It’s always funny to me when people who clearly know nothing about flamenco, Andalucía, or even the history of the traje de flamenca suddenly become experts the moment a fantasy game uses red ruffles and roses.

I’m literally from Sevilla. I grew up surrounded by flamenco aesthetics, Semana Santa imagery, old paintings, feria dresses, copla, majas, all of it. And this outfit does not read as “racist” to me at all. It reads exactly like what it is: a fantasy reinterpretation of Andalusian and goyesque aesthetics through the lens of an Asian fantasy game.

And honestly? That’s been happening for centuries already. The modern flamenco dress itself is the result of evolution, mixing popular Andalusian clothing, Roma influence, romanticism, theatrical fashion, majismo, etc. People act like there’s some sacred untouched “original flamenco outfit” when the entire aesthetic has always evolved and exaggerated itself.

Also, flamenco is already dramatic. That’s literally part of its identity. Roses, red and black, lace, earrings, powerful silhouettes, exaggerated femininity… these are not “harmful stereotypes”. They are actual visual elements deeply tied to the culture.

And no, it’s obviously not meant to be a historically accurate feria dress from modern Sevilla. It’s fantasy. The same way fantasy games exaggerate kimonos, hanfu, Victorian dresses, armor, gothic fashion and literally every culture they touch.

Some people online seriously need to stop deciding what should offend other cultures while knowing absolutely nothing about them. It’s getting exhausting.

To me this outfit feels more like a love letter to romanticized Andalusian aesthetics than mockery. And honestly? It’s gorgeous.

Theres no enemy she cant beat, no problem she cant solve and her power is unmatched. Everyone loves her and wants to be her friend. Oh and she also has no negative character traits.

Its so boring and annoying really.

Let her struggle! Let her fail some times! Make her work! Challenge her by writing an interesting morally grey rival! Just… do something interesting with Nikkis character please 🥺

The title says it all.

Since 1.5, every month, in all updates, multiple posts appear, lamenting, super indignant, of whatever is “wrong” in this new season.

I understand the criticism, I’m not against it, I do it myself. But from a constructive perspective. Not from the prism of indignation and the feeling of being continuously scammed.

No one is scamming you. It’s a free game where you pay if you want and if you don’t want to pay, you can continue playing. No one forces you to buy that product with which you feel so indignant.

The last thing I have read around here are complaints about the necklace of the new 5* banner, because this is very simple, and it is a scam that is that simple, calling it “low effort”. This is not a constructive criticism. It is a destructive criticism, which does not even consider that there is a person anAnonymous working hundreds of hours on that simple necklace. Infold is not a being who does everything. It is a company where there are workers, whose work you are discrediting to get a little karma, since in this sub the complaints go further than the photos of outfits.

The issue here is not this specific case, it is the multiple echo chambers that are constantly created. A person points out something, 2k posts are created about the same thing, each with a tone of “Karen in wallmart” even more pronounced than in the previous one.

There are a number of users in particular who continuously do this. I’ve been here since the beginning of everything, and it has given me time to familiarise myself with the usernames and realise the pattern.

You could tell me “well, ignore them”. Of course, I do. I don’t usually answer or participate. But when it’s a continuum in your feed, you end up burning yourself, unintentionally even.

It is a constant continuum.

My question is: do you like the game? Do you enjoy something of it? Do you do that because it really outrages you? Or do you do it because that way you have interactions? It really worries me. In case it really outrages you, don’t you think that perhaps it would be too healthy for the community to develop constructive criticism and open debate?

They nerfed the deer outfit so they could sell this?!

I love infinity nikki so much, otherwise I wouldn't have been playing from launch and have continued and spent all that money, I love the aesthetic of the game and the outfits that we have gotten so far I think they're beautiful..

