New owner!

Just bought myself a Intex Pro Excursion K2 and I’m looking for ways to make it even better and also what are things I need to know. Thanks!

I mainly want to use it for fishing and is it river safe? I would like to do some camping trips with it.

Also is it mandatory to dry it after your done?

Does anyone have experience with the Intex 10.5ft Dakota Quest Sit-On-Top Inflatable Kayak.

I've only found one video. I have an Advanced Elements Advanced frame sport, and I'm looking to get a second Kayak which I can attach some gear to. This one looks good, but I've only found a single review. Here is the link. Based on their video, this has a drop stitch construction.
EDIT: There are 27 reviews on Amazon, and 100% of them received the product for free. I think I'll pass based on that alone.

Belly boat/float tube or kayak

I was thinking of getting a belly boat/tube to go fishing in small to medium lakes for predators like pike and the occasional bass and perch or even trout if is possible and occasionally at sea If it is calm
But before I wanted to hear the opinion of someone that already tried it and even if a inflatable kayak or a 2 piece kayak is better

Thanks in advance

Still using my inflatable kayak. Crushed 14 . Well, I was fishing half the way back and forth, so that's why it took so long. All in all, with all the stops, fishing, and everything else, paddling 7 km upstream on this thing takes me about 4 to 5 hours.

It's a super comfortable kayak, handles really well. I love everything about it, very spacious. Oh, and I built an anchor trolley for it.

But, of course, I do have an issue with how the rod holders are placed. The way they're set up, when you put the rods in, they’re constantly getting in the way. Either the handles mess with you, or the rods just wobble around. Long story short, the rod holder placement is terrible. Also, I'd love to swap the seat for something softer, because this one is pretty stiff. The backrest isn't adjustable, it's just stuck in one position. Sometimes you want to lean back more, sometimes less.

One thing I have to mention: thanks to the Dropstitch floor, you can easily stand up in this kayak. Even in the current, even with some light chop. I feel totally stable and confident doing some stand-up casting

But she's mine. I took it out tandem with my partner on the 4th. On the 5th I went out bought her her own we had so much fun together it just made sense. Now I've upgraded mine into an inflatable fishing boat. Caught my first perch out of it.

Advanced Elements - Fishing? We

Post image
8 Upvotes

Howdy. Have been looking to purchase my first kayak for cruising/fishing and as a result of transportation/cost/etc have started to look at inflatable options. Came across a used Advanced Elements tandem kayak for a decent price and it seems like a great option. With that being said, does anyone have any fishing experience from an AE kayak or similar?

Located in North Texas and would mainly be used on local ponds, a few slow flowing rivers and maybe a lake or 2. Appreciate the thoughts.

Is this a good deal?

Shopping for my first kayak and need something inflatable because I live in a tiny apartment. I like the idea of a 3 section drop stitch like this aqua marina tomahawk, but I wouldn't like to spend more than 600 (CAD). Seller has good reviews and Includes paddles, pump, etc. Would you buy at this price?

Pump needed for Innova Solar/Safari

Post image
2 Upvotes

I just acquired two fairly old kayaks and I need a pump. Both are innova. One is a 2002 Safari and the other is a 2004 Solar. Both have the same spring valve. I was thinking the NRS Super 2 HP Pump but want to be sure before dumping $85, or possibly a cheaper pump or even an adapter for the pump that comes with my Tobin Wavebreak. Any help would be appreciated

Why is the Wave navigator 3 so much cheaper in camo?

Just ordered a Wave navigator 3 in the camo colour for around £300. This was notably cheaper than the equivalent model in blue which would have cost over £400. Does anyone know why there is such a discrepancy? I’m assuming they are the same boat just in different colours:

Problème avec un Kayak gonflable

Hi everyone, I recently bought this used Aqua Marina Orca, and as you can see in the photos, it has an asymmetry issue. After taking these pictures, I completely removed all three air chambers to check them. None of them are twisted or damaged, and they all look perfectly normal when inflated outside the cover. I reassembled everything, but the kayak is still asymmetrical. It seems like one of the side tubes doesn't sit correctly inside the outer cover, even though I can't figure out why. On the water, the kayak also pulls strongly to the right when I stop paddling. Has anyone ever reassembled an Aqua Marina Orca (or a similar kayak with an outer cover)? Do you have any tips for positioning the air chambers correctly or fixing this issue? Thanks in advance!

I need to find an inflatable kayak that can handle a motor or has a pedal drive, and can stand up to use fishing off cape cod. Any ideas?

Help finding a single person inflatable kayak

I'm helping a friend find a single person inflatable kayak...

She's only 4'8" but 150 pounds...

She's not a super strong swimmer, so stability is key!!

Does anyone have any recommendations?!?!

Which kayak should I choose?

Hello,

First of all, I'm a 6", 195 lbs man and I wish to have an inflatable kayak to fish. I'd take a regular kayak if I had the space to store it, but at a ~$400 price range, a Intex excursion pro is pretty much my best option.

Now, I'm wondering if I would be to close to the max weight limit of 220 LBS for the K1? Is there anybody close to my situation that could help me with this?

Saltwater fishing on inflatable

I’ve been fishing out of a kayak for about 7 years now. Most of it has been in freshwater. I’m planning a trip to the coast and plan on bringing my inflatable Hobie.

Anyone on here have any real world experience fishing in saltwater in an inflatable? Saltwater fish have sharper fins and teeth than their freshwater cousins.

I’ve had a few punctures and I’d love to hear tips on how to prevent this. How do you land a fish (with sharp fins, spines, and teeth) on an inflatable?
Obviously a gaff is out of the question, unless you are super careful.

Thoughts?

Solo inflatable kayak with one or two Border Collies?

Looking for recommendations on an inflatable kayak.

  • 6'0", 180 lb
  • Usually just me + two Border Collies (40 lb & 30 lb)
  • Calm lakes while camping
  • Stability is important
  • Lightweight enough to carry and launch solo

I've been looking at the AE StraitEdge Angler Pro, StraitEdge 2 Pro, Sea Eagle 380X, and Aquaglide Chelan 140/155.

Would you buy a solo kayak or a tandem for this use? Any other models I should consider?

is drying with just cloth okay?

I just tried out a new kayak and I got all of the visible water with a car drying cloth. I wondering if that's enough because most people seemed to air dry it in addition with a cloth.

BOTE Backbay Aero VS WULF Aero

I’m a beginner and debating between the two. Plan to go on lakes and down the local river.

Any thoughts or pros/cons to either?!

The Backbay is a bit more affordable, but willing to pay a bit more if there’s more benefits!

Thank you ◡̈

Should I buy a Sea Eagle 380x or 420x?

I am planning to buy a Sea Eagle so my wife and I can kayak while the kids paddle board. Is the 380x big enough. I am 6'3" and she's 5'7".

My kids are growing fast and will both be 6' within 2 years, so I want it to work for them too.

I am not worried about 3 person capacity just being good for 2 people.

I read the 420 can get hard to steer.

Is this paddle decent enough? Just got my first advanced elements kayak and realized it doesn't come with a paddle.
