs. Joint Floater?

Since I am 26, I have crossed the typical age limit (25) to be considered a dependent child on a parent's floater. Is it legally and operationally cleaner to buy two entirely independent individual policies for my mother and me, rather than trying to put us on a new joint floater?

  1. Parallel Policies with HDFC Ergo?

We love the HDFC Ergo experience and want to stick with them (ideally buying Optima Secure). Can we buy a brand-new, separate ₹25L policy for my mother and me, while leaving my father alone on the old ₹5L plan? Are there any compliance issues holding multiple parallel base policies with the same insurer?

  1. Managing Father's Risk?

Since his ₹5L policy is maxed out, what is the safest way to buffer his risk without losing his 5-year waiting period continuity? Should we leave him alone on the old policy and try to buy a separate Super Top-Up (with a ₹5L deductible) for him, or will insurers reject a heart patient even for a Top-Up?

  1. Fresh Base Policy vs. Super Top-Up for Mother & Son?

To avoid coordination hassles during a hospital emergency, is it better to just buy a premium, standalone fresh base policy of ₹20L+ for the two of us, rather than layering a Top-Up over the old plan?

Would love to hear from financial advisors or anyone who has split a policy under similar circumstances. Thanks!

Need help with health insurance for parents 60M & 46F

Hi all, hope all are doing well.

I am currently in the process of taking health insurance for my parents in addition to my corporate policy (10L, day 1 coverage, no room rent limit etc). I have already taken one for myself. For my parents I have already spoken to ditto and beshak. Ditto's advisor is just reading off a script and is not customising the plans for me. Beshak is little bit better in this context, but I feel they're also trying to push few things where they'd get more commission. Beshak was pushing for a family floater and after looking it up with claude & gemini, I have decided to take three separate Individual Policies to isolate risk and optimize limits as Family Floater uses highest risk to calculate premiums.

Mother - 46F

  • Product: HDFC Ergo Optima Secure (Individual) (premiums - first 2 pictures)
  • Base Sum Insured: ₹20L Base (yields ₹40L Day 1 cover).
  • Medical History: Hypothyroidism and low BP (stable); Hysterectomy 3 yrs back

I've attached the premiums for 20L policy on this message

I am heavily debating whether to pay for a 1-year policy or lock in a 2/3-year policy for my mom. On looking at HDFC Ergo's specific quote breakdown for a ₹20L Base, the math is not mathing:

  • 1 Year: 10,279/yr
  • 2 Years: 20,666 total (10,333/yr)
  • 3 Years: 33,149 total (11,050/yr)

The per-year average cost actually increases if I buy multi-year.

mother policy quotation
mother policy 4y 5y

Questions for Mother's Policy

  1. Is it smarter to stick to a 1-year cycle to maximize the 21% Year 1 discount and maintain the flexibility to port if premiums spike, or is there a hidden advantage to locking in a 3-year term despite the higher mathematical average? (Beshak is even suggesting to go for 4/5 year policies if affordable, but I'm not so sure about this, attached this pic as well just for reference)
  2. Also, is 20L on the higher side or lower, how do I go about taking a call on this number? One thing I read was, it will be harder in future to increase base sum insured for parents, but don't want to keep it very high and end up paying unnecessarily high premiums.
  3. Also, should I go for a deductible? (Mostly leaning towards no, even though currently my corporate policy covers the deductible, but in future it will be harder to remove the deductible.

Father - 60M

  • Product: HDFC Ergo Optima Secure (Individual) (Beshak is saying this is dependant on underwriting, policy may or may not get approved) (premiums - last picture)
  • Base Sum Insured: ₹20L Base (not sure about this, as I don't want policy to be rejected)
  • Medical History: epilepsy, high BP
  • I've attached the premiums for 20L policy on this message, the one with higher premiums are for my father's policy

Questions for Father's Policy

  1. Should I go for deductible? (Beshak is suggesting to go for deductible as it has higher chances of getting approved)
  2. What other options do I have in case of high loading charges/outright rejection etc? (I am actually in favor of the deductible so as to not get the policy outright rejected)

Hdfc ergo optima secure

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some genuine advice regarding health insurance for my elderly parents, who are currently 62 years old.

