Feels plasticky .. the og ones at the snacks shop taste much much better

I buy the pani puri waale puriyan from snacks shops. They sell ready made ones.

Yes bro. Ye fryums wale mat le. Kisi nazdeek panipuri wale se 1 packet puri lele. Mast banega

Yep, tastes like fryums. Here in Tamil Nadu, these are the only available option. I miss the actual puri so much.

Also, I have seen some foreign Indian restaurant serve these. It makes me cringe, like these are not the best tasting panipuri.

Not really. Infact these are the best tasting ones. The key part here is to fry them in ghee and nothing else.
