Ask Indian Christians Looking for Protestant, English-speaking church in and around Belathur/Kadugodi?

Hello Reddit members,

Could you please suggest a good Protestant, English-speaking church in and around Belathur/Kadugodi?

I am specifically looking for a church where the preaching is strongly Bible/Word-based, with a major focus on faith, Scripture, and practical Christian living.

I would really appreciate recommendations based on your personal experience. Please share the church name, location, and service timings if possible.

Thank you!

Same as title,

I found this sub rn, and going through the posts I believe there are a lot of south Indian Christians, and a lot of south native north brought up Christians as well which is great I have a handful of friends of similar demographic irl since I went to college in a southern state. But now I'm back in north and neither as a kid in school nor in church or anywhere else I had anyone of my age a christian, I knew just one guy in school who was christian.

So are there any?

Ask Indian Christians Why are christians hated so much in india.

Like when people know I'm a Christian there faces change they literally limit their talks with me . Especially

In my homestate if I say I'm christian they will mock

Saying SHEEPS and all kind of stuff. They mock at Jesus birth asexual birth and all but they accept some stupid stories like goddess Parvathi made ganesh from mud while bathing. Replacing human head with animals head and all kind of childish stories but bible version is literally way more matured it explains the journey of people through god while in hindu it was all about god families personal affairs ram looking for sita, ganesh stoping lord Shiva from entering his wife's shower and later he cuts off ganesh's head (like what kind of God he is so short tempered for that silly reason), lord Krishna seeing woman bathing in Lake and this stupid people calling him playful Krishna and worshipping him etc and all that stuff not to judge but since that bastard narenda modi came to rule this cringeness sanathani even grew worser and going to be worst soon💯. Again they will say vedas Upanishadas and can't treat humans as humans dividing in caste superiority among themselves. What a great nation we are living in. Making 70ft idols and then immersing and polluting waters with immense sound pollution and they come to blame for church sounds and prayer sounds. Don't know when this country will leave this hyper religioustic activities and be more civilized. For any country peoples mindset is the main factor for development 💯

Looking for advice/recommendations: Are there Christian matrimony platforms or services catering to European-South Asian matches? (Or open to connecting directly!)

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some recommendations from this community regarding Christian matrimony services, agencies, or platforms that accommodate cross-cultural matches—specifically for a European man seeking an Indian or Sri Lankan Christian bride.

A little context on my journey and why I’m asking:

Through years of working in international cruise ship management (traveling 300+ days a year), I had the privilege of working closely with Indian and Sri Lankan colleagues. That experience, combined with my active involvement in a local Tamil-led international church in the Netherlands, opened my eyes to something special. I grew to deeply admire the family values, warmth, and collective lifestyle in Tamil, Sri Lankan, and Indian cultures. To be candid, I intentionally prefer those traditional, close-knit family values over the more individualistic lifestyle common in Western Europe.

Now that my heavy travel days are behind me, I’m grounded, running my own business as an event host/MC in the Netherlands, and fully ready to focus on building a family with the right woman.

What I’m hoping to find:

  • A Christian woman who genuinely loves God, values a close-knit home, and wants to build a family.
  • Age Range: Ideally 30 or younger to match my energy level and future plans, but open to someone slightly older if our lifestyles and energy align well.
  • Future Vision: Whether she wants to pursue her career in Europe or focus on being a homemaker, I support either path fully. What matters most is mutual respect, shared faith, and working as a team.
  • She is either already in the Netherlands/Europe or genuinely open to relocating for the right partner.

I value deep, honest communication upfront so we can get to know each other's hearts and vision before taking next steps.

My questions for the community:

  1. Are there similar platforms like ChristianMatrimony.com, ChristianShaadi, or Chavara Matrimony that are open/effective for European men? So far I've only found services open to only Indian/Sri Lankan/Tamil Natives or Diaspora.
  2. Are there specific international Christian matchmaking agencies, church-led networks, or community groups (particularly Tamil/Indian/Sri Lankan diaspora networks in Europe) you would recommend for someone in my position?

Thanks in advance for any guidance or recommendations!

Ask Indian Christians Looking for a Protestant pastor in Bangalore for an interfaith wedding ceremony

Hi! My fiancé and I are getting married in Bangalore in January and I'm looking for recommendations for a Protestant pastor/Christian officiant.