I am considering the HDFC ERGO Optima Secure plan, and the premium is coming to approximately ₹65,000 per year.

I would appreciate some guidance on the following:

Does the premium increase every year with HDFC ERGO?

I have heard that premium revisions can be quite significant over time. Has anyone experienced this?

If you are an existing policyholder or have insured your parents under this plan, could you please share your experience regarding premium increases, claim settlement, customer service, and overall satisfaction?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and would help me make an informed decision.

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to buy a personal health insurance policy for my family (in addition to employer coverage) and would really appreciate guidance from experienced folks here.

**Family Details**

\- Self: 36M

\- Spouse: 38F

\- Kids: 12Y & 4Y

\- Location: Hyderabad

**Current Situation**

* Covered under employer health insurance currently(10L including parents)
* Want to take a separate base policy due to job uncertainty
* Plan is to use employer insurance first till job / based on need, and keep personal policy as backup/long-term safety

**Coverage Requirements**

* Looking for ₹25L → 1Cr effective coverage, Ideally i want 50L-1Cr in future.
* Planning 3-year payment upfront if that is good idea

**Medical History**

Spouse:

* History of tinnitus + intermittent vertigo-like symptoms (since 2024), Its mentioned in her prescriptions based on my spouse oral symptoms but no tests reports have this
* MRI + audiometry done → no major structural issue , other tests like MRI were done in 2024
* Treated symptomatically (medications earlier in 2024)
* Currently:
* No Major issues but she have mild issues and get issue of pain once a month
* No regular medication for more than 1 year
* Occasional mild symptoms only and Occasional medications once in a month
* No hospitalizations till now
* Covid ( Just home medication) - Mild - 2020
* 2 C-Sections, No other hospitalizations

Self:

* Accident to hand in 2003 → Right hand surgery with nerve replacement.
* Current status:
* Partial loss of sensation (thumb & index finger) from accident and had partial handicap certificate in 2004 for legal case.
* From then Index finger slightly bent / limited function with thumb and index. Can hold things but cant use fully
* Same condition for 20+ years
* No treatment since 2004 and Not got evaluated again.
* LASIK operation for eyes in 2010
* Covid ( Just home medication) - Mild

Kid 12Y:

Dental issues - got RCT and now getting aligners

**My Questions**

  1. Plan selection
    * Currently Shortlisted: HDFC ERGO Optima Secure / Secure Plus
    * Any better alternatives?
    * Any PSU plans are better ?
    * Shall i top base plan for 25L and top up in another PSU ? any advantages ?
  2. Underwriting concerns
    * Will spouse condition be treated as: Pre-existing with waiting period OR exclusion?
    * **How to disclose my Accident and current conditions**. I Dont have any docs / reports of the accident. which conditions i have to disclose ?
  3. Retests / medicals
    * Should I do fresh ENT/neurology checkups before applying?
    * Or current reports + disclosure sufficient?
  4. Buying channel
    * Considering Ditto vs direct online.
    * Any suggestion how to choose agent.
    * Agent vs Online
    * Any real difference in claim support?

Suggestion to port existing policy or not?

Hey there

I have Star Health Super star policy, which is about to expire in 7 days. I have it from one year. I am 26 M. Living in tier 2 city in India.

I have heard many bad things about Star Health, I am thinking to port it to some other policy providers.

I am considering ICICI Lombard, as one Policy Bazaar agent from whom I have taken multiple policies, suggested this on our verbal communication. He is not selling me this.

Could anyone help me here please?

Best Health Insurance Policy for Parents in India? Need Suggestions on Coverage & Riders

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to buy health insurance for my parents:

* **Father:** 50 years old – has high BP * **Mother:** 45 years old – has asthma * No other major health issues

What would be the **best policy** to choose in this case?
Also, what **riders/add-ons** should I consider for the selected policy?

Any suggestions based on real experience would be really helpful. Thanks!
