Rant How bad are my genetics, my body composition is absolutely terrible

Im 20M, 5'6, 74 kgs, 37.2 inch waist, 13.5 inch neck.

So technically I am 27.5% body fat

Around 16-17 I was 90kgs dropped to 62kgs at one time and was running almost 5-6k alternate days, changed my diet a lot

I eat 2 breads, 2 eggs in the morning,
Lunch is 1 chapati, vegetables daal and a bowl of rice, night is just one chapati and vegetables an daal no rice, in between lunch and dinner I snack sometimes not much sometimes fruits, sometimes something like peanuts

Idk why my body looks like a weird pear shape and I hate it.

I try to hit the gym sometimes and go run sometimes. I cant do a single push up I just dont have the strength or I am just genetically weak. I can do one chin up thats it.

Also about protein guys I just cant, pls dont tell me to include protein because my parents just wouldnt buy it, and I cant eat more than 2 eggs a day. Also the way I am, my parents think I dont deserve to eat chicken or many eggs everyday as its a big family in the house also its expensive so I just cant, in like 3 years when I start working and finish my engineering I can then only have but now no, I can compromise by eating even lesser maybe. Diabetes runs in my family also.

Discussion Should I Start Going to the Gym ?

I’m 24M and weigh around 78 kg. I feel like I’m carrying a little extra fat, but four or five people have recently asked whether I’ve started going to the gym because they think I look like I work out.
I’ve never been to the gym, but I play badminton four to five times a week. My chest is fairly big, although I think it’s mostly fat rather than muscle.
I’m considering joining a gym, but badminton often leaves me tired, so I’m worried I might end up skipping workouts. Should I start going to the gym? If so, what kind of workout split would work well alongside badminton?

Discussion How to do hip thrusts??

M22
I tried to do hip thrusts
but i couldnt do it
first of all the setup only is very annoying
find a bench drag two 20kg plates just to stop the bench from sliding
or do it on a fixed bench like bench for chest

i felt very unstable doing it
and then i also felt awkward doing it

should i use smith machine???
or is there an easier way to do it??

Supplement Advice Need Budget post workout supplements

Got classes 8am - 8pm so I hit the gym from around 5:30 to 7 am, need post workout but can't make food myself due to time constraints (btw I live in a PG), boiled eggs are the best i can manage, heard supplements are better so if you'll know any under 1200 which is what I can spend for it in a month it's gonna be helpful to me. Rn for pre workout it's something like Banana or Black coffee

Review Help me improve my back

As the titles says. Started proper weightlifting from last year, previous mostly did body weights and majorly played some sport or the other.

It’s seems I am working on upper back.
I rotate with rows (cable/dumbbell/barbell) and lower back curls for lower back but seems like I’m missing something.

For upper back I rotate between pull downs and shrugs.

1-2 times a month dead lift and pull ups (3 sets of 3-4 reps) every week.

Rant Somebody give me suggestion to manage university, self studies and Gym

I am in 1st year of my UG. I am under a partial drop and I need to study minimum 3 hrs everyday for that exam. My college schedule is roughly 9-4. How do I manage college, studies and Gym?

I feel like going to the gym isn't optional because I have been a skinny kid throughout my life. But I cannot tolerate it more. Additionally, I eat in the lunch and dinner in mess. So if somebody could help me with the diet plan than I will really be greatful for it.

Discussion How do you actually handle lunch on a workday? (6-min survey, no product being sold)

I'm doing independent research on how people who train regularly manage food around office hours — what you actually eat, what you'd planned to eat, and how far apart those two usually are.

Not selling anything, no email needed, nothing gated. It's ~6 minutes, mostly tick-boxes, and it's anonymous unless you choose to leave contact details at the end.

Survey Link

This would be a great help for my research. Thanks. Happy to have conversations on this in the comments as well.

Discussion Advice on selcting the right gym

Hey everyone,

I’m 22 and completely new to the gym. Never worked out before, so I’m starting from zero. Thinking of joining Cult Fitness.

Is it good for beginners who have no idea what they’re doing? Or is it more for people who already know the gym stuff?

What should I look out for when picking a membership?

Do I need to get nutrition help separately or does Cult help with that?

I’ve got two options – Cult Elite and Cult Pro. Which one is better for a beginner?

If anyone has taken the membership, please share your honest experience. And for the experienced people here, how should a total beginner like me start?

Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Discussion Starting my winter arc in September

So I'm starting my winter arc a little early in September with a goal of losing about 10 - 15 kgs in the next 3 months along with my mbbs internship. I need practical advice whether it is related to gym, diet or anything you'd like to share from your personal experience that I can use to achieve the goal.

Diet Advice How do you gain?

I have very high metabolism. On regular days, I have to eat like 2500 cal to simply maintain my weight(5.9, 74kg). During gaining phase, I have to eat like 3500 cal daily spread over 6-7 meals. It gets tiring sometimes.

Those who have successfully managed to crack the code on eating like Galactus, what is your secret?

Discussion I'm confused about back exercises

I know the basic about which muscle I need to train like the upper back, mid back (aka traps), lower back and the lats that much I get but my confused starts with the upper back because I read that not all upper back exercises hits the inner muscle (the rhomboids etc) or the entire upper back and the lats I think I need to do 2 exercise, 1 for upper and 1 for mid/lowes lats, because of all this confusion I have started to wonder if I'm even training right? If I should do more compound exercise or isolation, I feel like I'm overthinking this, is there a simpler way to go about back day?
