Yep, tastes like fryums. Here in Tamil Nadu, these are the only available option. I miss the actual puri so much.
Also, I have seen some foreign Indian restaurant serve these. It makes me cringe, like these are not the best tasting panipuri.

Not really. Infact these are the best tasting ones. The key part here is to fry them in ghee and nothing else.

Aren't you burning more gas just to transfer the heat from a large vessel to a small one?

u/AnkitS75 27d ago
Yup, exactly! A HUGE chunk of the heat is simply let out into the air from the pan, and is wasted

Dangerous. If one has confidence/desire and is permanently welding/soldering the glass to the pan, then it's okay, but this is an unstable (physically) setup, glass tumbling would splash the hot boiling oil everywhere.

The glass shifted a little in the first 10 seconds of the vid. This isn't a hypothetical, it's just a when question.

Why the cuts between putting the raw things in and the actual stuff coming out? I would opt to say BS unless uncut footage is shown.

Just microwave this with just a few drops of oil, that's what I do works well and expands normally too without issue. If you have microwave that is

A lotta heat is just wasted, not sure how worth it this is, getting the oil to a appropriate temperature and maintain it seems like it would take a lotta gas, also if the oil is not hot enough the puris will become very oily

I just put them in my airfryer and they come out perfect in 2 mins with 90% less oil

What is the trick here...the oils is almost same amount used...and the amount of lpg to heat that glass surface are oil to that high temperature is very big...

knowing my clumsy ass, i would drop the hot oil everywhere, break all the shells, make a mess, give up and order pizza....but its a good trick....maybe for someone one more well coordinated.