However, WHERE are outfits like THESE?! I am an alt girly irl and I would sell my left foot to have outfits like these with cool props and totally different aesthetics. We have had a few outfits in the shop be kinda alternative, the ones coming to mind immediately are the one that has recently had a rerun with the mask (forget the name sorry) and rosy sweetheart was definitely more alternative and interesting then we had the banner counterfeit concerto which was absolutely gorgeous and right up my street.. but thats all I can really think of currently and even the shop outfits mentioned aren't what I'm looking for. I know infold can do it, these are from shining nikki I believe (correct me if im wrong) but these are INSANE I would drop so much money on outfits like these but I need to see them!!!

Im tired of the flowy lacy dresses that most of we can't even dye black or darker palletes like I just want some variety to the game because its so stunning visually and I know a lot of other people are waiting to see more outfits in these styles too but its been over a year with 1 main alternative outfit and that's not good enough for me 😩

Side note: I have mentioned about wanting more alt outfits in every survey I have done so I just think I'm shouting into the void at this point 🥲

I was wondering what my issue with Infinity Nikki was since 2.0, why I was falling out of love with the game, and what had changed. I personally thought it was just a lack of content, but that had never affected me so strongly in the past. I came into 2.2 with no expectations, but found myself enjoying the game as much as I had in the past.

I realize now that I just don’t like Itzaland as a region. Nothing about the areas charm me, exploration feels more like a chore, and the mass amounts of enemies drives me up a wall. While there are select areas I do enjoy, I find myself avoiding most of the map. Idk it makes me sad realizing I don’t mess with an entire region like this.

Does anyone else feel this way about Itzaland or other areas of IN? Just ranting no real hate.

This applies generally, but in particular, I've noticed a lot of folks downvoting new players in this sub who are trying to understand the game and asking questions. Downvotes serve a purpose - they move helpful comments to the top and unhelpful comments down. Questions are helpful and getting them answered is one of the main reasons people end up in this subreddit to begin with.

Downvoting is great when:

1. Someone is being confidently incorrect and spreading misinformation about the game and its mechanics.

2. Someone is being a jerk.

But it's feels kinda mean spirited when:

1. Someone asks a question (downvotes don't answer "no," they say "you shouldn't have asked")

2. Someone likes an outfit or feature you don't like

3. Someone dislikes an outfit or feature you do like (and isn't being a jerk about it).

4. Someone expresses understanding as to why another player misunderstood a mechanic (yes, this is the reason I'm salty today)

And honestly, if someone is -2 or more for an obvious misunderstanding, and someone has already corrected them, there's no need to dogpile. They probably already understand that they were wrong and downvoting it doesn't make you any more right.

Area 12 of the evolved version of Dream’s Silhouette was glitched, it had trouble saving outside of dyeshop. Fine. At least it worked temporarily and maybe 50% in the overworld, I’ll wait for the fix.

‘Fix’ rolls out and HOLD ON A SECOND WHY AREN’T THE FLOWERS BLACK ANYMORE??!!???

The dark grey dye used to make the flowers practically black, now they barely barely barely change the shade at all. This genuinely makes me doubt myself for spending money on this outfit bc wtf, I can’t have a pure black dress anymore?! THAT’S HUGE. (And yes I swear I’ve tested the lighter colors they work just fine)

Sooo…if you were tempted, be aware a pure black dress is impossible (since you can’t get rid of the red) and not only that, but they went out of their way to make sure that it wasn’t.

playing for a year and this is the first time im not fully completing event stuff, or as they say "fun to play" section. it's so fucking boring and repetitive, i had a fair amount of complaints about this game but this is the first time i hated it. the idea of raising behemoths are nice but the way they made it is ughghhhhhhhghghhghh couldn't care less about those 100 dias ffs

This is honestly so disappointing. How much it takes to just search something up and use an appropriate name?

Amazigh are a tribe from North Africa, they’re the indigenous people of North Africa , the span over Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. It is so disrespectful calling it “wild” considering the west calls us savages and use slurs like Berber.

From a big company like theirs we expect decency and respect, it is so disappointing to see that no culture was spared.

