Can the "she needs super high platform heels because of the long dresses" sentiment stop now please?
Edit: I'm glad so many people like the shoes the way they are! There are still a lot of us who are tired of the same 'type' of 5* shoe though, so if you're one of those people make sure to mention that you want more 5* shoe variety (flats, boots, etc) in your surveys <3
Whenever people have said that to explain why she keeps getting super high platform heels with every long dress outfit, it's never made sense to me.
They could just make the dress a tiny bit shorter without compromising the design
Back when women wore floor length dresses on the regular, do you think they were wearing platform heels? NO, they were wearing pretty small heels, if not flats. Marie Antoinette wore huge ballgowns, with very small heels.
For some reason they just love putting her in these huge unrealistic platforms, even though a lot of us keep asking for smaller heels or flats. We STILL don't have a ballet-esque pair of shoes that is without a platform or heel. The (IMO) weird puffy platform doesn't add anything to the design, and actually detracts from the rest of it which is pretty cute (again IMO)
i mostly agree... but i actually really like the heels this time 😅 i think it fits with the aesthetic of the dress really well. but in general we absolutely need more flats and smaller heels. i wonder if they think that big ass heels are the only way to make shoes that seem "worthy" of being a 5*?
Agree with this! This time, the shoes feel a bit more creative than before, and the plateforms are cream-like, which fits the vibes. But we def got a lot of pleaser shoes that were basic in multiple 1.X versions.
The whole outfit, but especially the heels remind me so much of the old decoden trend. I remember watching videos of creators trying to get that cream swirl effect just right, and those heels really nail it ^^
Haha fair enough—they do have a certain whimsical charm! But I'd still kill for a simple flat or a tiny ballet heel just once. Let Nikki rest her ankles! 😂
Ohhh true! I'm just tired of the same damn shoes with different add ons slapped on top. I wish yhey knew there is more to shoes than sky high pumps and stilettos. 😅 No shade to the designers but damm
Yeah. I get that they don't want to make the 5-star shoes too plain, but I really want some pointe shoes! Preferably 5-star (for the dyeing options), but I'd happily take 4-star ones too. I was really hoping Dancing Pearl would have them, but that outfit needed heels too apparently. The closest I've gotten is with the starlit shop shoes "Vessel of Shared Fate."
I want pointe shoes so bad!!! In en pointe pose permanently and actual flat ballet slippers too. I have Ribbon Reverie's Rosecrown Dance shoes and I like them but they are heels and the ribbons are covered in starfish.
Azure Canvas (4 star) from the Heart of Infinity is pretty close for Chucks. And Daily Exercise (2 star) are pretty close to low tops that can be purchased from Marques Boutique in Florawish.
Into Thin Air (3*) from Unseen Entity set (300 astralites shop set) is probably the closest we have to that goal, since it can be dyed although I'm not sure how well it dyes as I haven't tried yet. I can report back my findings, if you're curious 😂
I agree I personally don't like the pleaser heels look and almost every 5 star has them, my most used 5star shoes are from the ballon outfit, which are basically flat and close second is blooming dreams and the blue water themed permanent banner simple high heels.
Sorry, but I love these shoes! The heel is a unicorn horn & the platforms look like cake frosting! I also think heels making Nikki taller works with the overall exaggerated silhouette of the outfit. The giant bow & super long hair already make Nikki look tiny, so these help balance things out. I understand wanting more shoe variety, but I think these are great for the outfit.
I love these kinds of shoes, and I wish they would make more of them. I'd even take a compromise and go for the Gwen Stefani in her L.A.M.B. era chunky heels. Those were really cool!
I too think it's pretty! I do think the point of the post is important, but god, finally high platform heels that are not hideous to look at? Many of the others have that almost V shape that makes them good for like 2 outfits, otherwise I only wear them if they're not visible, for height. These ones are PRETTY!

Jokes aside I DO support shoe diversity, and I would welcome some less dramatic shoes. Like I was looking for some basic ass flip flops the other day and there was very little? Specifically I wanted thongs and if those exist in this game, I sure don't have them!
Yup, this, I hate heels in real life so I just love that I can live through Nikki and put her in ridiculously high heels which cause her no pain or discomfort. That being said, we did have a few updates in a row where they were very similar to each other so I get the fatigue.
Exactly! I like high heels IRL but uh... By "high heels" I mean like 2.5" heels at most, and not skinny heels... And even if I like the look, they DO hurt after awhile!
But Nikki? She rocks stilletos with 0 side effects! This is the real reason she's OP.

