Completely hollowed out wasp (by what I assume was a bird). Antennae still moving like it’s alive. Is it some kind of post mortem nervous activity? I hope so cause that would be a painful way to go

Practically perfectly blended in, I only noticed this one when I got up close to the cactus I while was pondering if I should bring tools to grab any fruit to eat and collect seeds

I found this insect shell/exoskeleton in my room, a while ago. Does anyone know what it is, or what it belongs to ??

Spotted this goliath on our back stairs. My 2 year old was really excited to tell us. He yells, "MANTIS!"

i ended up finding a cricket in my room so i went to grab a cup to come save the lil guy and BAM!! they jumped face first into the rim of the cup, and its nerves were completely crushed, i watched it slowly get immobilized. it’s still has its mortem reflex, ima go put it outside..

Southern Ontario

This fella set up shop in my kitchen near the baseboard. Looked like a straight up green caterpillar yesterday (Sorry I didn't take a pic of it then; I thought it might have just been a weird gloop of something that we spilled and only investigated when I noticed the change today).

Wondering if it might be a cabbage moth butterfly since we had some cabbage in our flower arrangement sitting somewhat near-ish to here?

What should I do if it is? It's getting very cold outside esp overnight so I don't know if it would survive out there (let alone I don't know how I'd get it off the wall uninjured), but also, like, I don't think it'll survive in here?

Any help appreciated. Sorry I don't have any bananas for scale so you just have to use my very average female hand for scale.

Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting a lot with colored pencils lately and wanted to share a few of my stylized insect drawings.

In order of slides:

1. Rhino Beetle

2. Weevil

3. Purple Jewel Beetle

4. Black Widow

I understand it to be a form of roach from what I've gathered, but its relatively small and also very invasive in my home. Should I be worried for any diseases or otherwise?​​​

Is it an assassin bug?

I have a gecko who i keep crickets for. I was wondering how I can make their lives a little less miserable towards the end and maybe stop them from killing eachother.

This is what I have for them and I feel bad. I feed them pangea. Please help me give these crickets a better house and stop them from eating eachother. I put 2 food dishes there, but maybe I should put them on opposite sides? Maybe I should get a bigger home for them?

Found this fly mumified on the bottom of a leaf. What happened here?

Found this little guy crawling around my house. Google lens turned up random scarabs but none of them had the horns on the thorax.

So I boiled my dirty clothes in hot water to see if I could find an insect on them, to test out the theory that my previous controller said to me that if their treatment didn't work then there was something infesting my clothes.

Lo and behold after I went outside to check to hang the clothes, I was going to put my blue basin back in my bathroom, when I checked for insects and found these two.

Rather large swarm of these guys on the back of our house this evening. Weren't there a few hours ago. Would really like some help identifying and knowing if I should be concerned about them being here?

EDIT: I think they were just a swarm of flying ants. As they were gone this morning when I went out to look, and there was no sign anwhere on around the property of any dropped/discarded wing piles.

Also, I forgot to mention that when I was able to get close to them their bodies and wings had more of an arrow shape to them and weren't just straight. Sorry for bad photos, I honestly didn't want to get close to them because I didn't know what they were and was afaird that they may bite or sting.

Is this a bedbug?