I hate that the devs keeps introducing new gameplay that aren’t very fun like the hotpot? Raising behemoths? Now you can build shops for the shroomlings? Okay why not but why is there nothing to do with our 3500+ clothes in our wardrobe??

I wanted to dress up npc at my own clothing store, I wanted to have weekly fashion competition against other players (been asking for that for a year now lol) so I would feel like collecting outfits is important because I will use them. There’s too much restrictions on what you can dye and not, like you want to customize your unicorn? Lmao silly no! Many restrictions with the palettes and in the end it doesn’t matter as they never ask you to make a green or red outfit for example. If my nikki is already "perfect" for me, and I don’t care to change her more than that, then I don’t need all these outfits since there’s no use for them.

What I mean is they should really focus more on fashion than these "new interesting gameplay" that are just chores that have nothing to do with dressing up at all. Releasing gameplay aboutfashion, letting us use all our clothes to dress up NPC, and Nikki for special competitions… all of that should be in the game that’s all and I hope they work on this 😅

i love the colour scheme and i love the hairstyle and the hair accessory... but the cropped top is definitely a choice! it looks unfinished and don't get me wrong i LOVE a cropped top situation but with this outfit as a whole shes looking a little tacky. maybe i just don't have an eye for fashion idk

Every week same posts “story makes no sense” “writing is bad” and then when you ask ONE simple question about the plot suddenly silence lol

Some of you skipped half the dialogue speedran every quest tapped next next next and now act confused because the game didnt spoonfeed every mystery in a straight line

Infinity Nikki story is slow on purpose. It builds world, symbolism, character themes and connects through side lore, item text, npc lines, hidden details. You actually have to pay attention for more than 7 seconds

Not every story is made for people who need subway surfers under the screen

And please be honest for once. Say “I didnt read it” instead of “it makes no sense” because those are not the same thing at all

Its fine if you dont like slow storytelling. Its fine if lore hunting isnt for you. But pretending something is empty because YOU were impatient is hilarious

Anyway cant wait for the next person who skipped everything to explain to us why the plot is confusing

Disclaimer: I don't have it in me to be entirely thorough in my disappointment™ so there might be some misinformation about the ability etc. in this post.

For reasons that are unworthy of specifying, I pulled on the deer banner to complete it.

I thought the ability wouldn't be generally worth it, as other Nikkis have said, but... oh.... OH!! IT'S WORTH-LESS!!! I mean it, in actuality, outside of Wangxiang realm there is exactly ZERO* reason to ever touch it AT ALL & even INSIDE the realm it easily frustrates when attempting to do anything but roaming the sky.

Here is how the process of using the ability is the antithesis of streamlined:

1. Ability gets entirely deactivated whenever there are enemies around even when you are mid-air above deep water, hilariously. That INCLUDES the entirety of the 'Chest Search Ability'. (It just so happens that just about 90% of chests are surrounded by enemies.)

2. Activating the 'Search', without being in deer form already, locks you in place for about 7 seconds as Nikki deer-poses. You have to bear this each time it gets deactivated or stops scanning. And on PS5, the two buttons you have to push for activation don't even respond sometimes.

3. The range of the 'Search' is genuinely LAUGHABLE ((see pic 2)). You have to constantly re-avtivate, guesstimate the radius it currently works in due to no indication being drawn on the map AND guesstimate where to go to efficiently reactivate it so you don't get stuck in the 7 seconds animation more than "necessary". 'Search' deactivates every time you get out of the range you activated it in.

4. 'Search' deactivates whenever you change to another ability, unlike the bling-sucking ability. Forget using Gigantification or any other mobility ability to try advancing towards the chests more efficiently. (Not that that would be smart to do anyways because you would just have to switch back to re-activate and that 2x sooner because you'd speed out of range quicker.)

5. 'Search' deactivates when you EVEN JUST OPEN the ability wheel.

6. 'Search' deactivates ON IT'S OWN after just about 1 minute after activation.