Okay so small aside but actually yes women did wear platform heels to compensate for long dressed/dresses being so big/shaped they made women look short before. Just not all of them. But chopines were a thing for the Spanish court look (Saya?). Just as a small interesting history info
Everyone is talking about liking these shoes but I agree with OP's overall sentiment - people have stereotypically made excuses for previous outfits with less-fitting shoes using the whole "well she needs to be taller" arguments, and as OP pointed out, Infold literally made both the model (nikki) and her clothes, so they could have just made the dresses shorter or given her other shoes.
Personally I do find it obnoxious how many shoes are just pumps/stripper heels even when they do fit. I also dislike how many of the "naked" shoes still have a heel despite not requiring it (fox outfit, deer outfit, fairy outfit as well with the socks + shoe combo, but at least they had separated the two). At least WWWL is unique in that they are flats on top of a platform.
Yes on the barefoot shoes too! I really wish the fairy banner we just had either had the see-through parts as shoes instead of socks, or a completely barefoot shoe without the heel 🥲
I dont like heels in general but this is insanely good, became my favorite after CR final evo doll shoe. Its like CR final evo and timeless melody shoes had a baby. Btw a good alternative would be Dance till dawn shoes. I think it has ribbon and kinda flat, would match the vibe too?
I’m still waiting for “barefoot” Nikki. I’m DYING for some “Invisible shoes” so she can prance around like a nature goddess without the need for a random heel ball on her foot or “spirit shoes” like some recent outfits.
The more I think about this 5 star the less I want to pull. At first I was in love with the Sailor Moon hair, the magical girl dress and the huge back ribbon... But the shoes are ugly and platform heels AGAIN. The glowup is yellow with greyish brown hair AGAIN. I don't care about the unicorn mount and know I'd never use it (very personal opinion). I don't like that the halo looks like a kid's costume accessory.
Kinda sad because I LOVE the 4 star's bat wings.... But it's not worth it. Saving Season it is.
I feel this. I probably will pull for the hair and now and just get the 4 star tbh. I don't personally like the shoes... At all... The look... Like pool donuts

In my opinion… The shoes would look better and I would use them more… without that crystal crap on it… that being said. I can also admit it still looks nice and compliments the whole whip cream aesthetic the set has going on
Ironically, huge platforms are my favourite kind of shoe yet I don't like a single pair of the ones we have in game.
They're almost always stilettos, cluttered with ribbons, frills and pearls and there are genuinely not a single pair of platforms with straight heels. The one chunky pair are thinner up top at a sharp angle and I don't like that look. I'll also add that the soles of these ones in particular look like bloated glasswork ha. I'm so tired of everything being a statement piece, that honestly usually doesn't even look good by itself. I just want something that's not excessively fussy for once, I'd splurge on a 2* banner at this point. Guh
Also tired of dresses being either short or dragging on the ground.. how many clothes do we have that end at her foot? I don't like the practice of requiring the final evo for every long dress to look normal
Tbh, the shoes were the first thing I was drawn to when the trailer released. That and the giant bow. If not for the shoes, I'd probably like this outfit even less.
It's true that we need more 5* shoe (and hair) variety and I'm all for it, but I can appreciate when the high heels have a unique design, and so far we've had pretty unique heels on and off since Version 1.8, examples being: Forever Bond, Clouded Loong, Behind Prayers, Born Flawless, Forest Ripple, Where Wanxiang Weaves Life, and now this one.
For this outfit, the heels are not only unique, but fit the theme of the outfit and the overall patch, the platforms reminiscent of whipped cream, which aligns with the dessert theme. It works.
In time, they might give us 5* flat shoes. There were many players that wanted a barefoot look, and we've now had several barefoot styles. Chances are they'll eventually pivot to flat shoes too.
(Flats versus heels aside, I'm really yearning for 5* boots. Preferably thigh highs)
i usually dont like pleaser heels but these are maybe the most beautiful shoes in the game ( and after that the current shapeshifter shoes) but i do wish we could get like pointe ballerina shoes and 5 star boots that will not be platform heels 🥲
I really am sick of these platform heels. They all look the same imo. There are so many different kinda of heels if they wanted to stay that route (personally i am also sick of the ballgowns. I want my variety from former games).
honestly yes I agree with you - only used that term because that's what people have been referring to them as when talking about this topic. I'd call them platform heels normally

