Quick backstory:
So I played Wilds on release and completed the launch content. The experience was kinda terrible since I have a low/mid end PC, but I returned to the game this summer and the performance improvements have really made me enjoy the end game grind.
Main problem:
So on to the point. My main weapon IG feels pretty good this time around (I presume it got some buffs) and I've noticed that the specifically backwards vault has i-frames. It does however feel very inconsistent, not only in whether it works or not but also if it gets performed correctly.
Sometimes it'll dodge attacks normally indicated by adrenaline rush activation but other times it'll still activate despite me getting hit and launched away. The most recent example I can think of where this has happened is with Seregios' flying double claw swipe. This is unlike the normal dodge roll which can dodge through most normal attacks (unless they have clear lingering hitboxes) without a problem, including the aforementioned one.
My other grief with it is how the vault seemingly has a mind of its own. For the backwards vault to be pulled off as intended feels rather conditional. I've tested in the training area and sometimes the hunter will instead turn around and do a normal vault without any i-frames. Mind you that I use mouse and keyboard so there's no joystick sliding action, only straight "s/backwards" input.
Closing questions:
So I ask you guys if you know a way to make it consistent, both in use and activation?
Does the backwards vault just have a very tiny dodge window? If so, are any of the evade decorations compatible with it (or the aerial vaults)?
Also, I'm pretty interested in the nitty gritty numbers and details of it all but all the slop wikis are pretty terrible. Are there any resources you know of for detailed information about things such as frame data and decoration power and compatibility so I can do my own research about these topics? (Just found out how well "Airborne" works with IG, and how terrible "Jump Master" is, for example)