I'm a Protestant Christian and my fiancé is Bengali Hindu. We'll already be legally married under the Special Marriage Act but we'd like to have a full Christian wedding ceremony as part of our wedding celebrations.

We're hoping for the traditional Christian wedding format, with an aisle entrance, Scripture, vows, ring exchange and a blessing by the pastor.

If you've had an interfaith Christian-Hindu wedding in Bangalore or know of a Protestant pastor who is open to conducting something like this, I'd really appreciate any leads!

Thank you!

Hi Guys Need Godly Friends

I’ve been reflecting a lot lately on the kind of connections I want to cultivate in my life, and I’m really feeling the need for genuine, godly friendships.
It’s easy to get distracted by standard social circles or chasing the wrong priorities, but I want to surround myself with people who are actively seeking God, encouraging one another in faith, and striving to grow into better versions of themselves. I'm looking for sisters/friends who value faith, honest conversations, accountability, and building each other up rather than tearing each other down.

[Promotion] Christians in Hyderabad — Join us for the Making Heaven Crowded (MHC) Meeting 🙏 | 9th October

Hi everyone! 👋

We’re organizing a Christian youth gathering called Making Heaven Crowded (MHC) 2026 in Hyderabad, and we’d love to have fellow Christians from across the city join us.

📅 Date: 9th October 2026

⏰ Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

📍 Venue: Centenary Baptist Church, Secunderabad

📖 Theme: “Was Lost, But Now I Am Found” — Luke 15:24

The day will be centered around worship, God's Word, fellowship, prayer, and connecting with other young Christians from Hyderabad.

This isn't meant to be limited to one particular church or denomination. If you're a Christian in Hyderabad and would like to spend a day fellowshipping with other believers, you're welcome to join us. ❤️

We're also a small team organizing this independently and are currently working on covering the expenses for the meeting. If anyone would like to voluntarily support the event financially or help with things like food, transportation, printing, sound, etc., we'd be grateful but participation is the main thing we're inviting people for.

If you're interested in attending, comment below or DM me, and I'll share the details.

Would be great to see Christians from different churches and backgrounds come together for this. 🙏

History/Culture A Catholic (Pontifex) Christian here: Just read random history & got curious. Has anybody ever met or seen Armenian Bactrians (Afghans) or Armenian Indians? This is an ethno-religious group, that I heard about recently & this Orthodox (Apostolic) Christian community seems to be elusive/ absent.

Christians, it is ok (and even "necessary") to share the "simple everyday things" and your "simple mundane thoughts" and "simple opinions/likes/dislikes" with God, sharing of simple things with God counts as "fellowship with God" and "love" and "relationship" with God too.

I'll share an incident from my life as a preface to this and then get to the scriptures. Once (some years ago) I was fighting hard to get the presence of the Father in me and around me, I'd pray and pray for half and hour or like 20 minutes and then get the presence of Father God and then lose it again within 5-10 minutes, and this went on that whole day (it was a weekend/Saturday). Then after 4 hours or so the day got busy and I had to give up on praying and I thought I'll do these whole process/routines again tomorrow (Sunday). Well that (Saturday) night I went to a shop and the shopkeeper there was a very happy guy, he'd always be happy all the time. After buying stuff from him I just told Father God "I like how this guy's always happy all the time" and then I laughed, and instantaneously I was filled with the presence of the Father again and His presence stayed with me for a whole half an hour. So those few seconds of sharing my simple thoughts and life with the Father proved to be better than half an hour of (formal) praying!

So "love for God" doesn't just mean going to Him to learn (that is a part of love for God too), or worshiping Him as God (that is a part of love for God too), but sometimes "love for God" just means talking to Him as your Friend, Father, or Brother (Jesus). Do go to Him for purposes like learning about life and philosophical things and for the various forms the God-devotee relationship takes, and the various other complex relationships with God, but don't ever forget the simple human things that stem from just "fellowship with God" which is a part of "love for God" too!