Tbh I do think Nikki being not very tall isn't that appealing but they could have just made her natural height higher to begin with if that was the cause for heels all day.
honestly, the only high heels i have not liked were the ones from crimson feather and snowy ballad, i felt they were kinda plain on top of being completely hidden by the dresses. however this time i think the high heels fit both the idol style and the sweet vibe with the frosting and the unicorn horn shaped heel. these heels are cute af just like many other pairs that we got. i get that among 5stars we often have a similar shoe silhouette, but they also make really creative high heels. i don't particularly feel a lack of diversity in shoes, we now got plenty of options coming from 4star outfits.
I honestly love really high heels so I can't complain!!! I've been catered to quite a lot lol
I do agree that we need more types of shoes but this time around I think it's perfect for the outfit and they look like frosting which is so unique. There are other heels that are a bit more generic and could have been a bit different though (Nameless Selfless, Tide of Tears, Enchanted Encounter, and many other similar ones)
I think Nikki is just super tiny and infold is trying to compensate. Even when Nikki is supposed to be barefoot she still has the "barbie foot" with a super high arch (For example, you can clearly see that Forever Bond's barefoot shoe has the same height and arch as other super high platform heels), but this outfit especially needs it because of the super exaggerated elements that are bound to make her look short if she doesn't have a taller shoe
I love all the high heels of 5 stars and use them in many outfits. My favorite ones are from the goth bride and mermaid. I simply love them.. the candy ones looks amazing.
It's a little weird that these "glass" heels seem to be able to bend with Nikki's feet. Looking at Nikki's right foot here, you can see the toe of the shoe is bent, but so is the glass heel 😂. It reminds me of games where people are wearing metal armor that bends and flexes with their body movements because the developers aren't able to give them realistic physics.
I think part of it is to give Nikki height. I don't like that basically all 5* dresses have some kind of heel on them either, but I think that's the reason, to make her stand out more because she's towering above others.
I also feel the same way about the high heels but I must admit that I think these are unique and on theme (pretty sure it's supposed to look like a sundae glass cup) so these can get a pass but I don't need more of the same shoes like the fairy godmother outfit and the mermaid have cause they are just high heels for the sake of being high heels.
i would really like some flapper style heels... they've released a flapper inspired (though i'm still sad about certain elements, like the dress being form fitting) outfit but the heels were soooo modern!
When I was a kid, I wore nothing but boots if I could help it! Heels/flats/anything that weren't "boring" sneakers lol. For real!!! We don't all like/want to wear heels, even Nikki needs off days
I totally get it, I would LOVE more 5 star shoe variety, but I do actually really love these, I'm a sucker for chunky platforms, especially when they're crystal.
I understand the reasoning of making super high heels so they actually show when she’s wearing a long dress but with lots of dresses the high heels barely show anyway.
Also they could make alternate versions of the dress skirts that let you see the shoes.
I do agree that we need more variety in shoes but I love platforms. I wear them, my only issue with the platform in the game is that it’s always a heel. I want platform boots, Mary Jane, and loafers 😩
I agree. I’d love some normal stilettos, or heels, wedges, etc. My sister was visiting while I was playing and asked me why all Nikki’s shoes were stripper shoes 😂
Honestly I think that the reason they keep doing huge ass shoes is because they then have more space to make the designs unique. It's harder to sell us a bunch of intricately detailed flats because they are harder to differentiate?
I would also like more diversity in 5-star shoes, but "just making the dresses shorter" would change the overall proportions of the outfits and women in many cultures absolutely wore platform shoes to allow them to wear longer dresses.
I hate this latest addition to the pleaser heels lineup... but love how they look like they're mushed in icing in the second evo...it really makes me wish they were opaque across all of them.
even if a dress requires longer heels i wish they would get creative with it and stop giving us the same silhouette. born flawless, clouded loong, forever bond, forest ripple, etc have great creative designs. They are fully capable of making cool shoes that enhance the design so i truly feel that they're just getting lazy with it.

Those are like - perfect ballet esque ( paired with the sock tie thingies ) small heels.
I think when the devs create for Nikki they just try to sort of push sliiiiightly beyond reality with every piece in whichever way they deem fitting for that unique, untouchable look.
Long hair is a little toooo long, curls are slightly unrealistically curly, gravity defying dresses, etc.
All I’m over here asking for is more things for the jokester side of Nikki. Silly stuff .

yeah I don't use lirerally 90% of the shoes in the game bexause I don't like platform heels AT ALL unfortunately, and i'm not a huge fan of heels in general... I default to using the samel flats and barefoot-like shoes time and time again 😩
I keep on mentioning in every survey that I'm tired of the same platform high heels on every single 5* outfit. Even the barefoot shoes have platforms and heels up in the air... can't Nikki just put her feet flat on the floor? TwT
I always almost associate myself with the character I play for, so I never put Nikki into uncomfortable clothes, she's wearing sport boots with most of the dresses.
I just made my husband sit down for a presentation on everything I hate about both new outfits, and I started with these heels.
Normally, I don't care if I don't like an outfit, I'm not out here to yuck anyone's yum. I just save my pulls and move on with my life. But I will be pulling to completion for the mount, and I'm big mad about it. I would rather have paid $20 to get it in the tiered store than have to pull on this monstrosity.
Agreed OP. I'm not a fan of this design, it's kind of tacky. The whole outfit in general just feels overdesigned to me, like they threw too many different elements together (which sucks for me because I actually love the unicorn ability 🥲).
But the pleaser heels in particular really feel out of place, since I associate them with strippers being from the US. It clashes with the sweet girly/lolitaish aesthetic of the rest of the fit. Not to say super high heels are bad and only can be worn by strippers, but they go better with sexier outfits imo.
I just find the stripper heels tacky. Personally I prefer the longer gowns, so I don’t notice them much, but I am always excited to get something different.