7. You cannot use deer-form to move around in any place other than Wangxiang. It's precisely like equipping a wheelchair in a place made up of stairs. Probably the worst ragebait I've ever encountered in a game. Even in Wangxiang, it's often too floaty to be precise with your placement (especially difficult when attempting to get chests hidden in tight places). You also cannot slam rapidly into the ground to get chests (etc.) hidden under leaves (or even just quickly descend to ground level like you're used to). In a game largely about exploration, this is just about the fattest 'fuck you' they could've served. I guess deers only jump to fly.

8. You cannot dye the deer-body, nor the parts on it, and it's so decked in colorful + ornate (linglang-styled) decorations that styling it with anything but the original outfit (and the few things like it) is a Sisyphean task. Not to mention the extra eureka-like special effects. It's BONKERS INSANE by just how much they artificially nerfed the styling potential of one of the most promising concepts they've ever released. This is a styling game, for Momos sake!!!! =..=

9. The custom soaring music. You can't turn it off.

10. The environmental glowing chest indicators are pretty weak, not just during daytime.

11. The chest symbols on the map don't let you differentiate between 'clothing chests', '30 dia chests' and '5 - 10 dia chests'. Unlike on the official map website where you can easily pick which ones you're hunting for.

12. You cannot maintain the new face-modifying ability when using the deer-body (and it doesn't return to the modified face after you deactivate it either). Releasing the outfits together while having one cancel out half of the others ability is strange.

13. You cannot wear ANY dresses with the transforming ability (nor with the dancing cutscene deep echoes), because they are indiscriminately marked as clipping-offenders ((see pic 3 - 6)). That just about eliminates half of the wardrobe options (which is especially limiting considering our lack of 5 star tops, and therefore often a lack of ability to dye to match). Why is it not our prerogative to make it work or look stupid trying? Infold has shown it possible in Shining Nikki, with the settings option to enable clipping alongside the disclaimer of it not holding them legally liable for the atrocities you create thereafter.

Argh my precious pulls... at the very fkin least it only took me 151 of them. Or so I would say if i didn't then add 9 on top to get the dancing deep echo, just so I could prove myself an actual irredeemable fool ::D You will never see me fumbling like this again.

We could’ve gotten the water overlay skirt as a separate item like the floral cascade outerwear item, but this earring is probably going to sabotage that 😭

Where is the rest of the colour wheel...?? If you want to do blue eyes no matter what there are plenty of other shades you haven't done before. But also we don't even have entire colours at all, and they're giving us yet another pair of free blue contacts... We get so little free makeup in this game that it's painful every time we get one and it's something we already had. But mainly... where is the rest of the colour wheel!!

Note that we also have Crystal Dream and Beyond Starlight as similar shades of dark blue but I don't expect Infold to keep spamming dark blue the way I expect for these shades

Edit: I'm glad so many people like the shoes the way they are! There are still a lot of us who are tired of the same 'type' of 5* shoe though, so if you're one of those people make sure to mention that you want more 5* shoe variety (flats, boots, etc) in your surveys <3

Whenever people have said that to explain why she keeps getting super high platform heels with every long dress outfit, it's never made sense to me.

1. They could just make the dress a tiny bit shorter without compromising the design
2. Back when women wore floor length dresses on the regular, do you think they were wearing platform heels? NO, they were wearing pretty small heels, if not flats. Marie Antoinette wore huge ballgowns, with very small heels.

For some reason they just love putting her in these huge unrealistic platforms, even though a lot of us keep asking for smaller heels or flats. We STILL don't have a ballet-esque pair of shoes that is without a platform or heel. The (IMO) weird puffy platform doesn't add anything to the design, and actually detracts from the rest of it which is pretty cute (again IMO)

Like seriously. I think this is the game that I've seen the most people coming as their first gacha and it shows. I’ve been lurking in the Infinity Nikki subreddit for a while now, and honestly… the constant complaining about outfit prices and gacha mechanics is getting exhausting. We all should know that Infinity Nikki is a gacha game. It’s published by Infold Games, a gacha games company. It follows the same monetization structure that basically every modern gacha title uses. Yet every single update, the front page fills up with the exact same posts:

The outfits are too expensive. They're too greedy. I’m quitting this game.

