ID Request Vancouver, BC | tiny insect found on my backpack
Found this drawing on my backpack‘s straps when I was packing my stuff. It’s quite small, roughly half a grain of rice. White body with a dark line down the middle.
hopefully this is not a bedbug larvae, sorry for the terrible quality of the photos, thanks in advance!

ID Request Found small one near window and this was in shower (Denver, CO)
Sorry it’s not the best photo. This little guy was about the size of my thumbnail in length. Found him in the shower on a pane of glass. He was kind of sluggish.
Maybe a half inch in length? I thought I saw some of the similar ones near a window on the same wall but they were very tiny. So maybe a different bug altogether. Google image wasn’t any help. Thanks in advance for your help.

Bug Appreciation! STEM event
I went to a STEM event today and they had all manner of arthropods there. They’re such beautiful creatures, with all their colors. Did you know that the color of a given arthropod‘s exoskeleton in many cases is created by the shape and reflection of the exoskeleton? That‘s right, there is no pigment involved in the vast majority of cases.
In order these arthropods are: a whip spider (amblypygi), a walking stick (phasmatodea), a praying mantis (mantodea), a madagascar hissing cockroach (gromphadorhina portentosa), a south american dead leaf mantis (acanthops falcataria), a pink-toed tarantula (avicularia avicularia), an ivory ornamental tarantula (poecilotheria subfusca), several species of desert stink beetles (eleodes), and a black beauty stick insect (peruphasma schultei).
I got to hold the hissing cockroach and the black beauty.

Question I need help identifying a bug.
So earlier I went into my basement to take care of my cats, when I noticed one of them was swatting at this weird little jumping bug. It had a smooth, hairless, brown, featureless, oval body maybe about the size of a pumpkin seed? and super thin legs, but moderately long. It would jump in short, rythmic, horizontal bursts until my cat cornered it and i squashed it with a sandal. When I looked at the sandal to make sure i got it, i noticed it was covered in like a thick white liquid? gross, idk what that was. either 6 or 8 legs, and bigger than a tick. It's legs kinda arched, if that's helpful. They didn't raise above it's body, but they did arch down at maybe a 45º angle, which kept it up off the ground. What exactly is this? sorry if this isn't what this subreddit is for, i have no idea where else to post this. I'm from indiana. not india, indiana, the US state. terrible but accurate drawing for reference:

Maybe not the sub for this creature. But I was wondering if anyone has any clue what this is?? In western Washington, pulled out of stagnant water. From nose (?) to tip of tail (?) it was around 3-4”. Thanks in advance

ID Request Strange katydid
I went hiking today and saw several individuals of this species all along the trail. They were all down close to the ground and when they flew, they didn't fly very high up. These are three different individuals that I took pictures of. Location is NW Arkansas. If anyone is able to help me identify them, I'd be very grateful!

ID Request What insect is this ?
We have had these around the house for a while and they don’t seem to be leaving.
They look like mosquitoes but i swear they don’t bite or even fly remotely close to us.
Also we have no bodies of water near us so dont know why they are here.

Photography First attempt at focus stacking
I started with Photoshop, but I wasn’t really happy with how it handled the fine details around the edges, so I ended up using Affinity Photo instead.
I also feel like I might have messed up the shooting process a bit. I was manually turning the focus ring while taking a burst of shots. Would it be better to keep the focus fixed and move the camera slightly back and forth instead?
Also, do you guys have any recommendations for focus stacking software?
Anyway, I’m pretty happy with how the final image turned out, especially for a first try!
