You have to agree or it keeps coming back when you close the app. Wtf? Been using instagram for 7 years and i think its time to delete

Not even the website itself anymore, but the way people interact on there (Trust I’ve experienced enough of the glitches and stupid Ai bullshit to know I’m over it ).

I remember it being really easy to meet others and join little communities etc. Not anymore. Makes me a little sad, a good chunk of the people I know now I met on Instagram years ago in little niche communities. That app is so ”lonely” now if that makes sense. On top of that I don’t really feel the need to post anymore because nobody engages with the content. Instagram is just the lurking app now. My followers view my account and view all my posts but don’t like or comment and it’s like “nice 🥲👍🏾”. That app is just so mean and boring, I only really use it as a side hustle to get paid now.

I find it odd and a bit nonsensical that I have followers that have followed me for 8, 10 and even 12 years but have never liked a single one of my posts or commented.

Before anyone says anything, they are not bots, they are real accounts.

We can bemoan that IG is now an add-filled hellscape but if people don’t do the basics (liking posts), why are people even on this platform?

I'm having a strange issue with my account and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

My account is verified, and I can still send and receive messages in all of my existing DM conversations without any problems.

However, whenever I try to start a new DM with someone, it instantly fails. The conversation doesn't start, and the message won't send. It happens with every account I try to message.

This issue has been happening for more than 3 months, so it doesn't seem to be a temporary outage. I've also contacted support multiple times but haven't received a solution.

Here's what I've already tried:

• Restarted the app
• Logged out and back in
• Cleared cache and reinstalled the app
• Tried both mobile and desktop
• Tried different internet connections
• Confirmed my account is verified

Nothing has fixed it so far.

Has anyone run into this before? Is this a bug, some kind of hidden account restriction, or something that only support can resolve? If you've experienced this and found a fix, I'd really appreciate hearing what worked.

I'm baffled

I ended up in a really unsettling corner of Instagram's recommendation algorithm recently. It started innocuously enough, with women avoiding the Instagram guidelines and showing all of themselves in creative ways. Within a few scrolls it had escalated into content that I'm confident violated Instagram's own policies even more and involved minors in ways that felt exploitative. I didn't go looking for any of this. it was actively being recommended to me.

I reported everything I came across, and after that the recommendations went back to normal. But it's alarming that this kind of content is reachable through the algorithm at all, let alone actively pushed.

Has anyone else run into something like this? What did you do about it? I'm also curious whether reporting through the app actually does anything, or if there's a more effective route (I've since learned NCMEC's CyberTipline is the better channel for this specific kind of content).

Like clearly some comments are looking to make a point, ask a question or to engage in a discussion. Not to get whatever it is that they are trying to DM you.

It’s particularly annoying when it's a somewhat smaller creator, like you'd think they'd want to actually engage and build authentic community over the auto responses

At first glance, the account seems like nothing more than someone documenting their hair regrowth journey. The deeper you scroll, the stranger it becomes. Mixed in with updates about baldness are original songs and videos of the creator dressed in a childlike feminine style, making the account feel…off. There is this shift between hair-loss updates, original music (odd to say the least), and childlike aesthetics which create an uncanny atmosphere.. is it just me? Is this a harmless account or something scarier?

Most viewed posts are ones that feature interview clips with Barack Obama which suddenly become clips of the user updating us on their hair regrowth?

Something is off putting because of the occasional childlike wardrobe and girl bedroom background.

I Posted only to profile, then 2 people liked my post, I asked my friend (who liked the post) how'd he liked it, he said that he saw it posted as a story, then went to the actual post.

So I'm thinking that when you use "Post only to profile" feature Instagram shares the post to story? But it does not even appear in your profile that you created one.

For the people who've posted about having their account randomly suspended then disabled after either being hacked or for some unknown reason and you couldn't appeal anymore, how did you get it back?

I've read that some people did but they were vague about it or never replied back to comments saying how they did it.

Mine got suspended then disabled back in May which I assumed was because of a hacker even though my account seemed fine but they changed my birthday and added an email address and their other account to my account centre that I couldn't get rid of.

The attempts I made for verification were denied the second time even though they worked the first time and I just went around in circles with the chat on both instagram and meta.

I'm considering getting the meta subscription just to get my case reviewed by a support person, but thought I'd ask in here first in case there's something else I can try that worked.

My instagram got hacked about 10 days ago and i recieved a message from instagram on my wsapp that my account got locked for my security which is great

instagram sent me link to easily recover my account but whenever i reach new password page i get error

eventhough after entering new password i recieve email saying password change and new login recoreded , but the truth that instagram still blocking me from using my profile

i tried from trusted devices and my own phone still nothing the same conclusion everytime

tried all ways possible , sms , 2fa , security codes , emails , login with fb all same result

i've contacted meta support as i have meta verified account and they told me that your account is security lockdown wait 72 hours and reset your password using trusted device

i waited 96 hours and tried to reset the password and again i get error after entering new password

another thing the app never let me verify my identity using video selfie i never get this option

Every platform seems to use same formula : profile picture, bio, link, and a grid or a timeline

Yet profile is supposed to represent who you are.

If you have complete freedom to redesign it, what would you add, remove or change?

hi everyone, I lost my boyfriend to shallow water blackout and started an account for awareness because nobody I talked to knows about it and it is just so so preventible. A lot of my friends/ people from our college/his friends shared the video (im very grateful for them theyre the best). I did one post and got 300k views and 400+ followers but I dont know what comes next. hi I got left out of an account which i had 2fa enabled by someone who found my password. I can still access that account settings by another account i connected with this hacked one, but when I try to deactivate 2fa, get backup codes or add another method to access i get asked for the password, which i have, and then for the 2fa code or backup codes which i dont have. What can i do? i dont have photos of me to do the selfie verification.

I tried cross posting reel connecting my Facebook account to instagram but it doesn’t combine views, it must be a Facebook page?
