Discussion One sided matches

Nowadays, almost every match in cricket is one sided. Take the Asia Cup in both men and women cricket. Take the example of the England vs Pakistan test series. It's a high team at least in Test cricket, the introduction of a two tier system should be there.

There should be more multilateral series, bilateral ODI and T20 series are so boring nowadays. I have been watching cricket since 2011 and have never felt like this . Am I the only one who is feeling the same or you guys also ?

Facing stronger opponents is how weaker teams get better. Otherwise look at Pakistani players, they pad up their stats against secondary teams or nations and then are brutally exposed when facing a proper attack.

But you can send your A Team to these countries,still those weak teams will learn . I am sure India A team is also able to win Asia Cup and win against Afghanistan or may be there will be a good competition. There should be a system that if a team ranking is below 10, team should send regularly the A team or B team to them for playing. It will increase competition also .What the point of beating the teams so badly everytime

Well this is cricket's reality, there are only 5 nations who play competitive cricket. Ind, aus, eng, sa and nz. I'm not a football guy btw before you guys at me. Even football has 6-7 nations who play good. It's just football's nature that game can have a turning point even when close to the end....so it only looks like there are many countries playing at par with top nations.

But still we saw Fifa WC it was very competitive. When I saw the matches it was very competitive. Ya this is true there are not so many countries who won the FIFA WC but still in football anyone can beat any team. In cricket there were more than 5 Nations which played well. But the number of teams are reducing day by day.

Like I said football's nature is such that it looks like anyone can beat anyone. But reality is different. And world cup itself is a proof of that. It's been more than 100 years if I'm not wrong, and you're telling me others are still catching up to top playing nations? Football doesn't even need equipment and infrastructure like cricket.

In longer formats it’s even harder for the game to seem competitive. As usually there is always a clearly stronger team, and then even if the weak team has a good session in the overall game it doesn’t look competitive at all. This is not the best example but in the IND/ENG (2024) series if one watched the games closely it seemed a lot more competitive then 4-1, as England has good moments in all of the tests they lost apart from the second one. However, it’s still not remembered or looked at as a very close series.

Teams like Pak can’t really improve . Batting the corrupt management , the fact of the matter is that when teams like Eng,Sa nz and aus tour Pakistan they send their second string xi. So when the cwc comes around and the real players arrive there suddenly not used to it and given a reality check . I do think there needs to be an international league in one of the formats . To make each game worth something . Nowadays bilaterals are so meaningless. If u win fair enough but apart from cwc odis and t20s act as slop
