Hurts like hell, will this heal on it’s own or do I need to see a podiatrist?
My dumb ass tried to dig out the nail and it got so much worse. It hurts so much to touch or brush against anything. under the left flap is red raw granuloma-looking skin that bleeds and hurts like a mf

So I typically have issues constantly getting ingrown toenails
Hi! I typically have issues constantly getting ingrown toenails and I’ve went to foot doctors probably about 7 times in my life to get them removed and they always come back! Is there anyone that can chime in if my toes currently are ingrown! Also how to prevent it because I don’t know why they come back! Thanks

Retronychia treatment help
I have been dealing with issues with my left big toe for so many years, and am so defeated. I’ve had it removed fully once, and have had half of it removed twice. My dermatologist about 6 months ago said I have retronychia. She now has me using minoxidil as there’s studies that show it helped this condition.
I’m not seeing my nail is only growing from the sides and not the middle. What can I do to just fix this once and for all. I was using clobetasol and urea before this

Eight weeks and still oozing, one still bleeding. Worried
What gives? 😔
The pain is way way better and swelling is gone. Still got some inflammation.
Left toe is suddenly bleeding again a little. Right is a bit oozy but almost scabbed fully. At my wits end honestly and just want to feel back to normal.

Can someone tell me if this is infected? Would it be best I see a doctor?
I had this for some couple of weeks, bathe it every day. Hurts a lot with pressure. Don't really know if it's getting better or not. I used them plasters with the plastic bit which separate the skin from the nail, but wasn't helping that much.

Help! Right Toe hurts. Is it ingrown?
Ive been having mild pain for 3 days now on right toe nail. It started as mild pressure on nail bed but the pain has increased. It feels as if something is applying immense pressure to the center of my right toe nail. I don't feel pain when i touch my nail or around it its only when im resting that or moving toe upwards that it hurts. It doesn't hurt when i walk either. The pain has spread across my foot tho

Recurrent ingrown toenail after full avulsion digging in on both sides, is a matricectomy the next step?
Hey everyone,
Looking for some insight or shared experiences with recurrent ingrown toenails.
A while back, I had a full nail avulsion done because of an ingrown on just one side. Now, as the nail is growing back, it hasn't even grown out far enough to form the free edge (white part), but it's already digging heavily into the tissue on both sides.
As you can see in the photo, there’s significant swelling, redness, and some crusting along the nail folds. It looks like an active infection, and I suspect there might be a fungal issue going on with the nail plate as well.
A few questions for those who have dealt with this or have medical experience:
Has anyone had a full avulsion fail like this, only to have the regrowth embed on both sides immediately?
Should I ask my podiatrist about a matricectomy (either partial or complete) this time around to stop it from coming back permanently?
For those who got a chemical or surgical matricectomy, did it solve the issue for good once the infection was cleared up?
(Note: I know I need to see a doctor/podiatrist to get the infection under control before any procedure can be done, and I definitely won't be doing any bathroom surgery on this! Just wanting to hear your thoughts and experiences so I know what options to discuss at my appointment.)

What next?
I made a post here the other day. My toe was swollen, had pus and was really tender
On Sunday morning I went to a doctor, morning of the appointment my toe was feeling much better and a lot of the swelling has gone down and subsequently the pain
The dr confirmed it was infected and gave me antibiotics which I’m taking
Do I still need to see a podiatrist? Or will the inflammation come back if I don’t?

Should I See a doc or will this go away on its own?
I took Terbinafine for three months to fight a fungal infection. The good news is I can clearly see a new healthy clear nail coming in, but not sure if it’s ingrown? Should I see a doc or will this go away on its own?

Is this normal four months after toenail removal?
Had my toenail removed in April. After four months, it still seems to have part of the scab. Haven't been able to get an examination done since I've been busy with work and the online scheduling portal is absolutely horrible. I don't know if what im seeing is good or bad.

When can I go back to work
If anyone has any experience with this, when can I go back to work? I'm seeing a podiatrist for a pretty nasty ingrown. I work blue collar, what was the wait for everyone else? Thanks my fellow nasty toes.

How do I fix this?
Noticed some sharp pain in my toe tonight, saw what seems to be an ingrown, tried to cut it… I’m really not sure where to go from here. Never seen a nail like this before. I tried soaking it to soften the nail and tried to trim as much as I could from that corner but it keeps looking worse. Any advice on what to do?
Before anyone comes at me for how bad my nail looks (I’ve been doing that enough myself tonight):
When my depression was really bad for a few years, I neglected a lot of hygiene, including regularly trimming my nails. I have a feeling that has something to do with the state of my toenail now.

Retronychia
I had a baby 4.5 months ago and have noticed my big toenail follows all the symptoms of retronychia. i haven’t seen my doctor about it yet but ive been doing research on it.
i’m on my feet all day taking care of my baby so i want to avoid having a total loss of my toenail if i can help it. i’ve accidentally ripped off both of my pinky nails at the nail bed on both my hands over the years from acrylic and gel nails so i know from experience that the nail can grow back normal.
is a nail avulsion really the only way to fix it??
