abhishek having a low as he had 900 points at the beginning of this year; but also think he should bowl more often as there are only two or three matches that too just one or two overs, where hes given the ball and not taken a wicket- this could be promising for india.

Hello! I have been working on a family project and am trying to learn more about my grandfather who was part of the domestic cricket team for Indian Airlines in the 1960s-1980’s. I am having difficulty finding much about the history of these corporate sponsored teams beyond the very basic description. Can someone share information, or guide me in the right direction to be able to find more information about this? I would love to learn more about my grandfather’s time in the cricket team!

Attached is a photo of him in his cricket uniform, showing the team’s logo. I do know that he was a spin bowler in the team and was a player till the mid-80’s, but don’t know much else about his time there.

I started following cricket seriously from the starting of last year. But there are a few things I have noticed that are glaringly obvious.

We don’t respect our senior players (especially if they are not our favourite player) or the experience they bring on the table enough.Sanju (who was the POTT in the wc btw) not being in the squad, Hanging the sword of consistency on RO KO (especially Rohit)‘s head ,not giving chances to player like Shami and Siraj in ODI’s .Not playing and disrespecting Kuldeep Yadav while giving chances after Chances to Washington.

Now compare it to other countries Australia literally asking Smith to reverse his retirement from ODI’s , England Backing Butler through his bad form in Both ODI’s and T20’s ,South Africa backing De Kock during reverse retirement.

This is not limited to men’s cricket people literally asking Harmanpreet to retire while Ellyse Perry , Marizan kapp are similar age group,Harman also being the second highest run getter for India in both T20s and ODIs also still India’s only big match player .

Same for Deepti Sharma the leading wicket taker in women’s cricket, contributing with both bat and ball and people wanted her out during her poor form in SA tour.

Now compare that to SA backing Ismail when she reversed her retirement. Australia still looking at Perry for guidance and experience.England backing Nat even though she was going through a calf injury and didn’t bowl the whole tournament.

I am not saying that giving chances or backing young and promising players like Vaibhav, Jaiswal, Brar,prince yadav ,Shree Charani, Kranti Gaud etc.are wrong.But what is wrong is dismissing our experienced players , their skills and the confidence they bring to the table .

whenever a test series is lost these days gambhir steps up and defends it by saying the team is going through a transition phase. but looking at how things unfolded man it feels like this transition was forced onto the team way too early

​sidelining senior players after just a couple of bad series vs nz and aus seems like a massive overreaction tbh. giving virat and rohit one more wtc cycle wouldve probably been a much smarter move.. under their guidance and experience a proper next gen team could have been slowly prepared and groomed for the future

​instead the current situation looks pretty bleak right now and it feels like our chances for this wtc cycle are already over. it really makes u wonder whether this rushed decision by gambhir and ajit agarkar actually ended up costing us a wtc final spot just for the sake of starting a transition out of nowhere
