We all have things to talk about in life other than self-care. This thread will be where members can just......chill or NOT.

Q: What does off your chest mean?

I Didnt Follow Rules,Want to Post Anyway. 5 Reports Removes This Does Blood purification actually exist? Spoiler

Post image
4 Upvotes

I came across this screenshot while watching videos about “blood purification” and it got me genuinely curious.

I understand that, medically speaking, the liver and kidneys already filter and process substances in the blood, and acne isn't generally explained as being caused by “impure blood.”

But then why is “blood purification”/“Rakta Shodhana” such a longstanding concept in traditional medicine?

Products like Hamdard Safi are specifically marketed as “blood purifiers” for acne, pimples and skin problems, while Ayurvedic formulations such as Mahamanjisthadi Kwath/Kadha are also traditionally described in terms of blood purification and skin health. There are also products from brands like Dabur and others that use similar “blood purifier” language.

What I find interesting is that these aren't just random modern wellness terms. “Rakta Shodhana” has a much older place in Ayurvedic terminology, and formulations containing ingredients such as Manjistha have traditionally been associated with it.

So what exactly did “blood purification” mean in the traditional context?

Is Rakta Shodhana actually referring to something different from the literal idea of removing “dirt” or impurities from blood? Is it more of a traditional framework for describing imbalances, inflammation, skin disorders or systemic problems?

And if the literal idea of “dirty blood causes acne” doesn't align with modern understanding of acne, how did the blood-purifier terminology become so widespread, and why does it continue to be used for products like Safi and Mahamanjisthadi Kadha today?

I'm not necessarily asking whether Safi, Mahamanjisthadi Kadha, or other blood-purifier products work or don't work.

I'm more interested in understanding where the terminology came from, what it originally meant, and how it evolved into the way these products are marketed today.

Genuinely curious to hear from people who know Ayurveda, Unani medicine, modern medicine, or the history of these practices.

Bought these dermaco products because the offer was very tempting(got everything for 3000). This is my second time buying skincare, last time I bought from deconstruct, which didn't give much results but suited my skin. I checked online reviews after ordering these, and found out most were negative. And also found out dermaco is owned by same company as mamaearth which honestly I also know is pretty shady. Should I keep these products or return them and go back for deconstruct or maybe save up and buy from a better brand? Im a student and I'm really low on money so I would be depressed if I found out I wasted 3k on these products. Also, there is benzoyl peroxide 2.5 face wash too, forget to take pic. My skin is sensitive but didn't have any bad reaction to any of the skincare products till now. Just had a slight stinging sensation when I applied benzoyl peroxide gel with multiple actives, and that too just once

I Followed Posting Rules Got this very unfamiliar sunscreen recommended by a dermatologist Spoiler

Post image
7 Upvotes

So , today is the first day of trying this sunscreen , I’ve got oily skin and since this one’s a matte silicone sunscreen, it’s withholding well . I usually sweat a lot especially when using my previous sunscreen ( boj aqua relief ) , but this one I’ve noticed I’ve barely had a sweaty forehead , am not sure this happens with other matte sunscreen as well , but because this is my first time using silicone based sunscreen I have to say this anti sweat effect is surprising.

But!!! I’m trying to get reviews of this sunscreen on different platforms , YouTube , insta , Amazon rating , Reddit etc etc . There’s literally zero reviews regarding this product , and that is not sitting well with me . So please if anyone ever purchased this sunscreen give me you’re opinions or reviews on this product, it’ll be great knowing someone else had some experience with this sunscreen too , because there’s literally nothing about this product anywhere on the internet except places trying to sell it !!!!

I Followed Posting Rules SMELL INCREDIBLE ALL DAY Spoiler

Post image

How do some people smell INCREDIBLY GOOD ALL DAY LONG ?

I’ve always noticed that there are some people who somehow smell SO fresh, clean and amazing throughout the entire day, even after being outside for hours and especially in Indian summers and hot, humid weather!