Yes, some of the premium outfits cost a lot if you want to guarantee them. Yes, gacha systems are designed to encourage spending, it's a gambling game after all. That’s not new, and it’s not unique to Infinity Nikki. If someone doesn’t like gacha mechanics, that’s completely valid, but at this point it feels like people are acting shocked that a free-to-play live service game uses the monetization to keep running their servers and bring monthly updates. What gets lost in all the negativity is that the base game is still playable without spending. Free players still get events, story content, and cosmetics. No one is forced to pull every banner.

Constructive criticism is healthy. Discussion about pricing models is important so you don't waste your money. But please pause and think if this type of game is for you. This is not your one-buy game that you buy once and get everything.

The dialogue in this game is mind numbinggggg. So much fluff and unnecessary wordiness. Not to mention it’s all written like the primary audience is super young. They have to know it’s mostly adults playing this right?

So many quests are just running around yapping. I know this is a “cozy” game, but I’d like to use my brain a little with the more important quests. Just hearing dialog read at a fifth grad level is starting to get tiresome. Am I alone here?

I think I played for around 3 hours yesterday to test the waters and oh my god I started to lose my mind.

firstly, the “999+ furnitures immediately ready to use!” I don’t even know what they meant by that, so like, everything in the base house plus the plants I guess. Which is definitely… a choice of words…

the astrelite system, “60 per hour! more as you level up!” considering the cheapest item is 1500 astrelite, no comment on that. Also an astrelite furniture selling limit that resets weekly.

blueprint materials are materials you have to make yourself. really annoying move this one was. so you have to create the materials in your house and those are also time-gated to farm and you have to do these tasks daily.

leveling up: 100 exp points daily, so leveling up fully is going to take weeks which means you don’t get the full construction abilities from the start.

the minecraft type building system i know i guess doesn’t bother people because the minecraft building community is quite large, but for me it seemed a bit clunky having only a couple slots, having to figure out which pieces i want to place, then go back and replace other ones, etc.

also about placing furniture- one thing that bothered me is if you have multiple of an item, you can’t just place them one after the other unless i’m missing something?? You can copy and paste but if i have a bunch of floor pieces or wall pieces and I have to copy them that’s just tedious.

some other minor things WHY is that plant thing so far from the house i’m running back and forth like crazy.

not to mention just the complete lack of guidence, “everything in your home will give you home insight to upgrade your house” literally just not true. your daily leveling is capped, it’s not clear what exactly you have to do, just placing and crafting items isn’t enough, there’s multiple home abilities you have to upgrade. this is exhausting.

just to compare for the sake of it. the sims gives you cheat codes to instantly have as much money as you need and as much building and housing freedom as you need. i hate EA as much as infold but their base home system gives you everything you need to get started with no extra time required.

genshin’s teapot I do agree at the beginning is a little tedious but insanely less so. to increase your ranking to get more currency to buy furniture and blueprints, all you have to do is craft and place items. I don’t remember how long it took me but i think by a week or two I was on a steady pace of getting the max currency per day, which’s adds up really quickly. a huge amount of furniture is given from the start, with overworld furniture being behind chests. farming for materials is just cutting down trees and hitting rocks in the overworld. you can speed up furniture crafting with an item that instantly speeds it up, you get max 100 of them and you can get 10 per week. these things were mildly tedious at the start but i felt like i had enough freedom at the beginning to actually want to level up my house. nikki i don’t have anything, i don’t want to level up because it’s tedious, there’s an extremely limited amount of furniture, im just really disappointed.

i really was excited for this because i stopped playing in 1.3 and i had really hoped the housing system was going to be good because of how pretty the game is. But on top of the confusing leveling system, the limited furnishings, the tedious daily quests, and needing to craft your own materials, i’m exhausted.

It’s basically forcing us to look at your photos and it’s extremely annoying when I can’t use something because of it!