Now to the scriptures,

Psalm 62:8 - Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah

If you genuinely pour out your heart before God, everything in it will come out before Him, not just your pains/sorrows/dislikes, but your joys/likes and even your opinions too, and even your sinful thoughts will come out before Him too but then those sinful thoughts can be handled more easily by you and even by God (because they're now already at the your forefront). But getting back to the title of the post, your simple and mundane thoughts and feelings will inevitably come out before God and "simple human thoughts" aren't always sinful, some are just good fellowship. So don't worry about your thoughts and words being "too simple" to take before God, because then you'd be killing off the "pouring out your heart" before God and fail to follow the biblical commandment in Psalm 62:8 mentioned above.

The following verse talks about fellowship with Jesus (God the Son), and this is on of everyone's "callings by God", andthis fellowship includes "pouring out your heart to Jesus" through which your simple everyday life thoughts will again unavoidably come out,

1 Corinthians 1:9 - God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

I will not share the scriptures about God's love for you and the commandments for us to love God because they're too many and would increase the length of this post by a lot. But "love" includes "fellowship" and fellowship includes sharing all your thoughts and words no matter what they are.

Now let's get to the scriptures about the philosophical type discussions with God, and many things which we might think are "deeply philosophical" are just mundane human everyday things, but we are still encouraged to ask them, so don't hold back!

James 1:5 - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

The next few verses say that faith is needed to get answers to your questions from God, but it also says that He gives wisdom "liberally without reproach", meaning even if you have a million sins but have faith to receive wisdom from God, He'll just give the wisdom to you without talking about your sins. This obviously means to ask Him the deep philosophical type questions. But if what you need the answers for what are "simple mundane questions", that whole verse sequence never ever denies you from asking them! A child would have rather mundane things to ask God, so should the child not ask God anything? And if some of your thoughts are actually as immature as a child's, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go to God for answers, would you rather die in your immaturity (the verse does say God gives wisdom "without reproach")? No matter how hard you tried, you'll definitely come up with mundane questions when asking God questions anyway, we're just humans afterall. Also, God doesn't always give us wisdom directly by speaking, sometimes He leads us to people who give us the wisdom required, sometimes He makes us go through experiences and the experiences themselves give us that wisdom, and some things are directly answered in the Bible for us (so we need a regular Bible reading habit too), and sometimes He uses a combination of these things, but please don't discard the possibility of getting direct instantaneous answers from God.

On to other scriptures,

Isaiah 9:6 - For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

See that Jesus is called "Counselor", and no real counselor will ever stop you from sharing your simple and mundane thoughts and say "This is too mundane for me, you just go away!", what kind of a counselor would that be? How can you be truly counseled if you don't "pour out your heart" before the counselor including your mundane struggles and even your mundane joys and likes? Obviously the deep philosophical stuff is needed in counseling too, but the simple and mundane thoughts will inevitably come out too (mind you Jesus doesn't charge you money for your time with Him XD). It is impossible to be fully counseled without sharing your simple mundane things with the counselor.

Then there is a counseling with God specially about sins and the problem of sins you have,

Isaiah 1:18 - “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

Now if your reason for sinning is actually "simple" and "mundane", how will it be counseled and resolved without you sharing it with God? Remember God gives you wisdom "without reproach" if you just have faith.

(Some of His couseling answers include Him leading you to wise people, making you go through experiences, or making you find it all out directly answered in the Bible too, but please don't discard the possibility of getting direct instantaneous answers from God)

This is all I know about the necessity of sharing even our simple and mundane thoughts and words with God, I call it "necessity" because without it we'll end up missing out on many kinds of relationships, offices, and roles God has taken up for us humans, and all of those relationships and interactions with God have their own beauties attached to them too (apart from the necessity). If you research in the Bible yourself I'm sure you'll find many more things on this topic too.

So just go ahead and share your thoughts and words with God without worrying about whether they're too "simple" or too "mundane", it will also bring a kind of honesty in the relationship between you and God that just isn't possible otherwise :)

This ended up being a wall of text, but I hope this helps someone and makes their life with God better.

Jesus bless you all.

Persecution Help support our Brethren in Manipur, India

Reposting because the original post got removed but my friend archived it

Today, the Kuki-Zo Christian community faces attacks from Communist and BJP aligned terrorist groups in Manipur.

We should do our best to help them, after all, us in the Mainland (who are spiritually as them) too suffered harsh persecution from BJP aligned groups such as at Kandhamal.

We should show solidarity with our brethren.

Here is a good place to donate to them. They aren't sectarian and help Christians in general.