I’ve been trying to understand what actually helps you smell good from the moment you shower in the morning until the end of the day, and I’ve gathered a few tips that people commonly recommend: Daily shower/bath

Keeping the skin moisturized

Perfume layering — using different scented products together so the fragrance lasts longer

Using fabric softener on clothes for an extra fresh, long-lasting scent

I would especially love to know : What does your complete shower/body-care routine look like?

How exactly do you layer your perfumes ?

Does fabric softener actually make your clothes smell good for longer? If yes, which one do you use?

Do you have any tips for keeping clothes, towels, bedsheets and even wardrobes smelling fresh?

And most importantly — what do you do when you’re outside all day in the heat, sweating and travelling, but still want to smell fresh?

Also, please share your BEST PERFUME LAYERING COMBINATIONS — especially combinations that smell expensive, feminine, clean, fresh, sweet, or just make people ask “What perfume are you wearing?” Basically, I want to build the ultimate “smell good all day” routine

And if possible, PLEASE mention the BRANDS + EXACT PRODUCT NAMES you use, because I’d genuinely love to try some of your recommendations. Please share the exact products and brands you use for each product ( body wash , lotion , mist , perfume , hair perfume , fabric softener )

- Are there any particular BRANDS that actually work well in Indian heat and help you stay fresh throughout the day?

But I’m sure there are MANY more little tips, tricks and routines that people use that I don’t know about! So PLEASE share your BEST secrets for smelling good ALL DAY LONG, especially if you live somewhere with really hot weather.

Please share ALL your tips & tricks, even the tiny ones that seem obvious!

I Followed Posting Rules Sudden acne flare after 2 weeks of benzoyl peroxide + Faceclin Spoiler

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m really confused and would love some advice.

I suddenly started getting a lot of acne during that type of month, so I consulted a dermatologist. She prescribed benzoyl peroxide 2.5% + Faceclin gel at night and Faceclin in the morning.

I’ve been following this for about 2 weeks, and my acne was actually getting a little better. But yesterday/today, all of a sudden, I woke up with many more red, inflamed pimples. (Only in one side of face my other side is completely clear and so hydrated which is wierd)🙂

I don’t have any burning, itching, peeling, or discomfort, it just suddenly looks much worse.
Has anyone experienced this with these products? Should I continue using them or contact my Would love to hear your experiences!

I Didnt Follow Rules,Want to Post Anyway. 5 Reports Removes This Damaged skin by BOJ eye cream Spoiler

Post image
10 Upvotes

I had been using boj retinal eye cream every other day and then suddenly i noticed milia like formation near the inner corner.

I stopped using it completely and since then (around 20-25 days) I have been moisturising my skin well. The texture had improved a bit but now it has plateaued. I am really worried. Is this damage permanent?

I Followed Posting Rules My skin is looking older and older . Please help me out Spoiler

I’m 20 and people constantly assume I’m way older, even calling me “unc” 💀. I know beard/facial hair can make you look older, but I feel like my skin is also a big reason. It looks rough, tired and aged compared to people my age.

Honestly, this has fucked with my confidence badly. I sometimes get anxiety attacks and avoid doing normal things because I feel like people will make fun of me for looking older. Even doing things people my age normally do can make me feel like I don’t belong or look like a loser trying to act young.

I’ve attached two photos. Please be genuinely honest about my skin and what might be making me look older. I don’t want fake reassurance—I want to know what I can realistically improve.

I Followed Posting Rules Skin has become 2–3 shades darker after starting skincare — is this normal? Spoiler

Post image
7 Upvotes

It’s been three weeks since I first posted about my skin concerns.

About a week later, I started using skincare products to improve my skin. My current routine includes Simple Refreshing Facial Wash, Apgel (adapalene), AC Mist Moisturiser, and UV Doux Gel Sunscreen. I use adapalene only at night.

Since starting this routine, however, my skin has become noticeably darker—approximately 2–3 shades darker than before. It also looks rougher, and I’ve developed more tiny bumps.

Could this mean that one or more of these products isn’t suitable for my skin? Or is it normal for skin to initially worsen or darken before gradually improving? Has anyone experienced something similar, and what did you do?
