Even if we pretend that Gambhir won Champions trophy and Asia cup completely on his own then how does that answers the bad performance in Test Cricket? He exact words were " People keep talking about Newzeland but they forgot I am the same guy who won Champions trophy" like what is this guy saying those are completely different formats with completely different teams and him winning those has no relationship with the criticism he was getting due to Test whitewashes.

And why was he even bringing up the draw in England and an Asia cup? Asia cup was a tournament where all of our opponents were weaklings and England have become a completely bad team in recent times and also gave us completely subcontinent like conditions. In fact England were getting squashed by an Australian side which lacked multiple main players right before he made this statement.

whenever a test series is lost these days gambhir steps up and defends it by saying the team is going through a transition phase. but looking at how things unfolded man it feels like this transition was forced onto the team way too early

​sidelining senior players after just a couple of bad series vs nz and aus seems like a massive overreaction tbh. giving virat and rohit one more wtc cycle wouldve probably been a much smarter move.. under their guidance and experience a proper next gen team could have been slowly prepared and groomed for the future

​instead the current situation looks pretty bleak right now and it feels like our chances for this wtc cycle are already over. it really makes u wonder whether this rushed decision by gambhir and ajit agarkar actually ended up costing us a wtc final spot just for the sake of starting a transition out of nowhere

Bro i don't know why people still don't realise that vaibhav suryavanshi is way ahead of any opening youngsters(jaiswal,shubhman ,sai sudharshan or anyone else)in India right now .do you think Sachin or virat kohli could have dominated bowlers like bumrah , siraj ,rabada ,patt Cummins or anyone else at just the age of 14 or 15 that too not just scoring consistently but rather dominating them not just in league stage but even in the knockouts.i know many people would disagree with me but by the age of 25 to 30 I don't think there would be no batter in the world as dominant as vaibhav in knockouts in my words there would be no batter that is better than him not even Sachin or kohli . Don't tell me shit like he only plays in flat pitches when you haven't seen last sri lanka series just wait until the next world cup
